Here’s my meal in a nutshell… 1. Deviled Eggs app was just plain olé nasty. And I can tell you I love deviled eggs — all sorts of diff ways, but these were gross. As someone mentioned, tough to mess up on this. 2. Sauage was good, but not great. 3. Turkey was good, but again not great compared to other BBQ joints. 4. Brisket was like shoe leather. I’m talking this was worse than any meat I’ve seen come out of a microwave — dark dark grey tone and chewy as can be. 5. Mashed potatoes were just ok. 6. Bread was good, but the butter was actually little packets of margarine — yuck! 7. Wife’s ribs were over cooked and chewy. I’ve never seen her disappointed with any Ribs before,(me neither when it comes to brisket), but this place was able to disappoint in stars… 8. To go containers came with nasty grease all over them(inside and out) — when I brought them to the manager, he went back and found a stack of dirty to go containers — yikes, who knows what’s been spattered all over them! Being that my previous adventures to this place were less than exciting, this seals the deal — won’t be b

This was my second visit. I came both times with my daughter. She LOVESBBQ! Me. I think it’s Meh… But I do like county line. I am more of a sausage girl than anything else and they have some of the very best. It’s not at all dried out. The prices are high(between $ 15 and $ 30 per person) but the portions are outrageous. It’s nice. You can eat all you want there and still take home leftovers. Unless you get one of the very large or all you can eat then the menu says no doggie bags. Now onto the service. The first time we came it was just ok. But this time the service was excellent. The guy was funny and witty and I like that a lot. Overall, a really good place to go. We will go back soon.

As a regular customer who visits the county line often I was disappointed to have the manager mark or Mike whatever his name was blatantly lie to my face after not giving me what I ordered which was the lean cut brisket he brings me lean cut brisket and marble cut and tries to tell me the brisket on my plate is lean when in reality it had fat attached to it and was in fact the marble cut that’s fine if there was a mistake made but please don’t lie to my face like I don’t know what I’m talking about I always order the lean cut and it is indeed a diffrent cut from the marble unfortunately have to give them one star for that definitely didn’t enjoy my experience in this visit mind you I am a 5 year old customer to the county line.

Manager tried to correct a pick-up to go order… two brisket dinners… approximately $ 20.00 each. We had found hair in potato salad and extremely dry brisket. He totally agreed that the purveyor had not provided good quality beef lately. He sent us a certificate for two lunch sandwiches not to exceed $ 12.99. Brought it to attention of corporate and we get a certificate for one brisket dinner from same manager. Now I know why all three stores in my hometown of Houston are closed today. You can’t beat SE Texas BBQ… competition is fierce. :)

This place has great food. great. Their chicken fried steak is great. The mashed potatoes have a garlic taste and are homemade. The grilled chicken sandwich or plate is always moist and tastes delicious. We always get great service.

We love County Line. My husband loves the half chicken. I got the 2 meat combo brisket and turkey. My son got the baby back ribs lite portion. The meat portion is the same as the hearty portion the only difference is the sides– hearty are bigger. Service was excellent our waitress was Charity and the margaritas are excellent. The manager in charge was very welcoming when we walked in. Yes, we are coming back.

We took our friends for an anniversary dinner. We were seated immediately and Matthew took our drink order almost at the same time. The food came fast and was delicious. Matthew was a great server! We LOVE County Line bbq!

1 star because the server was nice and attentive. The second star is because of the food, ordered the 2 meat combo, the lean brisket and the shredded pork with side salad and macaroni. The positive part was the macaroni, you can tell it was fresh. The negative part is that the brisket and shredded pork was not. It was probably from the day before and reheated just like the serving bread they give you. The serving bread was hard to pull apart since they threw it in the microwave. The side salad was obviously brought out from the fridge probably had been covered with a plastic wrap and just chilled in the fridge. I’ve heard great things about this place and it seems to me like it’s just garbage. People can tell if you are reheating things.

Only problem is prices, but portion, taste, and the time it takes from ordered to hitting the table is A+ all round. Plus they have a bar so bbq plus liquor equals a good ass time.

