So After reading the Unilocal reviews i was going back and forth contemplating on should I eat here or not but I decided to try it since I was craving Jamaican food I normally go to a place in pomona but since this one was closer I took a try. I got the oxtail plate and man let me tell you ! ITWASGOOD!!! I also got some chicken patties they were good also my sides were steamed cabbage and and potatoe salad they were really good. The reason for the 4 stars was because customer service wasnt that great. But if you can get past that and also the wait because the food is cooked fresh but it’s worth it. I would recommend to family and friends to go.

Went in at about 2 the wait was normal for made to order food. But I drive all the way there to try their potato salad and they«were out». Not to mention a few people came in after me and they were out of things they wanted as well. But maybe those were grocery items. Idk. So I opted for the cabbage and mac& cheese with the curry chicken. The cabbage was great and the rice and beans were good as well. The rest I could definitely live without. The chicken was dry not much curry sauce and the mac&cheesed tasted like can cheese. The portion of food they give you is enough for 2 people to share but who’s really going to share something that doesn’t taste that great? I might give it one more try to see if they have potato salad and definitely order a different main dish.

I won’t even write a review for this place and rude customers service, I was going to order after I asked if I can use the restroom with their restroom key in hand(because it was on counter) and the lady with vitiligo spots on face said««are u ordering! Rudely”“to keep it simple I used restroom and walked out! No order!!! Never period do not come here people!!!

I only order from the Jamaican menu. The portions are a generous and freshly made-to-order, so I usually have leftovers. My favorites are the curry goat and ox tail dishes. As for the sides, I always get rice and beans, and plantains. My parents are from Jamaica so I always crave authentic Jamaican food. My only complaint is that the sauces/gravies tend to be a bit more salty than flavorful. It’s close enough to the taste of Jamaica, so I’ll keep coming back!

If you are looking for a good Jamaican food in the San Bernardino area, Stone’s and Chin’s is the place to be. It is somewhat of an odd place with a mini supermarket, fried Louisiana chicken, and of course the Jamaican component. We actually asked a random patron what dish he would recommend and proceeded to tell us that the jerk chicken is what we should order. I ordered the medium sized portion of the jerk chicken. I thought the food was really good, but I could have went with the smaller sized portion in the black container. If you need to use the restroom, you have to obtain a key from the counter. Yet, the bonus to a locked restroom is that it is really clean. Also, the dining area was really small. There appeared to be a larger area but we believe that they were having some kind of banquet. I don’t know if you can order in advance, but it is highly recommended since you will be waiting for a while for your food. Also, we could not sit at another table because the cable box was being propped up by the table and a couple of chairs.

Customer service was AWFUL!!! The cashier had the WORST attitude in AMERICA! The food was hot and tasteful but no disrespect to the cook I’ve had better. Very commercial tasting but satisfying. Overall the food is ok but the customer service needs some SERIOUS improvement.

ATTENTION: Owner/manager of: «STONE’S &CHINS» Jamaican restaurant. Well, it’s BAD enough to be discriminated against for having allot of tattoos, but when you go to a new restaurant you try out and the ENTIRE staff ignore you & take everyone else’s order before you even though you’ve been standing there long before them & those others are standing BEHINDYOUINLINE. EVERY single employee ignored us, they asked the guy behind us to take his order, I politely made a statement that we have been ready to order & we’re first. They ignored us yet still. They took the next person that came in after us AGAIN. I looked at Amanda & said«let’s go, grab the kids, I need to leave before I grab that pos behind the counter & I do something stupid.» After looking up & reading all the REVIEWS, apparently this place is infamous for being RACIST& rude & does this to allot of people. My familydidn’t deserve such BS. Pass the word, boycott them until they fix this. If you NOTICE, ALLTHEGOODREVIEWSCAMEFROMTHEIRBLACKPATRONS, THENEGATIVEONES, FROMEVERYONEELSE. THISPLACEISRACIST. THEYONLYTAKECAREOFYOUIFYOURBLACK. THAT’S MESSEDUP.

Ordered food here to go and it was a disaster! Let’s start off by saying the person over the phone that took my order was very nice and friendly. I ordered, the two piece chicken and fries, the catfish filet, gumbo bowl and peach cobbler. CHICKEN: Was not seasoned at all and tasted like it had been sitting for hours. Fries was very soggy. CATFISH: The catfish did not taste like catfish but tilapia so when I got home, I called back in to ask if this was indeed catfish and he stated yes but I informed him that I eat catfish at least twice a week and it did not taste like catfish. He just kept stating that it was and did not offer to change it if I wanted to come back. GUMBO: The gumbo had a very nasty bitter taste to it like they put lemon and lime peelings in it and allowed it to sit. I was very disappointed in this because gumbo is my favorite and although I didn’t expect stellar gumbo from this place but at least it could have been OK to eat. PEACHCOBBLER: Very watery and running with fresh cookies on top. I asked the waiter if the cobbler was fresh and he informed me that he just made it. Keep in mind, this was during closing time so I said, what were they going to do with all the fresh cobblers in the cage… that is when he informed me that they keep them there for the following day! Yuck gross but I took one only because he explained that it was just made. I was completely disappointed with all FOURSEPARATE dishes that I ordered there. Be aware if you eat here. Food was no good but the waiter was kind upon picking up my order.

