Never been here yet. I am a band promoter Booking agent. My reasons to look into this place was very good comments of management, staff and was a great place to preform and mingle with all the custumers.

#vent«you can’t wear shorts with draw strings in our club» = if you don’t wear what we wear, your money is no good here. You can’t be in our club. #highschool #wildwestsa for real! You could say«James, just put some jeans on». Point is 1) it’s 20162) it’s discrimination 3) money is money 4) appearances are stupid 5) I just think dress codes are ridiculous but I don’t write the rules and I’m glad I saved my drink money. #wildwestsanantonio thank you for being you

Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Always have a great time with friends or just going out for a date night. Play about 5 popular country songs you can two-step to and then about 3 pop/hip-hop songs. Averagely priced drinks and average cover. Never too crowded but always a good crowd around 11 on Fridays and Saturdays. I consider it the country«prep» version of Cowboys Dance Hall. Doesn’t serve Coke products, otherwise I would give it 5 stars. Who the hell wants Jack and Pepsi?!?

I’ve been going here for awhile and the music hasn’t changed at all… It’s some old guy playing the same music every weekend. The bartenders I have had are awesome! TAKECASH! Ive had some problems opening a tab.

Been coming here since 2011, had 2 birthdays here in fact. Let me tell you why this is the best place to two-step in San Antonio. — LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION — Good part of town, plenty of parking, easy to get to off 281. Plus a Whataburger right next door for late night munchies. — GOODCROWD — People actually know how to dance/want to dance here as oppose to the riff-raff that you get at Cowboys(specifically on Wed nights/college night) or Thirsty Horse. Sorry Midnight Rodeo your location sucks and Cooter Browns your dance floor is too small. — THURSDAYNIGHTISTHENIGHTTOCOME — Ladies night(21+ no cover), bikini contests in the summer, $ 2.75 wells, long-necks, but my poison of choice is the Long-Island pitchers with the glow sticks. Best long-island you’ll find in S.A. for less than $ 8. If you’re looking for a less packed older crowd I recommend a Friday or Sat night. — BARTENDERSARELEGIT — Holly is da bomb! — BESTDANCEFLOOR — Large circle set-up so people know to keep moving, as oppose to other dance halls where you just bounce off people who don’t know what the hell they’re doing. NOTE: On Thursdays get there before 11 pm otherwise you’ll be in line for 5 – 15 mins.

Nice looking place, cool dance floor but Some old gray haired man working as DJ trying to be hip and playing terrible music mix. Very little country music interrupted regularly by hip hop and other music not suited for a country western bar.

DONOTLEAVEANOPENTABHERE! This past Saturday, we went out for a friends birthday, at the end of the night I went to close out and they handed me 3 separate papers to sign, all totaling about $ 100. I was shocked! They showed me an itemized list and I didn’t contest it because it was what we had been drinking and I just figured some of my friends drinks and shots got added to my tab. No biggie. UNTIL I talked to my boyfriend who said his tab was $ 85. I then called my other friends and ask them about there bills. One couples tab was $ 150, the other couple $ 100! So between 6 of us we had a total of over $ 400!!! There’s no way! One of the couples even left early! Needless to say, I have no proof of bartenders«padding» our tabs but I’m fairly certain this is what happened and I’m pissed off about it! Screwed all 6 of us royally!

Watch out! Keep your reciepts and check your credit card statement. Some of the bartenders are dishonest and will change the tip amount and your bill will reflect a different total!

We have tons of fun here!!! Gotta get there early if you want a place to sit by the dance floor! The shot specials are pretty yummy! And I like that they play a little club music sometimes too! :) best of both worlds!

Watch your tab. Save your receipt. Ran a tab at this bar only had a few beers and closed out. When I got home I had a charge for over 100. My bank was able to reject the charge. After hearing from other people this happens a lot. If I ever go back it will be on cash.

Rolled in at 8455pm on a Thursday… was the ONLY dude in the joint. Let me rephrase that, the only customer in the joint. I walked up to the bartender to ask what gives. Before I could Get my question out, the manager on duty rolls up hard on me and hits me up for my ID. Bro… I’m 40. He then asks me for my $ 5 cover charge. Hilarious. Bartender tells me it gets popping around 11. No clue how it was at that time… Sitting across Street at the tex/mex joint. Two stars only because of the aggression from the manager. Would have given one star but the Bartender was hot as all get out.

OKAY. I am a fan! I like Wild West :) First, a tip… when ordering a drink, get the pitcher. So, that may make me sound like a lush, but really, it’s cheaper. You can get a little mini pitcher of LIT for like $ 7.50 vs. a highball glass with all ice for like $ 5.50. And it has a glow stick in it! So, I come here every now & again to let loose & dance with friends & I always have fun! Yes, it is mostly country! Then, again, as Gloria pointed out, it is Wild West. I like it better than Cowboys b/c it is more intimate. I love dancing & I am learning to 2-step. I’m not there to «pick up» on anyone, just have a good time. Trouble with a 2-steppin kind of place is you typically need someone to dance with & most of the time you can find a nice Cowboy to twirl you around the floor without future expectations. Point being… it doesn’t feel like a pick up joint.

