No flavor in the Piccadillo taco meat, none, just none. The soft flour tortillas had a weird, almost soapy taste. I had a few bites and gave up on the flour tortillas. The beans were ok, the rice was simple and just ok also. Definately will need salt shakers available. Staff is friendly, but I doubt we will be back.

No… uumm… just NO! This place is disgusting the food was overcooked and under seasoned I literally was pissed off at my husband for bringing this home. Taco Bell serves better Mexican food than this place.

The staff is very friendly, but the location is not very sanitary. I found hair in my taco twice and honestly couldn’t eat it anymore. None of the staff wears gloves to prep the food. I wouldn’t go back here again.

Had ordered Bean and Cheese Nachos, Dab of Bean and little cheese melted very sad It used to be a great place. I could not believe just a Dab, Most places the cheese just melted over the beans. Not going back again.

The cash register lady does not wear gloves to handle or prepare food. Nasty! It’s right beside a medical center. How can you handle cash, shake hands with customers and then turn around and prepare the food? Nasty, I say. The same person also tried to charge me twice as much for an order. She said something about bacon costing more, but the«dollar menu» states that two tacos have bacon in them. Not cool, lady. I’m a germaphobe. That is not the restaurant for germaphobes.

I grew up right down the road, so I have lots of family memories at this Taco Kitchen. I am crazy about the bean rolls(w/onion) and their hot sauce is WONDERFUL. I have family members from all over Texas who want to go eat here whenever they’re home. The cheese enchiladas are also great!

Hands down, the BEST carne guisada tacos I’ve ever had! Not super salty like Taco Cabana, not bland like Los Barrios, Oblate Café or Blanco Café. They even surpassed Pete’s Tako House. It tastes like homemade, and is so flavorful and tender. Topped with real cheese and lots of it. Then it’s wrapped in soft, delicious flour tortillas. Perfection! The crispy beef taco was pretty standard fare. My husband remarked on how good the beans were, and that’s not usually something he’d care about, so they MUST be good!(I didn’t have any this time.) The service was fast and friendly, and our meal was more than affordable, again doing it better than the other places listed above. The sign hanging over the counter says it all: Not fancy, not expensive, just plain good!

Taco Kitchen is a cute little stop to fill up on all your Mexican food cravings. I was craving tacos and did a nice Unilocal search and Taco Kitchen appeared in my area, I decided to see what they had to offer. You walk in and there’s this giant menu on the wall with pictures and all… I love food pictures! The young man ringing me up was incredibly helpful and personable. I decided to go with their awesome $ 2.982 breakfast taco combo with drink and a picadillo taco(added potatoes). My food was ready in no time which made me wonder how my food was made so fast or if had been in a warmer. The bacon/egg taco was pretty good, bean and egg was fantastic, the picadillo was something I wouldn’t get again(too salty and had a weird texture and potatoes weren’t fresh). I noticed that the tortillas had a slight sweetness to them, I’m not a fan of this but others might be. Overall, staff was awesome, food was good, and prices are reasonable. Taco Kitchen has a lot to offer and I’ll be back to sample their lunch specials.

Any one who follows me, knows I have a hard time finding a taco place I like. This place got me. I had the bacon and egg breakfast taco. The tortilla was soft and fresh. The bacon was bits and the eggs were just right. But over all a good breakfast taco. I like the staff as well. The morning I went it was three friendly ladies who paid attention to the food and were still friendly with the customers. I hope to go back soon and see if they can do it two in a row.

Tacos were not good at all. The ground beef needs some work. Their price is cheap and they are friendly as can be, but the tacos I had today had no flavor. Good beans. Good rice. Lots of potential in my opinion.

Two Tacos plus a drink(coffee, juice, or soda) for $ 2.98, good deal for the morning. The tacos are good, although I have to admit, the tortillas are hot off the grill, but Chorizo and egg are only warm. The place is small with only 5 tables, so not suitable for a large party. I will come back.

Just flew in from CT and we were starving. In the mood for Mexican food but overwhelmed by all the available options so we decided to load up Unilocal.Just as we were passing by the sign for this place. I saw the reviews. Only 2 but both were extremely good so we thought we’d stop in. Honestly probably would have passed the strip mall otherwise. So glad we stopped. The order area reminds me of a Chinese take out place but the room next to it took me back to some of the kioskos we went to in P.R. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We also highly recommend and will be back again.

This place is the best and one of the places I most miss after moving away from San Antonio a few years ago. Recently came back for a few months and YAY, they are still there with the same nice ladies cooking up the same great hole-in-the-wall TexMex for cheap. I don’t know what they put in the refried beans, but they are yummy. Great breakfast tacos. We did Taco Tuesdays at work and the ladies always have the bag packed up and ready when I show up. Usually they get the whole order right, occasionally wrong, but here nothing is ever really wrong, it’s all good. Tacos range between $ 1 and $ 2.50 if you max out on extras. They are not large, but 2 is enough for a good breakfast, 3 if you’re really hungry. They also have lunch type plates, the whole menu is posted in photos across one whole wall of the restaurant. Enchiladas, tacos, etc. Give the bean rolls a try. Only four tables inside, but they have some outdoor seating now in a patio on the side of the shop. Basic fountain sodas plus iced tea are served in styrofoam cups. Eat-in orders are served in plastic baskets or on styrofoam plates with plasticware utensils. To-go order tacos are wrapped in foil and include little containers of their homemade hot sauce. They take cash and credit cards but you pretty much have to feed the whole office to spend enough to justify pulling out the plastic. My only gripes(besides that they didn’t follow me to Virginia when I moved) are that they aren’t open on Sundays and they only do barbacoa on Saturdays.

In a unassuming little strip center is a delicious little secret. This place is amazing there is nothing on the menu that disappoints but my favorite will always be the bean roles. They are ot open on sundays and they close at 3 :00 sharp so don’t be late. It is never a full visit to San Antonio without a stop here. And the salsa is very god to.
