We went in after lunch peak and had the best service I’ve had in ages. The food was fabulous and served at the same time! Allison was our server and her service was attentive and spot on. I’d ask to sit in her section every time.

The food is a bit pricey at normal hours but I am always here for Happy Hour! The cucumber saketini was refreshing and different from other cocktails in the area. I am not sure what the salt was on the rim but it was delicious! The edamame was great and nicely salted but not overly salted. I ordered the spider roll which wasn’t on the happy hour menu but still a reasonable price. It was very yummy and just spicy enough. My friend got the spicy tuna roll and Philadelphia roll and was very happy with the price and the amount! Our service was great and she was constantly checking in for more water and any other things we need. I will always suggest the Happy Hour which is why it receives 3 stars since the prices are a bit much otherwise.

Sushi Zushi has such great potential. Upscale décor with trendy music piped throughout. Fresh ingredients with enough business to keep it that way. Knowledgeable chefs, friendly wait staff, and quick service. So what went wrong? This should be a 5 star review… Unfortunately, my dinner plans began with an attempt to enter a delivery order on the web site at 8:35 p.m. only to be informed that the restaurant didn’t accept«future» online orders. I checked the operating hours and confirmed that the location closed at 10:00 p.m.(By my calculations 1 hour and 25 minutes from that moment) Okay, so they didn’t want to chance overtime by the delivery drivers. That’s acceptable. So I then attempted to enter a pick-up order with the same result. Not acceptable. Let’s jump in the car and drive the 1.2 miles to the restaurant and get a seat at the sushi bar. Fine by me, I can brush off the inconvenience of poorly implemented feedback on the web site. Well, except for the fact that the host glanced at the time on the computer monitor at the station and rolled his eyes.(Thought I didn’t notice, huh?) Once seated, I was greeted by the staff behind the sushi bar busily mopping up. OKAY, who was the genius that directed staff to mop prior to posted close? I completely understand how a restaurant works, but if you want to get staff out by 11, close at 9 instead of forcing patrons to experience the sights and smells of clean up. At least the chefs left the fish in the coolers until I departed. The food was spectacular… The unagi and anago was hot(as it should be) and the Saba was quite possibly the best I have ever had. To my surprise, the soft shell crab in the Spider roll was also warm, which was quite enjoyable. My server was pleasant, and the to-go order I placed was accurate and delivered just prior to the check which is exactly how it should be done. If management would just recognize that the huge investment in décor and ambiance is completely destroyed when staff preps for close before the posted hour, they would have many more regulars right up to close along with well earned 5 star reviews.

Yum! Their house special rolls were all amazing — I especially loved the one with the strawberry. Just enough sweet/savor wrapped up into one roll.

Love this place and will continue to frequent whenever I’m in the mood for great sushi, creative dishes, and really amazingly sweet people. The décor is appealing and inviting and an overall wonderful experience. Definitely try the soft-shell crab as well as their signature rolls. You will not be disappointed!

Go here during Happy Hour because they have the typical rolls of philadelphia, tuna roll, spicy tuna roll, and others for $ 4-$ 4.50 and they have a daily roll that’s half off!(However, the daily/specialty rolls are just ok). Even though it’s a chain restaurant the quality is good and the service is usually great. The prices for the rolls are reasonably priced. The interior is decorated very nicely and is a great place to go and eat out. This location is closer to school and some of my friends and I like to come here when we want a quick bite of sushi after school or during lunch for a good price. One of my favorite dishes to order at any sushi place is the Chirashi bowl, however, it’s not as nice when you order it for take out. It’s reasonably priced as well at $ 15.50.

It was OK. We both ordered the squid salad. I ordered the Oaklawn roll and the husband ordered the Riverwalk roll. Let’s start with the salad. It is now half the size it used to be, but still $ 4.50. So disappointing. The husbands roll had too much of a vinegar flavor to truly enjoy. My roll was quite good. Not too much interaction from the sushi chef. Service overall, was OK.

Been there the past two weeks and the service was very consistent. Wish I could remember the gentleman that serviced us both times but gave us some great recommendations. I am not a sushi fan but tagged along with a few others. He helped me find my way. Had a breaded chicken with curry sauce that was out of this world. Second time vegetable tempura. Now I have my go to’s next time I visit!

Yes, it’s a chain. And maybe it’s not the most authentic sushi ever. But it’s a convenient location with great drinks and a lot of veggie options. With a big menu, it’s sure to please most people! Veggie options: edamame, spicy edamame, shishito peppers, vegetable gyoza, seaweed salad, vegetable tempura, Japanese curry rice, zaru soba(a cold buckwheat noodles dish), Teppan fried rice with vegetables or tofu, mushroom takitori, vegetable or tofu teppanyaki, and several interesting sushi rolls! They have happy hour from 3 – 7 every day! Includes $ 5 cocktails and several discounted appetizers and rolls!

YUMYUM. I came here all of the time during high school while I lived in San Antonio & love it. They have a vast amount of sushi roll options, as well as Japanese comfort food if you’re not in the sushi mood. The last time I was here, I came for lunch and ordered one of their bento box options for $ 14. They give you a few of different rolls and nigiri, plus miso soup to start out with. I’m glad I went this route because they provide you with a lot of food with a great price! I couldn’t even finish it all. Come here for a nice meal and you won’t be disappointed!

I guess I’m spoiled by Japanese food in Cali… but mannnn this place sucks for the most part. The sushi is good for the most part but the rest of the menu sucks! Horribly sucks! Nothing but fillers! I got their tendon and got 3 skimpy looking shrimp and regular white rice… wow $ 10 for rice and skimpy shrimp. Really now? My girlfriend told me their katsudon is just about the same. SIMPLYPUT… ONLYBUYSUSHIATTHISPLACE! Honestly zushi sushi the rest of your menu is a disgrace to fine dining.

I think I’ve eaten here three times over the summer, every time right after landing at SAT airport because my husband buys me Welcome Home sushi. Honestly, it’s good. It’s not great, it’s not awful. It is however always very slow service. I’ve been during lunch hour, during the deserted 4pm swing and during dinner. I have never had great service here. Once I came here at about 5, with plans at 7 two blocks away. I always get the Bora Bora roll & the Strawberry roll, and a sampling of sashimi or a salmon roll depending on how I’m feeling. It took so long that I had to get my rolls to go and was still late. The manager even brought the To Go bag to me and apologized but that’s all. When I really want a sushi snack after flying in, this location is the place. But if I don’t want to be here all night, I’ll Pass. Oh! But the Happy Hour is great. $ 5 martinis and a select roll on sale.

Sushi Zushi offers a lot of indoor and outdoor seating with a nice laid back feel. The sis and I went for happy hour and they sat us right in front of the sushi bar, it’s nice if you like to hear«sushi chefs» talking about all the girls they ask out at work. We had two miso soups, the broth has a nice flavor with large tofu chunks, try it. The gyoza(5) were crispy and the pork filling is quite mouthwatering! We went safe and ordered a Philly Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll, both with no sesame seeds. I feel the salmon roll was poorly constructed but both were pleasing. I liked their happy hour offerings and will return to try more rolls and drinks.

Review for TAKE-OUT: Relatively slow considering there was only one other customer in the place(10min) Fresh sushi: the yellowfin tuna, the salmon, and the tuna were served in a sloppy cut, but they were very fresh and there was a lot of fish for $ 15. It’s a little out of the way, so returning isn’t probable, but I would say it does the job.
