Love this place! I’ve been coming here for more than a decade. California burrito is the way to go.

Very remote place to eat at. The first thing you’ll think is whether or not you want to go to the jack in the box right to beside this place. If you enjoy your«you time» and want to eat some Mexican food I will suggest this place. The food is made fairly quickly and the people are nice with their approach. Why go somewhere that’ll treat you badly? The food was very… well there’s a reason why there’s a B on the front door. The bread was burned and it felt stale. The carne asada felt a bit old and not too great in taste either. I have a feeling that Jack in the box knew what they were doing when they opened up shop. I’ll give this place a whirl again in a couple of months. I’ll see.

Horrible. I got a chorizo breakfast burrito and it was the worst breakfast burrito I have ever tasted. It literally taste like it was cooked on a dirty cooking surface. I ended up throwing it away and I hate wasting food. Don’t waste your time and appetite here.

Lived in the area for almost 10 years. Never gave this place a chance. Finally gave it a go. Only ordered a bean and cheese since they were only open for 10 more minutes. Cheese was cold not even slightly melted. I know you guys were in a rush to leave but your still open. At least give a bean and cheese burrito a chance to cook properly. It was the most basic thing done wrong. No thank you. No more.

Back in the day when my struggle was real, I lived a block down the street from this place for seven years. We came here once a week during that time. Little hole in the wall spot, next to the liquor store. How convenient. Instead of paying for a drink here, Id buy a couple cans of Arizona Ice Teas next door instead. If I was late on my cell-phone bill, I would conduct business at the pay-phone right there before I ordered my food. Sometimes theres a group of Cholos kicking it on the bench out front. Got to know this place real well. Often I could only afford a couple of ground-beef tacos(HUGE)back when they were $ 1.25. Dunno what they are now. They weren’t bad though. This place has always been inconsistent. Its hit or miss here at times. When I was friends with some of the employees, I would get hooked up. I knew the owner, but never really talked to him much. Other times I would come in to someone I didnt know from a cup of soup, and would get burritos the size of a blunt, and a teaspoon of guacamole on my taquitos. It really depends on who is making the food here on any given day. The first few years it was like this. Then I met my current Wife.(Dark-skinned Mexicana) We quickly realized that if SHE went to get the food, we tended to get fat burritos, and extra cheese and guacamole, etc. If I got the food, it was noticeably less of everything.(Im mixed, white-mexican) You get the picture. To be fair it may be because I don’t have tits. If you aren’t Mexicano, but someone who is, is with you, have THEM go in and order the food. Or if you have a hot Chica with you. Either way. Anyway, onto the food… The star of the show here are the Carne Asada and California Burritos. They are on par with the best Albertos restaurants. Very good. Carne Asada comes with guacamole, California does not, gotta add it. I recommend adding Sour Cream. The Carne Asada Fries and Super Nachos are also great, being that its the same ingredients as the burritos. HUGE. Wifey and I would often share one order of Super Nachos and be happy. These items were consistently good. Taquitos have been hit or miss here. The taquitos are the same fried up comfort food as always, but sometimes they are swimming in guacamole and cheese, and sometimes there is hardly any. Sometimes they use good guacamole, other times they use cheap«Smart & Final» green stuff. Chicken Tacos dorados are great. Eat them first(unless you have nachos) as the grease renders them into a hot mess quickly. Flying Saucers are great too, but the amount of food on the tostada also requires you to eat it quickly. Not so much for the regular Tostada. Good but with less baggage. The BeanRiceandCheese burritos are good and quite generous. Wifey ordered this all the time, it is a meal by itself. The cheese Enchiladas are good, but they are immersed in sauce and cheap lettuce, but then put in a Styrofoam clamshell even if its for dining in. So when you cut for food, your slicing open the bottom of the clamshell; making a mess and potentially opening yourself up to ingesting a sliver of Styrofoam. Its been years since Ive ordered this item, so perhaps they’ve gotten plates by now. Hopefully. Breakfast Burritos are heavy on the eggs, but they are big. Not really a fan. The Carnitas/Pork is OK. Tried it a few times, never really cared for it. The Horchata is good, I recommend telling them«light ice» if you want more than 4 – 5 drinks, because they will serve you a whole cup of ice if you let them. The drive-thru service is usually quick, but the talk-box has been known to got down, meaning you have to order at the window, slowing things down dramatically. Watch your back, back there though, you are an easy mark behind the store. The seats are rickety and old, but underneath them, are electrical outlets! Use them to set up a laptop them use Paneras Wi-Fi across the street. Décor looks like my Grandmothers house in the 70s. The bathrooms are just awful. Gross and smelly, graffiti everywhere. Perfect place to slam heroin, or refill your meth pipe though. Enter at your own peril. I recommend using the restroom at Jack-In-The-Box next door.

One of my favorite non franchise restaurants in the area. Whenever I am here, I get lunch at least once here. I usually will get the carne asada burrito. It is great, I love it.

