I travel all over the World for business. Odd that I only had to travel down the road for 1.5 miles to find the absolute worst service I’ve ever seen,.

Close to home and decent craft beers, but the food in the evening has gotten bad. Also they take over the Touchtones jukebox in the evening and play really bad 2005 Chris Brown type music. Seriously. let the patrons pick the music if they are willing to pay. 1/15/2015-gave it one more chance, still crappy food and assholeishness on the jukebox.

This place reminds me of a Buffalo Wild Wings and Little Woodrow’s. When you first enter the bar, it looks like a B Dubs if you walk to the back, it looks like little Woodrow’s with all the games(corn hole, darts and pool tables.) Great parking with outdoor seating. Not exactly conducive for conversation. At one point they had the music up so loud I could barely hear anything my friend was saying. Not exactly my cup of tea with the loud music. If I wanted to go to a club I’d hit up Live next door.

Would be a great place to watch some football games if the waitress actually did her job. She is more concerned with flirting with co-workers, smoking a cigarette and making sure her hair looks good then bringing us our food! The poor bartender is having to do her job! If you visit the Roo Pub — sit at the bar! The bartender is awesome!

I enjoyed my time at The Roo Pub surprisingly as it is also owned by the same guy who runs The Angry Elephant. The service was spectacular on very busy Sunday during football season. Normally waitresses are a bit slower which is understandable. Our waitress checked on us as much as possible while also getting our order out in a timely fashion. I had a great burger here and everyone in my party agreed the food was good. I must have gone on a good day since most people here are upset over the raw burgers. I got the Tru Blue which was tasty and cooked well. The onion rings were awesome! Super crispy and addictive! My boyfriend had the mac n cheese burger which was way too much food for one person. The macaroni was okay, a little over cooked but still delicious. I will definitely be back!

Service sucks. Sat there for 30 mins and no one looked at us. Need to be in a large group or know someone e to get service. Aggie owner needs to get that fixed

The atmosphere is really unique and clean. I love the game room. A great place to have drinks with friends, play pool or throw some darts. Eat before you come, because the food is awful at best. The chili cheese fries taste like sugary ketchup and the burgers were raw. I have had raw burgers twice. We also ordered the deviled eggs and the were completely blah. No favor whatsoever.

Its a fun place with alot of potential. Doesnt have a big crowd but when new people come in and all the wait staff does is hang around the same old guys all the time it makes the new people not welcome and doesnt make them want to keep coming back. I get the concept of having your«regulars» but how about instead of having the one old guy that tips you well, spend some time with the rest of your customers, you will do much better. With that changed i can see this place easily having a 4 or 5 star rating. Amazing food and they did a great job with the building. Just work on your customer service.

We were there last week for my husband’s work. The food and drinks were good. But, when we got home, I was checking my account online and noticed I had been double charged. I watched it a few days, because I know that sometimes that happens when the server does the tip adjustment. But, the second charge never fell off. I called 3 times to talk with a manager to see if he could refund the second charge. I spoke with Jennifer, Annie, and Garrett. Each time, they told me I would receive a call back from a manager, but never go one. I tried one last time and spoke with Daniel. He handed me off to a manager, finally. He never told me his name, but from Daniel handing the phone off to him, I gathered his name was DJ, or something like that. DJ proceeded to tell me that since I wasn’t a current or recurring customer, there was nothing he could do. I worked in the service industry for 4 years. I know there IS something he could do, he just refused to do it. Now, I have to go through my bank to dispute the charge. It’s such a pain. We go to San Antonio frequently for my husband’s job. We’ll never do business with The Roo Pub again.

So I’m going to set a reminder that says in one year this place will be closed. Too much competition for bad service and expensive drinks in the area. I take my cousin there after my wife and I try it. During my wife and i’s visit we enjoyed the cornhole indoors in the middle of summer and it was an ok experience. The second time not so much. We sit at the bar at like 5:40. Have to wait a long time to be served. We order two IPA drafts and the total was $ 17.50!!! That’s $ 8.75 a beer!!! So we try to ask about happy hour food but realize that happy hour ends at 5… That is lame! All the while long spells of waiting. Waited for menu, asked for happy hour menu, waited a long time, got menu and was going to order… Wait again a long time. Order and was informed happy hour is over. We ask to for our tab… Wait… Wait… Finally leave.

Took a friend from out of town here with the lure of an Australian bar. It is a spacious bar with some large screens, but nothing Australian about it. Can’t believe they charge $ 7.50 for Stone IPA! Service was slow. Only 1 waitress for the whole seating area. No other help or drink orders. Waited forever for the final check and between drinks. Had the $ 2 Taco Tuesday special. Barbacoa was not good, but the chicken fajitas hit the spot with Tecata’s that also cost $ 2. Much better price! Power did go out while we were there, but didn’t really care since it was just baseball.

