STITCHES FROM THE HEART

This is a fantastic cross stitch store (not really art supplies). We have been coming here for about 5 years. They are in a strip mall on the westbound side of 1604 close to I-​10.
They have everything that a cross stitcher could possibly want — patterns, threads, fabric and supplies. They also have a framer.
The ladies are friendly and extremely helpful, willing to look through suppliers for special patterns. Customers are welcome to bring their work in and stitch at a table.

I went here the other day while on vacation in San Antonio. If you love cross stitch or hand embroidery this place is awesome. I thought this store had a great mixture of charts, colors, linens, aida, etc. I’m still in my 20’s and a lot of the time I’ll go in a place and not find anything that I like, but this place has a great selection of more modern designs as well. I also liked some of the really unique linens they had which will add so much to the great charts I bought there :) The prices were reasonable and similar to how much the stuff costs online. It isn’t as cheap as getting some of the stuff from Michael’s, but you are getting much better quality. Their hand dyed floss is simply gorgeous, they have even weaves in every size, plus they serge the edges for free. I like that they had a remnants basket with small cuts for good prices. Another bonus was how friendly everyone was. I didn’t feel judged (for not being quite like the normal customer there) and no one was pushing any products, but I could easily get help when needed. I bought a ton of stuff here and next time I’m in the area I will definitely be coming back!