Food — 2.5 Décor — 2 Pricing — 1.5 Service — 3 Score — 2.25 Food is okay, not really anything amazing. The rolled tacos werent all that good and was low on guac. Beans rice cheese burrito not as good as some of the other local places. Best to just visit somewhere else like cucas if you’re a student or looking for bang for your buck

From what I have heard and read this place use to be halfway decent. Funny part is that it is ran by the same owner. Maybe he is just getting tired of making cheap food. Typical mexican menu for a fast food place. Most things here are kind of bland cheap tasting. I would think its a value if all items were maybe $ 1-$ 2 cheaper than what they are. The location is halfway decent since its right off of tippecanoe and next to a busy liquor store. The drive thru does not really work so pull up to the window and tell the employee what you want. If you get the guy he wont say much and will look at you like your annoying him. The girl is somewhat talkative and friendly.

This is your classic hole in the wall, go for the food and quick lunch. The owner has been working there for years, much longer than Costco across the street. The carne asada burrito is the best in my opinion. The machaca is not bad either. Everything is huge. You order at the counter and pick up yourself or go to the drive through. The place is occasionally maintained, the kitchen is better shape that the dining room or bathrooms and that is ok with me. If you want beauty go elsewhere, if you want lots of Mexican food at a good prices this is the place. You will see construction workers and everybody else.

Fast service. Super friendly staff but the food is «eh.» I ordered the hard shell tacos with refried beans and rice. The rice was decent. The beans were gray colored and bland. The shredded beef in the tacos had no seasoning and the meat was not fresh. The red salsa was pretty good and reminded me of Sriracha sauce. Its a hole in the wall, which I don’t mind, but just not authentic enough for this chica. I could not finish my plate because it was not delicious. I was fooled by the newspaper article they have placed on the wall. Wasted $ 10 on this food. Disappointed. Hope they improve the taste by using some seasoning or marinade, and using fresh ingredients. If I come back I will try something else but I wouldn’t recommend the #2.

I’ve been searching on Unilocal for some decent places to try close to home and wanted to try out Ramberto’s. I stopped by early afternoon on Saturday and the place was empty aside from some guys on their lunch break in front of the restaurant. There was one guy working the counter who was nice but not friendly who took my order. I got the carne asada fries to go and found them pretty similar to everything else I’ve tried around town. There’s certainly nothing that distinguishes Ramberto’s from anything I’ve seen thus far but I was satisfied. The food was decent and not terribly expensive. The restaurant was clean and the wait was short and comfortable. I’ll definitely try some more items and update as my review as I do.

One of my favorite«dirty mexican» joint. Was craving it and had to go to drive-thru. Service is decently fast. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito and california burrito. The bean and cheese is stuff full of cheese. IT is gooey and delicious. What makes it really good is the tortilla and hot sauce. I actually think its on par with Maria’s and better than Cuca’s. The California burriot is great and loaded with pico di gallo and carne asada. Not terribly big but does the job. Once again, another satisfied«dirty mexican» craving met.

It’s old it’s grungy looking it’s sort of ghetto because it’s right next to the liquor store but the other reviews say the Carne Asada fries and California burrito are really good so I decided to try it. I rolled up on my lunch break, and after making sure the doors were locked, pulled into the drive through. I didn’t see any speaker to order from, but nobody was in line so I didn’t spend much time looking either. The drive-through window had several cracks and the old fellow who took my order was a bit of a grump. A few minutes and $ 4.50 or so later, I had my prize: a hot California burrito and a couple of containers of hot sauce. The size of the burrito was not colossal like some of the places in town, but that was OK, since I’m not a huge eater at a single sitting. The carne asada had a good flavor and the crispy fries really hit the spot. I’ll definately be back for round 2 or three… stay tuned for more!

The 4 stars is for the California Burrito. It bumped up the review 2 stars. California burrito — Yup it’s awesome here! Their fries are especially crunchy and gives the burrito a nice texture. Downside is that they only have carne asada for their cali burrito and the beef is mediocre tasting. I wish they had substitutions like carnitas or even better: pollo asada. Tacos — They’re huge. I mean HUGE. The carne asada taco was 1 star for me. The beef just doesn’t taste good here because the quality is already low and there is no flavor. On the other hand, the carnitas taco was a good 3 stars for me. The pork was grilled until slightly charred giving it a nice crunch when I bit into the taco. Hot sauce — Weakkkkkk. There is no fire! It’s very salty and and chili pepper is muted. It’s such a disgrace not to have an awesome hot sauce for an awesome cali burrito! Tips: 1. You need to specifically ask for the pickled carrots and jalepeno. You should definitely ask for these 2 items because it gives some heat to the meal(after all this is Mexican food!) 2. There’s no WIFI here but it’s located close enough to Starbucks that you can connect to it for free!(It worked for the iPhone).