Scammers! So I came here with a friend for a chance to win a Harley Davidson motorcycle. They told us to be there at 8:30p to win, so we showed up on time like we were told. Then there was a cover charge. $ 6 to get in?! What do they think this is? Lame. So they did the whole process of giving out keys, and long story short, it’s a scam! It’s rigged! Completely rigged. We saw through their scam when they told my buddy that he didn’t win, because the winning key wasn’t in the kitty when he tried it. SCAM! I hate places that have restroom attendants. You have to pay to use the bathroom. The whole place is set up on a roller skating rink style. You have to dance in a circle. The drinks are watered down, and the shots they pour are rather light. They charge $ 4 for a Lone Star?! Who do they think they are?! Shiner is an import?! WTF?! They offer these pitchers of Long Island Iced Tea. Yea, a Yankee drink at a country bar. Gah. That seems like it would be a great deal, but there’s hardly any alcohol in there. Mostly glow stick and coloring. It was a cold night when we went, and they ran out of propane in their outdoor heater. Way to take care of the patrons. I won’t go back unless I’m kicking and screaming the whole way. Don’t fall for their Harley Davidson giveaway scam.

WW was hard to find! Well for me anyway cause I never been up this way. The directions on the website took me to the opposite side. Would be better if someone reviewed it or on their website say it is next to Gold’s Gym! Cause I can’t see the bar sign from the freeway. Made my way in and paid cover, never in my life have I ever paid cover to a «bar» this is not a «nightclub». I don’t see any go go dancers barely wearing nothing, oontz oontz music, and fog machines. From the previous reviews about smoking. I didn’t see anyone smoking and the place was pretty clean inside and very lite. I didn’t smell at the end of the night so I they probably banned the smoking inside. The crowd was much older… not too many young ones in there on a Friday night. cowgirl barbies with old faces and their old Kens. The music was good and the dance floor was different with the bar in the middle. Had a good time dancing and people watching. I agree with the drinks not being stiff here, on the weak side. I do like that is clean and not ghetto as cowboys.

What a weird Saturday night for me. I went out with my Northside, country music and two-step lovin’ friends. Since they tagged along with me to try out Blue Box in Pearl, I allowed them to drag me to Wild West afterwards. The bad first: Lots of white people. Obvs, I’m white, but I do appreciate some cultural variety, and that’s just not happening here. Secondly, two words… cover charge. The music is only country(totally fine and to be expected at a place called Wild West), just don’t let anyone try to tell you that they play hip-hop or booty music of any kind because they are probably just lying to get you to go with them like my friends were :) For every 15 country songs, they played 2 – 3 «pop» songs in between and when they did, you would have thought the entire crowd became paralyzed at the same moment because that dance floor sure did clear out. There was lots of good here too: I will disagree with other Unilocalers and mention that I thought the crowd was very nice. There was a general air of politeness– very refreshing for the bar scene. Service was great, and bartenders were friendly. There was plenty of room so that even if it was a busy night, you weren’t rubbing up on sweaty strangers the whole night. And the best thing of all… the bathrooms. This was like the Buccees of the bar scene. Cleanest, biggest, nicest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in a bar. I actually would happily pay a $ 6 cover charge at any other club just to have the nice bathrooms in exchange. Wrap up: If you like country music and country people, this place is probably right up your alley.

Put this place on the Ridicu-list. Wednesday nights should be Wednes-dead night: $ 3 cover and all you hear is «crickets, crickets.» I’ve dated lame chics with more personality than place. Even after noone was showing up at 11 pm., they were still charging a cover-really Wild West, REALLY? Since when is Shiner an «import.» Totally disappointed and ended up going to the two other bars on opposite ends — more people there and if I’m going to pay import prices, I better get import beer.

I’ve been really excited to try Wild West Nightclub since it opened a couple weeks ago. I can hardly imagine a better way to spend a Texas Saturday night than in a dance hall drinking beer and dancing with cute boys in cowboy hats. So, I went to Wild West with a couple friends. Of course, we were all dolled up and excited to try the newest spot on the northside for dancing, pool, and brews. I was told it was owned by the same people that own Midnight Rodeo, and I can see that is probably the case, since this bar is sort of a copy/paste of MR. I walked in and was immediately hit by a wall of smoke. I mean, it was unbelievable how many smokers were crammed into one bar. The crowd was… not the friendliest? People were shoving, and pushing, and just all around a bit rough around the edges. I don’t know. Maybe it just wasn’t my scene. One thing cool about the venue was the bar in the middle of the dance floor. Except you had to maneuver through couples dancing to get to it. But once you were in it was a cool idea. Getting a drink was darn near impossible. There are three bars inside and loads of cocktail waitresses floating around, yet somehow, each time I wanted a drink, it took at least 20 minutes to get it in my hand. I felt like the bartenders had favorite customers and spent their time catering to the regulars and the regulars only.