I love the view, ambiance, vibe, everything about the River Walk. I haven’t lived in the area long enough to be jaded, which is a good thing. However, I haven’t yet found a restaurant that doesn’t make me feel like I’m eating in a tourist trap. County Line continues the trend. I went with a couple co-workers, so we were looking to eat. The outside seating was all taken, so in we went. Not bad as there were tons of windows to people watch inside. The décor was spot on for a BBQ joint. Unfortunately, watch out. The waiters will bowl you over if you are rude or dumb enough to get in their way. They messed up one of my colleagues order, but they nailed mine. I was foolish enough to get the 2 meat combo with a beef rib added. Let me go thru the items. What they didn’t have in quality, they made up in quantity. A ton of food! Ordered a ½ loaf of bread. It was good, but most restaurants just give it to you. This was enough for 4 folks. I don’t think I’d spend money if I weren’t on a business dinner. Lemonade was very watered down. Beef rib was way over cooked and/or left on a cooking lamp too long. Very chewy like beef jerky with tons of gristly fat around it. Not slow cooked at all. I ate maybe a 1⁄3 of it before giving up. Big waste. Brisket looked like it was from a catering dish. I love Texas brisket and in the old west they would have been shot for serving it. It was not the tender fall-apart meat that most BBQ joints serve. Sausage was good and salty. Nothing special, but how can you ruin that one? Cole slaw was about as uninspiring as it gets. Large chunks of cabbage in very plain dressing. Mashed potatoes were at best good. If the meat didn’t ruin it, this would have fared better. Waiter was very busy. Unfortunately, with other folks. He was slow to come around to us and to attend to our needs. It felt like either he was dysfunctional(probably not) or they needed more waiters. I will continue to look for that elusive great dining near the RiverWalk.

The husband felt he needed meat after running the half-marathon, so here we went. The husband had the brisket plate, while I ordered the full rack of baby backs. It’s a pretty good deal — no way I can eat them all, so I have lunch for the next day. Our server Jennifer was great. She kept the teas full, brought extra sauce, brought great containers for my leftovers, as well as a plastic bag for the leftover homemade bread(so good with the honey butter; I threw in a couple of those, too). I know this is a ‘chain’ restaurant, but we’ve never been disappointed.

This place is a prime example of having everything right except the meat. What I mean by that is, when you walk in, the place smells fantastic. When we got our plate the portion was huge(I got the lite plate of ribs). The sauce was some of the best I have ever had. However, the meat was not seasoned to the point of not needing the sauce to give it flavor. To be good BBQ in my book the meat must be delicious without sauce(Texas style). Also, the meat was tough. The ribs where not«fall off the bone» soft, they would have had to be cook for several more hours to reach that point. I won’t be back.

Pretty good food but skip the ribs. Lunch: Two meat lite special. I had the brisket and the pulled pork with sides of baked beans and green beans. Both meats were great. The baked beans were not very good at all and could use a lot of help. There was no flavor and kind of hard. The green beans were OK. My co-worker had the pork ribs and they were tough and had to be cut with a knife, so stay away from the ribs. Service: Very good. The place is huge and packed so expect to get food on the slower side, but overall in my expectations for lunch.

What I appreciated most was the generous portions since we came on empty stomachs! The food was average I’d say, nothing flashy or over the top delicious but good and satisfying. This location made a positive impression on me when the manager came running to our car as we were leaving since he thought we left a birthday card behind. We didn’t, it was someone else’s, but I appreciated his enthusiasm to help a customer.

