First time here 2÷12÷26 and the Beef ribs were brunt & dry. Swapped out for pork ribs which were somewhat better. Bbq chicken was awful. No flavor, not cooked through. Seemed more baked than bbq’d based on the outside skin. No crispness at all. Beans tasted canned even with some added jalapeño. Potatoe salad & coleslaw was ok. The swet Tea tasted like the water or ice was dirty. Overall, bad. will not be coming back.

Went on Monday — Closed. Called on Tuesday — No Answer. Open? Closed for good? The world may never know.

Had a brisket sandwich special with potato salad. The meat was half fat, good smoky flavor but way too much fat. Sauce too watery. It was ok. May try something else if I ever go back.

Good bbq run by a family. I’ve had both the sausage and chopped sandwiches. Both were very good & they make their own sauce with is unique because its not the typical Texas style. Instead its more sweet and vinegary. The dining area is decorated with interesting items & memorbilia. I saw posters for local musical acts that perform at the restaurant at specified times. There’s a small stage area to accomodate. Very neat place — also have smoked turkey legs on the menu so you don’t have to wait for the fair or carinval. Will definately go back and order more menu items. Gilbert and his wife are always very nice to deal with.

oh, man. i really want to like this place. husband and wife/brother and sister team(not sure) have a nice little place. very clean, ample parking, and just small enough to feel at home. the q was decent. the smokey crust was good. but, and this is a big but, if you don’t slice brisket properly, you might as well feed it to the dogs. taste. check. ability to eat meat cut with the grain. fail. decent sausage. couldn’t try the pork shoulder ’cause they were already out when i placed my order at 1:30. i prefer a carolina style sauce and this was an outstanding thin vinegary slightly sweet sauce. obviously made in house, because it was that good, i didn’t try the sides; i just wanted to get a taste of the pit and master. the pit is working just fine. the master just needs to pay a bit more attention to his knife skills.
