While froyo shops of every kind keep coming and going, TCBY keeps churning out the best tasting AND best texture products. I wish they had more locations but we drive almost 20 miles to go here because it’s that much better than the copycats.

Unbelieveably good stuff, and such a great staff! They know when I’m coming… I heart TCBY. Especially this TCBY. Go there. Now. Before they close.

The positive thing about froyo is as long as you know what flavors you like you’re not likely to have a bad experience with the food. I enjoy this place, the small kids area is very thoughtful and i for one like any business that makes kids feel as welcome as the parents. However, after doing froyo near my old apt for so long im sad to say this place doesnt measure up. You can try flavors, but there arent many and most are crazy exotic or kid friendly colorful vanilla flavored items. Call me crazy but i like the idea of self service froyo so i can take my time and not worry about a line forming behind me as i make decisions with an attention wandering 3 year old. Not a quick process. I also didnt like that you dont really know what comes with what size unless you ask. Im use to pay by the weight places, this place does by the scoop which leaves more room for variances in the amount you get each time while still paying the same price. I didnt get toppings because i didnt know if they were extra or included and how much my total might be. I got two scoops(2 kids cups) and still paid almost $ 6. Ive paid that much for a large container with toppings anywhere else. Good, but not good enough to keep up with the price. Convenience of location is the only thing keeping me coming here, and not for long once i get more acquainted with the locations of local businesses in my new area. Sorry guys, but $ 3 scoop of rainbow colored vanilla froyo doesnt excite me more than pb chocolate with fresh strawberries and hot fudge for under $ 3.

Why aren’t there more TCBYs left in this world? This is my ideal frozen yogurt. I think that might be because its closer to soft serve ice cream than to yogurt. They always have a few different flavor options, but I always stick to a small vanilla chocolate swirl in a cup with hot fudge and rainbow sprinkles. What can I say? I tend to regress when I walk in. The staff is always extremely friendly and courteous. If you’re curious about a flavor, they give you a sample. They aren’t stingy with the toppings either. If you tell them to stop because its enough for you but they think that it’s not a regular topping amount, they’ll actually charge you for the kids topping instead of for a regular topping. I think that’s really honest, good service.

Though it may not have the vast array self service toppings(what they have is adequate and of very high quality) or the self serve machines, this froyo is far above others in town. I had the blackberry soft serve on my last visit which was tart and smooth. Personally, the last time I had TCBY was on the PA turnpike over 10 years ago. The flavors have evolved with the times while the quality staying just as good as the days that skyrocket this chain and the frozen yogurt trend. So, until Pinkberry arrives in San Antonio, this is my choice for Frozen Yogurt.

I was glad to go in a frozen yogurt place and not see machines line the wall. They had a lot of flavors and they even had soft serve yogurt. I got a small waffle cone which was really good. If you want to take a break from self serve yogurt places, then come here.

It’s okay. TCBY has been around so long, it’s an oldy but goody. I am actually a pacciuga snob now and nothing else tastes quite as good as their gelato. But, I did get a low fat chocolate fix tonight with the sugar free chocolate chips and it worked. It will due for soft serve frozen yogurt with a large selection of toppings.

NOSTALGIA… I love it. I remember being a youngin and my mom taking me here whenever I felt bad or pretended to feel bad just for yogurt or just whenever I wanted it. Prior to this, it had been about 10 years since my last trip to TCBY. I always, always got one of two things, white chocolate mouse yogurt with almonds or with chocolate sprinkles, because I am 8 or sometimes act like it. We stopped in, I got a small cup of white chocolate yogurt with almonds and was so excited… until she said how much money she wanted from me… almost 6 bucks! Are you kidding me?! I wanted to scream that so badly! My honey paid and I was like«whoa, this stuff was always so inexpensive and wow… it HAS been a long time!» It was good, not great, a lot more«artificially sweet tasting» than I remember and the portions are so small. It was one thing and that’s nostalgic. I’ve had been yogurt/ice cream since my TCBY days and I believe now that after a 6 dollar cup of yogurt those days are in fact long gone. I know why this place just couldn’t last in Houston, hike in prices, decrease in sizes and apparent decrease in quality unfortunately, although I won’t lie and say I wasn’t excited to see it! I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t great or as great as I remember. TCBY and I said our goodbyes, with my last bite. Parting is such(artificially) sweet sorrow…

I remember in 92 when these places were pretty popular. The soft serve yogurt is still as good as I remember. They still have the classic White Chocolate Mousse. I noticed that they have added some other things too, the hand scooped yogurt was my kids favorite. Getting everything served up on a waffle cone was a big treat. And at less than 150 calories, and %97 fat-free It can’t be that bad for you. Not that I’m a real health guru, but I’m not too careless with myself. Overall TCBY still offers the same great product that you use to get back in 92, but now with some new hits. My boys loved it, so it’s a winner with me.