I’ve been coming to SA for about 32 years now. For the most part when I come here I’ve always gone elsewhere for BBQ but since I’m staying just down the street from County Line I decided to stop in. Had the sausage and baby back ribs. The sausage was good. Good enough that I’d probably come back just to have it. The ribs were good till I got to the last one. The last one was tougher than jerky. Not really happy about that. I found the place to be a tad pricy relative to the overall quality. I liked the sausage, and would eat it again but I’d have to be in the mood to drop a little more money than I should have too. PS: Stopped in for some to go food on 10⁄2. Ordered the ribs and sausage again. Added cole slaw and potato salad to the order. Sausage was good. Ribs were better this time but the did a bad job of peeling of the skin on the back of the ribs. I took off a pretty sizable piece. Cole slaw was good but was chopped into big chunks. I don’t recall ever seeing that before. The potato salad was ok except for the fact there was waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy to many pickles. Not sure if this is how they do it or if someone just went a little overboard when it came time to add pickles. Either way it was not a good thing.

My family and myself had a good tim here. I had the chicken fried steak, two slabs, with fried okra n mashed potatoes. My wife had the two meat platter, brisket and turkey with Mac m cheese and the potato salad. My daughter had the chicken breast sandwhich which was juicy w/fries and my older daughter had the chicken breast salad which was surprisingly good. My son had the grilled cheese sandwhich w/fries and he ate it all! It was all awesome! If I could change anything it would be that I have gotten a side of potato salad instead bcuz my wife’s was to die for fellas! Best potato salad I’ve had to date

My family took me here while visiting the city. Now these service here was very friendly, I could get used to «Yes, ma’am». Our group of 6 had no trouble getting a seated around 5pm. Our group really enjoyed the smoked sausage and the chicken which was nice and moist. We also liked the homemade bread too. Oh and my family loved the freshly battered and fried okra. The brisket we had was dry. The pulled pork and ribs were just so so. They have«hearty» plates and«lite», but we found even the Lite portions to be more than enough. There’s also a Family Platter section which is nice for a big party. It’s not my favorite BBQ that I’ve had, but it was a pretty good choice. I know they have live music outside on the stage which would be great and really add to the experience. But it was too cold when I visited.

WARNING! COUNTYLINENOLONGEROFFERSTHE UnilocalSAUSAGEAPPETIZER! You can check in here, but DONOT expect the free sausage app! Minus one star for that. Otherwise, I had a gift card from a parent of one of my students, so wife and I decided to give CL a go. Went on a Monday night. Not crowded at all, only because there was n live music. Wife ordered a three-meat plate; I had the five meat. Ribs are good: pork ribs are flavorful and tender, beef ribs, for some weird reason, not so much so… rather tough and little flavor. Sausage is a bit spicy, but good. Chicken, wife says, was good. Turkey was very tender, juicy and full of flavor. Mac and cheese was delicious and very cheesy. Garlic potatoes are awesome! After giving our server a bit of grief, she was very good. I gave her grief because(and this is the reason I deduct a star) they no longer offer the free Unilocal!sausage appetizer. No worries because the gift card paid for the entire meal. We will return, if only for the AYCERIBS! And WHO complains about portions being TOO big? That’s a major problem with most restaurants today: overpriced and underportioned.

We were in San Antonio on business and asked a local person where to go for lunch and they recommended this place. Upon check in we got a free Unilocal appetizer which was a specialty sausage and sauce that was yummy! All 6 of us ordered something different ranging from a salad to a mixed plate dish. I had the mixed plate which came with choices of 2 meats and 2 sides for an incredibly reasonable price. I got the sausage and marbled brisket which melted in your mouth. I had the garlic mashed potatoes and cole slaw as my sides again both were yummy. Other sides people got which I tried were the baked beans and fried okra all very tasty. They serve warmed bread with butter but also a honey spread which was awesome. We all used that so had to request more as we went through it all. The rest room was also interesting and enjoyable. I know that sounds weird but they have a broadcast going on that gives phrases or words and then they are translated into redneck or southern interpretations. Hilarious!!! You almost forget why you went in as you listen to it. Lunch for 6 with our beverages was under $ 80 and most of us did not finish our meal. Great food at a great price with great service!

La BBQ de Texas es muy famosa y definitivamente«the county line» copera a crear esa fama. El sabor ahumado de las carnes es perfecto y la salsa BBQ es muy buena. Las ensaladas y frijoles tienen la apariencia y sabor caseros.
