Chinese Delivery! Plus burgers, ribs, dolmas, desserts, baked potato, soup, pasta salad, greek salads, sub sandwiches, appetizers. We have ordered from them a lot over the years and, yes, they have gotten the order wrong once or twice but they always make it right and send some sort of extra to apologize. The food is good, The calzones are bready and stuffed full, the Chinese food is meat heavy, they use the BIG shrimp, which is good for most folks but they load up big chunks of the tofu too. They remember your order and address. My address is now outside the current delivery area, i think, but I talked them into it by tipping accordingly. I should have reviewed earlier because I love them and they love me.

This place used to be good but recently it has changed ownership and Business is quite slow especially in the evenings so the food isn’t always that it’s freshest. What I do like is their fried squid, stirfried green beans, sesame chicken, and a few other items on the buffet of course the Mongolian Grill is the best since it’s made by you with items you desire and made by a Mongolian chef which knows exactly the flavor profile to complement your selected items. For a being such a limited buffet and not so good quality the price is high. The last time I went which was a few months ago during dinner which by the way was dead and had only about four other families we paid $ 10.95 a person plus drink. If anything I would only eat here during lunch since it gets really packed with all the military personnel(lackland afb is minutes away) so the food is fresh.

Our server was super duper awesome. The staff was very friendly which I totally appreciate. The atmosphere was fun, but the buffet was just kinda gross. I was craving sweet and sour chicken and maybe the chicken had been sitting out a while because it was really hard and super chewy. What a let down. Some things were tasty, like the crab rangoon and gg rolls. The wonton soup was gross, they really need a new recipe or something. Overall I was disappointed in the quality of some of the popular Chinese buffet items like the ones I mentioned, but the saving grace was the friendly staff and my kids liked it enough :)

I went there for a late lunch a couple days ago, very good food. The fried rice is exceptional, very flavorful and there were 3 types of fried rice when i was there. This was a Korean-Chinese type of place, there were a lot of Korean food on the buffet, i.g. Bulgogi, Kim Chi, Korean glass noodles etc… I enjoyed the food a lot. There’s also a Mongolian BBQ, make it yourself station that’s included with the Buffet. The buffet cost $ 7.75 and the drink is $ 2.25. Service was spot on, friendly waitress and cashier. Very clean restaurant. I highly recommend this Chinese buffet.

I went here against my better judgement because my parents wanted some kind of chinese buffet and I decided it was best to let them have it. Unfortunately, this was not a great experience. The place is small, the parking lot in front was basically empty, and the only thing going for them, and the only thing that really attracted my mom, was the Mongolian Grill they advertised. Good news first. The mongolian grill was decent. They have a pretty good selection of proteins ranging from the basic 3 meats(chicken, pork, beef) to seafood(scallops and octopus). Also, the cookery on the food wasn’t too shabby either, as it didn’t come out overly greasy or soggy. The shrimp toast is decent, though only for 1 or 2 tries, and the egg roll is pretty good too. On to the bad news… the place was basically empty on a Friday night save a couple that was finishing up when we came and two more couples that came in later. That’s an indicator of hard times for a restaurant as well as quality of food. The sushi, I tried once and didn’t try again. The food overall looked like it had been left out for a while, and the selection was quite small as well. Most of the selection was fried or heavily Americanized with very few vegetable dishes. The soups had skin forming on them, meaning not many people tried them. Also, the crab legs were left out in warm water under a heat lamp. As much as I like freshly boiled crab legs, this sight did not help my attitude as I started thinking about the incubator the crab legs were becoming for bacteria. I’m sorry, but I just didn’t get the sense of «good quality food» from my experience. The waitress was friendly, and the place seemed to be family owned and run, which makes me sad to give a 1-star review. However, it honestly looks like this place may be going out of business in the next couple of years if nothing changes.

*The Food* As mentioned in so many other reviews, the buffet was ‘meh’, but aren’t they all? On the other hand, the Mongolian BBQ was very, very good. Very flavorful, just the right amount of spice(but they offered Sriracha in case I wanted more) and fresh ingredients. I would totally come here again instead of driving up north to Huhot or another Mongolian BBQ place. *The Environemnt* The restaurant looked clean. They had a inspection report(albeit from 2010) with a 100 score posted, so I felt pretty comfortable eating there. *The Staff* Very friendly. The guy working the grill(middle-aged hispanic guy) for the Mongolian BBQ totally knew his sauces and served up a great plate of chicken, beef, octopus and vegetables. There was only one waitress on staff when I went, but she was very attentive and very good. *The Details* They have a good selection of Asian beers(in bottles) including Asahi. They serve their sodas from the fountain, not the can. They also offer free refills. They take credit cards. The fried bananas from their buffet were pretty good. *The Conclusion* The other Unilocalers nailed this one. The buffet wasn’t bad, but was kind of ‘meh’. Not the reason I would come back. But the price and the Mongolian BBQ will definitely bring me back in the future.

The Mongolian BBQ is great, but the buffett is pretty small with a small variety of dishes. Atmosphere is good and the service is fast and good. The only reason i will go back is for the Mongolian BBQ.

When I think about visiting San Antonio I ponder on how can I fit this place into my eating schedule. I have been eating at this place for over 15 years, ever since it was at its old location off Military Dr. I very rarely eat at buffets because most have not even touched the caliper of the Mongolian style cooking done at this place. As posted by others, the English in this place is not the best, but they are always eager to please. It used to be(in the early days) when you gave the metal bowl to the cook on the Mongolian side he asked«how you like it, spicy, not so spicy» I think at one time this is all the English he know, but he always did a great job with all the sauces, flavors and spices. Since a major portion of the people who eat here are military, a good portion of them have actually been to the orient and ate food there. This helps to validate the quality of food prepared in this establishment. When I think of Mongolian style cooking this will always be the first place I think about.

I love this place! The food is good and fresh. They have Mongolian BBQ and Chinese food on the buffet line. The staff is friendly although their English isn’t that great so sometimes its very hard to understand their questions. What they lack in language skills they more than make up for in eagerness. It’s super inexpensive and worth more than what they charge. There are always lots of military personnel here since it’s about 30 steps away from Lackland’s front door. Good food, even better price.

Their chinese buffet could be a little more solid but how can you not like a place that gives you the options of Mongolian BBQ and Chinese? This is a regular lunch spot for military folk, you cannot beat the prices for what you get. I love this place, my only complaint is that it isn’t any bigger!

We go here for lunch every so often. They feature a combination of a chinese buffet and Mongolian BBQ for about $ 7. It’s a wonderful value. Is it the best or most authentic Chinese food in San Antonio? No. But it is better than many of the table service Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in town and the selection of buffet food is impressive. In addition to the usual fare they have things like Sichuan green beans, mussels, etc. The service is pretty good here and the staff very friendly. I suspect that it is owned by a retired military guy and his Taiwanese wife as these two seem to be there every time we go and keep a close eye on the operation.
