Ugh, can’t believe I was excited to go here. Our server was okay, not good but not bad, just meh. I had a table of 5. Four of us did the smoked sirloin medium rare and then one did the strip steak Oscar medium. Every single thing came out burnt and cold. One of my friends tolerated his, one left after the manager said, «Well it is right and this is how it is», but in the end the manager glumly offered to rebook the entire meal. I saw how poor the steaks were done and changed my order to the ahi tuna to be on the safe side. So we wait an excessive amount of time for the second attempt. For my friend’s strip, they just reheated it and lied about it. Come on, you could SEE the prior cuts!!! Then they lied about it when she confronted there manager. My other friend’s steak was now just totally overdone and the plate was poker hot so it clearly was forgotten and sat under a heat lamp. My ahi tuna was overdone, no seasoning, and also clearly under a heat lamp. T came with some gelatinous green congealed glop. Why I tried it, I’ll never know but what a mistake. I actually spit it out and threw up in my mouth a little. So the manager keeps hiding from our table, finally we told the server we just wanted our checks and would not be eating the food. Manager walked by, shrugged us off and said, «Fine, you don’t have to pay for it». That wasn’t the point. He told us early on he is just a shift leader and not a full manager and it is obvious this happens a lot. I’m sure other TLAC are great, my friends have had amazing meals, but this one should just be turned into anything else but a restaurant.

My husband and I went to Texas Land & Cattle about 2 weeks ago.…we love(d) their smoked sirloin steak and occasionally treat ourselves to copious amount of meat.. .well, on this particular evening I think the chef/cook was way off.. . we ended up attempting to eat rubber steaks.. . my husband is confrontational and I don’t typically like to complain.. .but the most professional waiter noticed that neither of us had eaten our steaks.…so he inquired about our meal and I conveyed that it was terribly off.. . taking my constructive criticism to heart, he left and returned later with an adjusted bill.. . what was so pleasant about the experience, despite the steak, was that he said«we really want to keep you as customers and sometimes just have a bad night.». .. .I loved the honesty and genuine comments.. . so I wanted to say something nice! We will try again.…because everyone does have a bad night!

Great service, but no top notch steak house like Fleming’s. Ordered steak rare, but it was medium well done. They did offer to replace it, but I didn’t want to wait for it. Reminds me of a Texas Roadhouse except they don’t sing Happy Birthday for some reason.

You can always count on good steaks here – you get what you pay for. Service is consistently good – efficient and courteous. I tried something new – smoked sirloin. It was decent. I probably will stick to more traditional steaks from now on, though.

Over the top GREAT food! The real hidden gem is their Happy Hour is good ALLDAYTHURSDAY!!! Incredible $ 3.00 apps and I do mean INCREDIBLE!!! Brian was our server and he is OVERTHETOPGREAT. 100% attentive and courteous. THURSDAYROCKS!!!

Went to the Texas Land and Cattle near the airport. Was very disappointed. This location appeared to be the less classy place. The restaurant felt dirty. Our table was dirty when we sat down. Our steaks came out very fast, but were luke warm and bland. Our sides were cold when we got them. My wife’s salad only had lettuce and onion on it. And our server was mediocre at best. On the bright side, my beer was cold. Needless to say we won’t be coming back to this location. P. S. It’s not a good sign when there’s a 40 under your truck as your leaving

Food — pretty good, not fantastic but certainly not bad. The reason for four stars is two of the employees we encountered. I was visiting San Antonio with three work colleagues for business and all four of us had just flown in from different states. We were all tired when we got to our hotel so we just walked across the street for dinner. Two of the guys I was with seemed so brain dead they could barely fog a mirror. The date was 2÷10÷16 and the hostess was a petite Asian lady. Even though the restaurant was PACKED and loud, the hostess was all smiles, very polite, and very friendly. After a long day of travel, it was great to have someone be so friendly, even in a hectic environment. Our waiter(Says Steve on the bill) was absolutely exceptional. Again, the restaurant was crowded and loud, and two of the guys I was with were more or less non-responsive(tired I guess), but Steve went through the entire menu with them, was friendly, kept us updated on the progress of our meal, cleared the table when plates were done, and generally did everything right. Steve was a total pro and did a fantastic job even though it was probably a stressful evening for him. So like I said, decent place, food is pretty good, but the staff we interacted with were off the charts great. I’ll have no problem going back if I’m in San Antonio again.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. The servers, and all staff for that matter, are always friendly. I’ve never had a wait here, which I love. And their brisket stuffed jalapeño poppers are amazing. My favorite dish is the salmon but you can’t go wrong with their steak either. They’ve implemented a new happy hour with cheap wine and delicious appetizers! Great place for a relaxing night out.

