Hi MATT! :) We popped in here on our way home from a Brackenridge Day for beer and wine. It’s a small little store, with a somewhat limited selection(I mean, compared to Specs), but it has a large presence! Right when I walked in, Matt saw me head for the craft beer and offered to help me make a decision. Now, I’m a Libra — so when you offer to help me decide anything, I will almost lick your face like a puppy. Matt was very knowledgeable — we talked Witte beers, and he knew what I was looking for when I couldn’t locate a Blanche de Bruxelles in the store. He suggested a little heavier wit, but I found one that looked interesting in a can(it was actually perfect on this 100% humidity day). I moved to wine, but didn’t need help in that area(of course) — despite Matt’s offer. I selected a Malbec/Cab blend that I will have again — Montes Twins(about $ 13/bottle) and a Bogle Old Vine Zin(which is a goto for me, and nicely priced at $ 11 here). I don’t live in the area, but I will pop in if I visit again — nicely done Olmos! TIP: Ask for Matt — duh.

Very clean, well lit and well maintained store. The clerks were very kind and helpful. The store has a decent wine and liquor selection. The wine selection has quite a few options at the mid-range price point. The beer selection isn’t the best in town, but I’ll be back due to the convenience and cleanliness.

I’m going to have to say this, Don’s and Ben’s, I cheated on you with WB Liquors. It was because you opened at 11 and WB opened at 10, mainly. Maybe deep down I was truly unhappy with D&B’s parking lot potholes and I let myself wonder over to WB that morning on purpose… I know WB is like basically another block away and it takes me 5 more minutes to walk to, but that extra 5 minutes is totally worth it. Sorry D&B. There’s something about a nice shiny new parking lot and fresh paint that does the trick. Maybe it’s the clearly labeled alcohols sorted by type, mixers and specials. I mean, the organization of a store does wonders for an indecisive shopper like myself. Writing this 5 star review broke my heart a little bit because I had to admit defeat to cheating on my favorite liquor store of 10 years.

Such a great first experience shopping with these guys. I was on a hunt for a Ranger Creek as a gift for a bourbon loving friend, and was so happy to see it displayed right in front. I admit, I tried Don & Ben’s first(ya know, local chain and all), but was disappointed to find they didn’t have any in stock. Not knowing anything about bourbon, the nice guy at WB was excited to explain the difference between the two options and ultimately helped make my decision. The store is pristine, well organized, and the selection is quite large. All in all, being that it is blocks from my house, I can see myself stopping in for my future booze needs.

WB is a new shop on the block. I tried it because of it’s close proximity to my apartment. I walked in in search of champagne to make mimosas. They have a decent selection. The worker there immediately asked if I could help, answered any questions, and even made some recommendations. They even have a cooler for if you are fancying bottles already chilled. They also had a good selection of juices– I ended up making pineapple mimosas :) The prices were good, I would definitely return. Service makes or breaks you, and in this case, it gained them a star! Go check them out.