«Yummmm!», «Mmmmmm» and«This is so goooood!», were the only words that managed to repeatedly escape my dinner guest ‘s and my mouth as we dined on delicious food. Shout out to Taylor for being such a great waitress! She was super attentive and provided fast and quick service. Try the sangria! It was very strong and extremely flavorful! I will file this gem on my list of favorites.

Good was delicious! Service horrible!!! Supposedly only one waitress working the whole restaurant so literally 5 minutes after seating ourself that the waitress came to take our order for drinks. This was after asking her who would be helping us. We may be back again, but definitely not on Sunday afternoon.

I Sat at the bar took sometime for bartender to even ask me if I wanted anything. Gave me a menu and never saw him again. Guess he was to busy doing shots with his buddy’s at the other end of the bar. After some time another bartender came by and I ordered some food to go a salad and some wings. Some 40 mins later the food came out. No one really ask me the whole time I was there if I needed anything. Every time I looked around the bartender s and wait staff were doing shots with each other. Over priced bar food and crappy service. The Salad was good the Wings were soggy and tasteless.

Was in San Antonio working and stopped in here during lunch. What a hidden gem and great atmosphere! In a plaza right next to the angry elephant which is also owned by the same owners. This sports bar, restaurant is very spacious and inviting. Huge tvs everywhere and the service is spot on. Was greeted instantly and everyone from servers, bartenders and the owner and manager were so friendly. It’s a great spot for lunch but probably even way better for dinner with groups or just a couple friends. If you need to watch a game, I can’t imagine why you’d want to go anywhere else. If you go to angry elephant restaurant next door… order one of their specialty hot dogs! best in San Antonio. They stay open late and have tons of tables. Lots to order and the drinks list is simply great. I can’t wait to go back and have a team night there and hang out. Great austin theme bar for a night out.

We had a gift certificate for the Roo from some friends and headed over for a late lunch. I was impressed to see their happy hour was practically all day long! I got the Ripper burger which had onion rings and bacon on it. It was not a ladylike burger but that’s how I like them! It was cooked med rare was requested but I think they squeezed some of the juices out while cooking. nevertheless, another lunchtime option next time we are in the area!

This our second visit to Roo Pub, and both times we have had Melanie as our server. She does a great job and seems to know a lot about the menu items. They have great prices on their mixed drinks and a good selection. Last time we were here we ordered raw oysters and Brekkie Fries, which are fries covered with sausage gravy and fried eggs. My oysters were great with the exception of one that seemed warm and tasted a little gamey. My hubbie loved the fries enough to order them again this time. I had a couple fries, but since I don’t care for sausage gravy I can’t fairly judge the fries. This visit I tried the deep fried deviled eggs and the blue cheese burger. The deviled eggs arrived quickly but the taste of the breading overshadowed the taste of the eggs. That probably could be remedied with more mustard and relish in the eggs. The blue cheese burger was fresh and tasty once I removed the red onion slices. The burger would have been much tastier with grilled or sautéed onions. The burger came with a side of onion rings. They were crispy and fresh tasting, but I didn’t taste any salt or seasoning in the breading, and the salt wasn’t sticking to them so I didn’t eat them. Overall the food, prices and service were good enough that we will come back, but they could use some tweaking on the food prep. We are here on a UFC fight night on Pay Per View. We got here a couple hours early to make sure we got a table. Cover charge was $ 10 per person. All the tables filled before the fight but there were still a few bar stools available. Lots of huge screens available for viewing.

Great place to hang out and watch the game. Tons of televisions, great food and fantastic service. Roo Pub is a very chill place to hang out and actually be able to have a conversation with friends. The food menu is not your typical bar food menu, which I love! Wide selection of food and good food at that!

Came here a couple times and it seemed ok. However the last time I came, I brought a date. The service was horrible the bartender was more than rude and so standoffish that it was evident to my date. In addition to the fact that she was being racially discriminated against by more than one of the customers bc she is a woman of color I have never been treated so rudely and inconsiderate. I asked for water for my dog which took 30 minutes to get. I also ordered food and didn’t get any napkins for fried food! Aside from the fact there is nothing vegetarian besides the spinach rolls which conveniently were out of the one thing I did order was calamari and it was over cooked and served with not enough sauce for the size of the dish and I wasn’t about to deal with the worst service I’ve had in years. I Hope they hire someone more competent. they should call it the poo pub lol! I know this isn’t the right review place for the angry elephant next door however we tried our luck as well when fed up with with the situation at the roo pub and it was even worse the bartender there!!! She was rude and so uptight that we didn’t even order and was pressured to leave based on the wretched employees that these two establishments, which I later found out was owned by the same person or ppl!!! Very sorry excuse for a place to have fun I have no time for ignorance. Ain’t no body got time for that:) Won’t be going to either if these places again I just moved next door so I was willing to overlook a lot. That should tell you something. Happy dining!
