My little go to place has been found! Oh well the place was packed they got my drinks and food out fast. There two main people that will make or break the place the waitress and the cashier (Alma) what a team! Had my usual cheese enchiladas rice and beans Ms had the carne guisada rice and beans. Home made flour and corn tortillas chips and perfect hot sauce.

Freaking awesome down home tacos and enchiladas! This hole in the wall is special. Will be back.

Always enjoy the food. Just tried the steak a l Mexicana taco and it was great with a splash of lime. They consistently have good carne guisada.

Food is not as good as the original resturant. Wait staff is slow and doesn’t come around to refill glass. Will not be going back to this place save your time and money go elsewhere

May favorite spot for breakfast tacos! Tortillas made in house and cooking like my grandma would cook!
I strongly suggest the carne guisada tacos with cheese… Something about that cheese that makes me come back for more!
I always suggest this restaurant to visitors!

i’ve never been a big fan of carne guisada with cheese — until here. This place far exceeded my taco loving expectations.

Well, I only came here for tacos. But man, these were literally the worst tacos I ever had… I got two. A bean and cheese and potato and egg… The beans were flavorless, the eggs were dry and burnt, the potatoes were dry and the cheese was disgusting… Like the horrible «dairy product» cheese singles, then the tortillas… Burnt, thin, and gross :(first time here and thoroughly disappointed. They’re just tacos, but then again… They’re just TACOS, how do you mess those up? I’m giving it two stars instead of one cause the staff was all cutely dressed for halloween

First and last time. The food and service was great. Their pancake special was good and their Big boy special was delicious. I’m not returning because the cashier swiped my card twice and ended up cancelling both transactions. I had to make another damn payment. On their end it was cancelled and my bank has 2 pending payments. Now I got to wait for a credit which is more upsetting. I just don’t understand why she canceled the first transaction. I don’t like to play with money like that. I’m not coming back to this location. Hands down.

The food is good. A great hole in the wall. Service is fast and friendly. While in SA, I’ll be eating here everyday for breakfast. Reminds me of my home town, El Paso. Yummy!

I have been told by numerous co workers how good this place is so I woke up today and decided to try it out. I called to place an order to-​go, and the girl took my order said, «K. Thank you. Bye.» and hung up on me without telling me how long it will take for it to be ready. So I called back right away and they couldn’t find my order that I just placed less than a minute ago. Red flag! LOL! Being from El Paso, TX, it is very hard to find authentic Mexican food in the Tex Mex capitol of Texas. Out of 4 breakfast tacos, only 1 was DECENT. Chorizo and egg wasn’t too good with the chorizo being tasteless ground-​beef-​like flavor. Chorizo I know is kinda of spicy with rich flavor. Picadillo was basic as well with its flavorless meat and potatoes. Chicharron where I’m from, is made tender, juicy, spicy, and soft. The chicharron and egg taco was literally the hard chicharron that you can find in bags at HEB with egg just added. Really gross lol. The pork chop taco was decent and tasted better than all the other ones I got, but it still lacked flavor to eat it alone. I was going to give 3 stars but as I sit here thinking more about it, I feel betrayed by all these other wonderful reviews on here lol. So I gave it 2 stars with 1 star for the fluffy flour tortillas and the spicy green salsa that was there for me when I needed that little kick to help get me through these bland tacos.

Love their breakfast tacos! Doesn’t hurt that they have the small sonic ice…

This place is way too busy and they are so short handed and they get super frustrated and take it out on their customers.
I have been going here for a while. So it’s not as if I haven’t given them a few chances. The food is good and they are a staple in San Antonio but that doesn’t excuse CONSISTENT rude behavior.
They cater to their MALE customers. It’s so ridiculous. I’ve never seen anything like it before.
I HAVE TO SAY THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT. If that’s all you care about then Tommys is the place for you.

Today I ordered one of the 3 lunch specials (chile relleno) and chips & queso. Super fast delivery! Unfortunately, the food was only ok. The breading on the chile was thick & soggy … I picked it off. The red sauce on top & pooling on the plate lacked flavor as did the beans & rice. The queso was ok but nothing special. I put their green chile sauce located in a jar on the table on everything & that helped. Wow! Be careful! That stuff is CALIENTE!
So why am I still giving it 5 stars? Because the service was fast & friendly. I was by myself during lunch rush. The place was PACKED! At no point did I feel rushed to eat and leave. My waitress got my drink refills & togo wrap for my tortillas, my table was prebussed by cute busboy, and I was able to relax and enjoy myself while people watching.
I won’t order that special or the queso again, but I most definitely will be back to try other menu items.

Huge and delicious breakfast tacos. Two tacos are more like three tacos. Consistent and delicious, but a little pricey for tacos!

Went to tommy’s today for an early breakfast and their Parking was pretty good of course it’s a weekday. We were greeted immediately and we didn’t have to wait long to order our food. It was my first time and I really enjoyed the potato and chorizo taco! The tea was really great as well! If you’re looking for reasonable food and kind waitstaff definitely visit! :)

Love coming here for Sunday morning breakfast. Does get very crowded once the church crowd gets out and is hungry. Food is reasonable priced as are most Mexican restaurants.

I heard this is a great place to get some hungover cure food, well, I wasn’t hungover, but I was craving for something greasy, and no, I wasn’t under any controlled substance either.
So I ordered three Barbacoa tacos to go, they are greasy, flavorful and delicious.
Since I didn’t dine in, I don’t have any personal experience with the service. However, while I was waiting, a little girl dropped and broked a plate, the waitress and busboy cleaned up right away without any annoyance or fuss, so bonus for that.

This place has the best breakfast and breakfast tacos! I think they have the best chilaquiles in town! Their queso is mighty delicious as well! Their salsa can’t be super hot at times which is as good as it is bad :)
The staff is always working hard and fast and are super friendly and knowledgable. Take out is pretty fast, too.
You know the Mexican food here is legit because on the weekends it is packed with elderly Hispanics as well as families. I love this place and miss living by it!
