This establishment seems to be closed down. What a shame– while not the best Mexican ever, they had good specials and friendly service.

I want dedicate this review to my friend Robin, who lives in Kitchener, Ontario and has been craving Mexican food, but has to live vicariously through me(she should probably re-think that). And who is nursing a broken arm, to boot. Anyways, I’ve been to their location in Irwindale, and I knew that they had a location out near my work, but I’ve been having problems finding it. Primarily because it’s in a rough part of town, and I don’t feel particularly inclined to drive around aimlessly out of fear of being shot. To give you a sense of what the area is like, think Mad Max meets Falling Down(starring Michael Douglas as the office guy who loses it and wrecks vengeance in some unsavory parts of L.A.) I’m not sure how to describe the actual restaurant. At one time, it was probably a pretty nice drive-thru restaurant, like they had in the 50’s, although it’s not like that now. Now, the seating area consists of a covered patio, surrounded by wrought-iron gating, covered with plexiglass that goes ¾ up to the ceiling. So it’s like eating inside, but not really. On cold and/or windy days, it must be pretty bad. Surprisingly, they have an «A» rating. They specialize in tacos,(which I’ve had, and they are definitely good) but today, I felt like taquitos. I have to say, they were pretty good, and a steal at $ 4.25, considering I got 3 of them, with REAL guacamole, and a medium drink. If you happen to be in the area willingly, or are serving penance for something you’ve done, give this place a try!
