Dr. Yu was really great when we(husband & I) a few years ago. She used to take time, listen and seem quite compassionate. Now she rushes through, barely lifts her eyes off of her little computer tablet gizmo and shows none of the compassion she used to. I thought perhaps it was me — maybe I’d offended her or something. I’ve talked to several folks in the waiting room and they have noticed the same thing. Several have changed to other doctors in the practice. I usually try to see the P.A. as I REALLY like her. ***UPDATE*** Dr. Yu is back to being her sweet, caring self. Apparently she was having a rough time for a while but it’s sorted out now :) yay! I’ve seen 3 different P.A.‘s in the practice and each one has been great! My very favorite thing about going there are the front desk ladies, particularly Michelle. She seems to remember everyone and she stays upbeat, is VERY caring and sweet. I don’t go to the office very often but she never forgets who I am! With all the changes to insurance and all I’m really hoping I am able to keep going to see these folks! I will seriously cry if the day comes that I cannot be seen here.

My visit Dr. Yu’s office was perfect. It was my first visit, so they had a lot of paperwork for me to fill out. When I checked in, I was only able to sit down for 5 seconds before they called me. Suffice to say, I was speaking to Dr. Yu before I even had a chance to complete all of their forms! She was extremely attentive, a careful listener, and very friendly. I highly recommend her.

I wish all doctors were like Dr. Yu. If they were, I probably wouldn’t hate going to the doctor so much. The medical receptionist/assistant staff are outstanding. They are all very friendly and professional. I was in a glum mood when I went to my first trip to the doctor’s office. Not only did I book the appointment WAY too early, but I was in there expecting to eventually get bad news. Despite feeling glum, the friendliness of the staff brightened up my mood. It was not until visiting Dr. Yu that I realized how important a strong support staff is to a doctor’s office. After a less than 5 minute wait in the waiting room, a medical assistant called me in. She took my height and weight(btw, I found out I was 5′ 3.5″ — I always thought I was 5’6″. I had a friend measure me after I got home and realized that the medical assistant was right. It’s funny what you learn when a medical assistant actually takes enough time with you to have you take off your shoes before having your height measured) then took my blood pressure as well as other routine information. I then saw Dr. Yu. Dr. Yu was also very friendly and professional. She took her time and TALKED to me about my family’s medical history. She did not appear judgemental yet, at the same time, gave it to me straight. She also seemed to really care about my well-being — something that’s not as easy to find as you might think. I think Dr. Yu realized what a lot of doctors seem to forget — even if a diagnosis is routine and not a big deal to the doctor, it is a big deal to someone who’s being effected by the condition you’re diagnosing. I found Dr. Yu after doing intense research on local doctors. I had just moved to the area and was not satisfied with the doctor I originally tried. Dr. Yu once won a «Best Doctor» award and I can see why she deserved it. The initial appointment for a new patient to see her is a long wait but boy is it worth it. After the initial appointment, subsequent appointments aren’t as hard to get.