We had a party of 16 and the waiter said it will be to difficult to take care of our group. They had plenty of room but we would have had to be separated which was ok with us. Sorry for being so difficult. Very disappointed

This is the worst Texas Land & Cattle that I have been to. Bread was so cold that the butter wouldn’t melt. Tomatoes tasted funny in the salad. The baked potato had been cooked for awhile. It was hard and barely warm. The steak was ok. Save your money and go to Texas Roadhouse. Our bill for two at lunch was $ 36 with tip. Much too high for this quality of food! The only thing good was the service. We won’t be back.

Was great. Traveling for work, came in and was promptly seated, got my app and dinner and everything was simply delicious. Suggest the signature smoked sirloin and the shrimp and avocado cocktail. Some local, regional, and chain beers.

Was really craving a steak thought this place would be good. Since my date and I were starving we wanted an appetizer but everything we wanted they didnt have. Ok not a big deal they gave us bread and butter. Ordered our steaks and sides. …once again all the sides we wanted they didnt have. Did someone forget to stock the kitchen? Food was ok only thing I really enjoyed was my potato. Thats sad to say for a steak place. Waitress was nice and attentive so thats the only reason there are 2 stars. Wasnt a horrible experience but I came I saw I am never going back. Oh yeah I know ribeyes have fat but son of a gun, mine was pure fat! $ 22 bucks for a plate of fat? F’ all that man.

Best steak ever for me because I am not really a steak person. I was pretty impressed. I had the steak with the crab cake on top. Delicious. I was even asked if there were any celebrations. I did mention that it was about 7 days away from my birthday. They served me a birthday treat of brownie and ice cream that was just awesome. When I return to Texas I will stop by this place again for sure. Waiter was also pleasant.

Sat at the bar and ate… food not great but service is awesome… talked to Danny the bartender for a long time and he is a good dude… knows a lot about tequila and that’s a big plus in my book… I had the bacon wrapped filet and the steak was tender and cooked well but not a ton of flavor… the green beans were pretty bland and the Mac and cheese was pretty good… if you’re looking for a Ruth’s Chris quality steak, this place is NOT for you but is a decent affordable meal… I wouldn’t come back for the food but I would come back to sit at the bar and talk to Danny… cool guy… UPDATE…after talking to Danny about food and what I like he brought me out a sample of the Smoked Sirloin they have here… HOLYSH*t…it was really really good so I have to give them one more star… I would definitely come back for that!

Edit: I am now giving this three stars because of the wonderful response by TLC. They have contacted me and made me feel much better. I won’t go above 3 stars for this location, but I can tell you that TLC cares about each and every customer. Guess they don’t like one person at a table. Two people seated after me were promptly waited on while I couldn’t even get water. I hope they left you a good tip there, Dennis. I know I would have, but instead I just left without anything. I work next door and won’t be back.

Exiting my vehicle I noticed a lot of assorted trash(cigarette buts, receipts etc extra…) around the building which made it look like a dump. As I entered the building I noticed that the atmosphere was dark with just the right amount of lighting. I noticed that the trash on the flood and the table we were escorted to was dirty and needed to be cleaned. The beer was cold and fantastic(what beer isn’t) and the steak I ordered was great! The service was very kind and hard working. I’ve had better but not a bad place for a decent dinner.

I’m surprised that so many reviewers have had bad experiences at this location. I’ve only experienced attentive service and consistently well cooked steaks. When my parents and cousins were visiting from out of state last fall, I brought them here as I have had decent service and decent meals here before. They liked the smoked sirloin so much that they asked to come back the next day. While not the absolute best steaks we’ve ever had in our lives or anything like that, for the price point, it is good enough. When TXLC was having a special on gift cards(pay $ 75…get $ 100), we bought a few cards. So we will be definitely be back.
