We went today, ¾/2016, Mom and I, for her lunch break called it in a 30 minutes earlier, so it would hopefully be ready when we showed up, it was not, made my mom late returning to work. Also prices went up, food portions cut, could not even receive a cup of water, don’t think i will be returning, not a deal anymore, plus if they’re going to charge such higher prices, my God move the restaurant to a better location. this location has bums outside sleeping, even saw one urinating by the dumpster where we parked the car. disgusting. I WILLNOTBERETURNING!!! For $ 10.00 at the JADEINN, in HIGHLAND you get a FULLMEALWITHSOUPANDSALAD, and they have water!!! Sorry a NOSTAR rating. I ONLYHIT1 because you HAVETOO, TOPOST A REVIEW!

I have been coming here since 1986. While I live over an hour away when ever I am in town I cannot miss having BBQ Pork Fried Rice and Egg Rolls. Best Chinese food I have ever had and I have had Chinese food in over 15 different states, three countries and at more than 75 different restaurants this place is the best Chinese food I have ever had!

WARNING«Wongs is no longer the same’ It has changed owners’ their take-out menu has Wang’s printed’ when I asked the young man at the counter if there is now new owners? Since the menu specifically had the new name’ he stated „No new owners“ typo error on the new menu». Too my surprise when I get home’ What a disappointment the food was horrible! Chicken Fried Rice was the worst! No green onions’ No egg’ All food purchased had the taste & smell of Fish! Though I did NOT order any food with fish’ These New Owners have changed the food for the worse” Cutting ingredient’s to increase their $$‘s(profits)! Buyers beware of this place! Wang’s! It is definitely NOT Wong’s ’ no star’ thumbs down button needed!

I haven’t been here in a couple of months I went yesterday and they have new owners and the food is horrible does not taste the same as it did before egg rolls were crappy full of dough not crunchy and crispy like before the pork had a bad taste to it. I’ve been eating here for 20 years and the food has never ever tasted this bad

Under new ownership doesn’t taste the same. Using a different kind of rice and my rice tonight had a burnt taste. Not to happy especially if your craving the pork fried rice your use to.

They just changed ownership about a month ago. Previous owner has been cooking for past 40 years so it s time to retire. Alas I did shed a tear today because the menu has been shorten considerably and prices have increased. I don’t mind that but what I did mind was that the flavor is gone. My hot and sour soup was now where near what it use to taste like. I was the only one inside and my order took longer than usual. I’m afraid to try anything else that more than likely the recipe has change as well. Usually during lunch time, there would be orders being taken but now that’s just a memory. Thank you for the memories but Wong is not no more.

Terrible customer service!!! The menu is jacked up! If u ask how to order they will be extremely picky with you. I had to call back multiple times just to get a better understanding and the girl I spoke to told me she was just«too busy» to take my order… Then why answer the damn phone… You had time to do that… Cancel the order. Won’t be eating from them until they get their sh*t together. I.e., better customer service. Now be too busy to make that extra money you could of gotten feeding my family of 5!!!

Used to be so delicious. Tonight’s dinner was just nasty. Chow main seemed like yesterday’s and greasy. Beef in beef broccoli was slimy and tastless. BBQ pork very dry. Egg roll, shrimp and sweet and sour pork were eatable but not as good as before. No need to even ask… Definitely new people in charge. Sorry will not return

Good food at good prices and friendly service. Area is not too safe and ambience is weak.

So this is defiantly a place where you have to decide do I really want to eat here… Or even park my car here. It’s in the ghetto of San Bernardino. They are reasonably priced and give you good portions.

Food is okay nothing spectacular, but for the price you are paying here, you cannot expect gourmet Chinese food. Only thing I would warn against is the neighborhood, someone always asks me for money…

Good food and great customer service from Haley. The pork in the fried rice is nice and tender. Pay extra for the way you want it cooked it’s worth it and fresh every time they make it.

This place is good. They’ve been around for a looong time. I always get the sweet and sour pork. The pork fried rice is really good but the best thing on the menu: the egg rolls. They are huge and packed full. Very good! Not the best area though. Don’t go at night.

My family moved to San Bernardino in the 70’s. Wong’s had 2 locations back then –The actual restaurant on Highland Ave? and the Take-Out kitchen on E St. The food and the service was always the same at both places — great ! I moved away in 89′ and was amazed and delighted when I returned in 2006 to find that the food at Wongs was still good. I wondered how old those cooks must be now or had they passed their talent on to the next generation. We were glad we still had at least one good restaurant left in the area to brag about — until a few months ago. That’s when we got home and found that our Take Out order was sooo wrong. I had to drive all the way back across town to get it right. I was told the cook couldn’t read English very well. Still, the food tasted salty and greasy and the Egg Foo Young was on the dry side. I was so disappointed. What happened to this place? Still, about a month later, craving Chinese food we decided to try again. We all finally agreed, Wongs had changed. I really hope whatever the problem is they will get it fixed.(The only really bad tasting food item are the egg rolls — unfortunately that hasn’t changed). Please try harder to be that award winning restaurant we loved back in the old days !!

Back in the mid-80’s I used to go to a gas station phone booth to use a pay phone to call someone. I used to watch music videos on MTV. And I used to eat lunch at Wongs. My phone use has changed, I don’t watch MTV anymore, but Wongs is still the same. They haven’t changed the empty take out boxes nailed to the wall to show you the size of a pint or quart. The caked-on dust shows their age. They still have fish tanks with murky green water and fish swimming around with no decoration of plastic sea weed or rocks on the bottom. They haven’t even changed the sad old wood paneling and the uncomfortable tables and chairs. It takes a while to get your order, because they make it from scratch each time. You get the same old miserable bunch of customers waiting for their to-go order. No one eats in that dining room. No one. You can get the same or better from elsewhere in a much better atmosphere. Time to update, Wongs.

Let’s start by saying that this place has been here for a minute. It has withstood the test of time. Even with a hole-in-the-wall presentation, it has been around in a tough neighborhood. I walked in with no expectations. As I looked over the menu, I asked the man behind the counter, «I’ve never been here before. I’m torn between the lunch special and the chicken in curry sauce. Which one should I go with?» The man replied, «They are both good.» Then a woman, customer yelled, «Everything is good here.» I went with the chicken in curry sauce. The man quickly ran off to the kitchen to make the fresh order in his high B.T.U. wok. The order arrived in a take-out container that was placed in a brown paper bag which was then put into a plastic bag. This is not the kind of place that packs napkins and utensil. Most people will take their order to go, I wanted the full ghetto experience, so I started to eat the food in their dining room. The food was piping hot and made fresh. The flavor was above average and the price was reasonable, even for the shady area. As for the décor and service, I suggest you come here for the food. I would’ve given them the 4 stars if they gave me utensils, napkin and a plate.
