Taco Cabana

Got a craving for there chips and queso, so we came by kinda late. The cashier was really nice and the place was clean, nice, and quiet! We tried the new steak fajita tacos and they were DELICIOUS! They used to be dry and had a heavy pepper flavor. These were tender and flavorful pieces of meat. We will start going to Taco Cabana again:-).

Been to two TCs in last three weeks… both had old/​fermenting pico & salsas, old/​wilted toppings like Cilantro and lemons… too bad… this used to be a decent place to grab a quick bite!

The food is cheap but you can definitely get better Mexican food at Tinka Taco right down the road. The best part in my opinion is the free salsa bar. The service at this restaurant ranges from awesome to poor. Most recently I went and the guy who packaged my food asked if he could help me take my food to my car and then asked if I had a boyfriend… awkward.

Not great! The fajita quesadilla was pretty tasteless, and hard to boot. I’ll skip this spot if I’m in the area.

Short description of Taco Cabana, Taco Bell-​ish with the option of alcoholic beverages… and I would choose Taco Bell all day, everyday & twice on Sunday than this place!
We should have known. As we drove 175+miles from College Station to San Antonio and saw that Taco Cabana & Chillis’ signage littering the highways more so than gas stations… that should had been the big indicators for the both of us. But after the very long drive the only two establishments that came into our exhausted minds were, you guessed it, Taco Cabana & Chillis’. Ugh!
Now knowing what they offer at Taco Cabana I would rather choose a bag of chips & a soda from 7-​Eleven to hold me over on any long drive around Texas. Keep on driving and wait for something else. Your wallet and stomach will thank you for it…

I have found hair in my food twice in the last month…
before this the food has always been good.