I’ll start off by saying as far as the food itself, there was nothing to complain about. We ordered a jerk burger, the fried shrimp, and a side of fried okra. All of it was delicious. You also get pretty large portions. However, the overall experience was not so great. We wanted to dine in at the bar, but they’re A/C was out so we had to order from the front, which was no big deal. We placed our order with what looked like a kid, who was not at all trained properly to be running a register and taking orders. I had to repeat our short order three times because he didn’t get everything, when I asked him a question about the jerk burger his response was«I don’t know,» and even though I asked him twice to make our order to go(since it was WAY too hot in there to dine in) he still didn’t tell the cook to go. The food took a really long time but that’s to be expected when the food is made fresh. While we were waiting, we browsed through their grocery section of the store which included all of their«fresh» bread. Several had mold growing on them. And finally, we asked for napkins with our food and were told they ran out. Not a memorable experience. Even though the quality of the food was great I probably wouldn’t go back.

Just had the curry goat dish with Mac & cheese and plantains. OMG! delicious! I knew I liked curry goat, but this is easily the best curry goat I’ve ever tasted. Ever! The wait for your food to be prepared is a but long. but to be honest it’s 100% worth it. I’m so glad i moved close to this place, cuz I’ll prolly eat here every week! PLUS, there’s like mini Jamaican/Caribbean grocery store to buy those otherwise hard to find items. I just bought some curry powder and jerk seasoning. I’m set for the month! :)

There are very few places that you can get authentic Jamaican food and this is one of them. They have everything from small meals to full dinners. This place is not to be missed. Be prepared to wait. I tried ordering on the phone but was put on hold so long that they forgot about me. The food is still worth it.

I’m Jamaican and have tried most of the local West Indian fair in the I. E, and have been going to S&C since they were in Realto. I’m sad to say this place is overpriced and the food quality isn’t great, as far as authentic it is generic and expected. The food spends most of the time under warmers and if you get there late you can tell. Rice and peas it’s dry and curry is mostly bones. I’ve never dined in since they moved to the new location. It feels more like it’s tying to be a club than a restaurant. Perhaps one day I will try out.

Very disappointed wish I would have read some of the reviews before I made the 30min drive to Redlands. I have had better curry at an after hours spot at 5 in the morning and the pineapple ginger tasted odd. I do not plan on a return visit and I hope I don’t get sick.

Let me start off with the positive about this place. The food is really good. The best fried catfish. There are two sides of the menu the Jamaican side and the soul food/southern side, which is cool depending on what you’re in the mood for. The macaroni and cheese is good. The jambalaya is pretty good. Their fried chicken is good. So far the food has been very consistent. They have two different places to eat the take out side and the bar. I usually eat in the bar which plays reggae music and I love that. It’s very laid back and chill. The waiters and waitresses in the bar are very friendly. Now here’s the only negative, it takes a long time for the food probably because it’s made fresh but you may need an hour or two and not be in a rush to eat here.

Let me just start off by saying that the food is GREAT! The roti skins aren’t always fresh but re heated. But the reaso for the 3 stars because the service is SOOO slow. even if you call in an order and show up after the time they tell you, there is STILL await on the food. So if your are in a rush, this is not a place for you.

Delicious! I always get the white meat jerk chicken with potato salad, beans and rice and plantains. I have also had the curried shrimp, which is really good as well. This place is a gem. It’s not in the greatest area in the world, but please don’t let that deter you from trying it. If you have a hankering for quality Jamaican food, this place is definitely worth your business. PS They have a full bar. :D

We were on our annual Griswold out to Phoenix from to visit the cousins over a 4 day weekend. Left waaay too late, like always. Major traffic, like always. 5 people stuffed in the car, like always. Took a dinner break & Unilocaled our way to Stone & Chin’s. Caribbean food in the Inland Empire — who knew? Restaurant was peaceful, super clean, not crowded, good reggae playlist. Friendly waitress offered to turn on the projection TV for our basketball boys — covered one whole wall. Family vibe, family-friendly feel overall. Ordered: fried shrimp, fried chicken, jerk chicken salad, curried goat, okra, yuca fries, sweet potato fries, plantains. This is not a fast food place, so you’re not there for the lunch buffet, be prepared to kick back for 15 minutes or so. We all LOVED the curried goat, plantains and yuca fries. Jerk chicken was tender and tasty, but probably better with peas & rice rather than in a salad. The husband, who travels to the Caribbean for business(lucky!), pronounced everything very fine. Younger son, who had recently gone with his dad, said the peas and rice were really good. Older son was busy with his huge plate of fried chicken. Grandma would have preferred pickled okra to fried, but loved her goat. The market is a treat — everything like what you might find in Jamaica. The pastries looked incredible, but we were all too full to partake. Very yummy, nice experience, will go back when we’re passing through again.

I am incredibly surprised that Stone’s and Chin’s Restaurant & Bakery has such a low rating on Unilocal. This is one of my favorite places to randomly come into. I can always expect to have freshly made, delicious food when I walk in. I can understand people not liking the«left side menu» when coming into the restaurant. I am not a huge fan of Caribbean food, but it’s not terrible. It’s just too different for my liking. The friend chicken here is delicious. I am also a big fan of their fried shrimp platters. Although there is always somewhat of a long wait, it makes me happy to know that I’m getting my food straight out of the fryer or right off the grill. The food is definitely worth the wait when you’re craving some good fried chicken. Side note: They have an AMAZING selection of hot sauces in their market-area. I will be back, as I’ve been back several times already. :)

Amazing! Portions are huge and flavors are well developed in everything. We’ve been to Jamaica and this is very comparable food. Jerk chicken not as spicy as I thought it would be from the reviews(and I don’t handle spice). We will be back!

This place is great. Got the Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken, & Plantain. mMmm soo good. everything was delicious. I would like to try Oxtail next time. They also have Louisiana’s fried chicken menu. AND they have a little«market» in the corner.
