This nice bar/lounge is located at the back of the lobby level of the Marriott Riverwalk Hotel. Great location: literally steps away from the Riverwalk, and 1 block away from the river entrance to the Riverwalk mall. Our party of 6 stopped in for mid afternoon snacks Thanksgiving day. It was slow, and there was a good mix of seating options and many HDTVs for us to watch the Cowboys crash and burn. We all ordered beers or drinks. Their Honeydew Martini packed a nice punch, so I had two at their discounted price of $ 8.00. The Texas Trio app came with a decent amount of chips, along with 2 red sauces and some queso. Decent food. Our waiter Christian took great care of us. Service was 5 stars. Overall this place was 4 – 4.5 stars. Would have given them5 stars if they would have offerred a few more drink and a food special

Had to grab a quick bite to eat before my conference started and figured the hotel bar was as convenient as could be. I wasn’t expecting much from the food but was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and were full of flavor. It was a great lunch and service was quick. I sat outside on the patio which overlooks the riverwalk. It was so relaxing! I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a tasty, quick bite.

Hotel lounges don’t get much better than this. It’s the type of wind-down-liquor-me-up atmosphere I seek when traveling — super comfy bar stools, modern festive décor, great drinks, good food, and the bonus benefit of interesting conversation with Alex, who has been a loyal, hardworking member of the Marriott family for 30 years. There are couches, rustic dining tables and cushioned bar stools. Hotel management ensures the service remains very attentive; Benjamin Mangona made my guest and I feel like rock stars during our visit with his professionalism and attentiveness. I would absolutely visit this Marriott again!

The bartender is a really sweetie. He gave me some pointers between margarita choices. His final recommendation, of you haven’t had a prickly pair margarita you should really try one. It did not disappoint. Good taste and none too sweet.

When you don’t want to look around for restaurants in the city because your stomach is a grumblin’, you usually fall back on whatever is closest to you — thank goodness The Bar is what was closest to moi. Located on the Lobby floor of the wonderful Marriott River Center; The Bar is a great and convenient place to drop in for lunch for tourists like me. The service was extremely fast, even with the one waiter who was working there having to go up and down the elevator to retrieve our food from the restaurant above us(yeesh!), and friendly. The ambience was swanky and dim and our table was a cool slab of wood — literally almost like eating on a well-polished tree. Truthfully, I wasn’t expecting a lot from the food, but I was pleasantly surprised. The menu isn’t anything extra special, but everything my dining partners and I order was well executed and tasted delicious. If you are a fan of chicken sandwiches, or chicken in general, then might I suggest the CBLT(pictured); the breast was well cooked, juicy, and had a wonderful smokey flavor. The sourdough bun was also sinfully fluffy and light. Also make sure to pair your meal with a strawberry lemonade if you are a fan of flavored lemonades. Location, well executed entrées, and friendly service is what gives this place 4.5 stars. My only possible qualm with the restaurant is that it can be slightly pricey; for a party of three our bill was pushing 90 $ with tip for a lunch. However, it was worth it.

Only reason this place does not get a 5 is a) it’s in a hotel, and b) it’s prices. Other than that good selection and great service. Atmosphere varies on how busy the hotel is. Crowd is mostly 30 to 50, so cool for me I’m 41, yes hard to believe(not really). Not a place for kids, leave them at home, in room or other controlled environment. Any time I stay here, this is at least a brief stop before heading to dinner on the riverwalk area. Wine selection is ok, but nothing to write home about. Ok, 3 reasons not a 5(oh no, boarder line a 3 ½). What else can I say, but enjoy the drinks !!!
