I went here about a year ago and had split pea soup, it great! Sandwiches are great, lots of meat, just too pricey for a sandwich.

Came in, got ignored while the staff talked to each other, and then got treated like I was walking in at closing time even though it was at least an hour before. Got the steak sandwich and it was ridiculously chewy. I won’t be back.

I’ll first start off by saying, I am a former employee of Sogo, and was waiting until my departure to write this review. Ill be as unbiased as possible, which I’m sure will not be hard. I had eaten here one time before I started working here. I had the Smoked Chicken Panini. I thought it was very original with the fresh chipotle mayo and daily-picked cilantro. This originality was a big part of working there. I had no need interest in working at a restaurant, but this place changed my mind. The concrete sandwich/salad menu doesnt have a single bad choice on it.(And, that is coming from me as a patron, and not someone whos’ interest is vested within the company.) My favorites would be the Prime Steak Sandwich(a toasted baguette roll, sliced down the middle, dressed with a line of fresh horseradish sauce on each side, perfectly sliced prime cut beef, topped with a generous helping of caramelized onions and and 3 slices of white cheddar cheese – then toasted in the panini press, to a golden crisp). My mouth is currently watering. As for the salad of choice, many get the kehmay salad. Its a great mix of romaine lettuces, edamame, feta cheese, smoked chicken slices, avocado, red onions, tomatos and a house mix of fresh herbs, topped with the Lemon Vinaigrette. But, my favorite would be the red beet and bleu cheese salad – Baby Green lettuce, roasted red beets, naval orange slices, red onions, grape tomatos, crumbled blue cheese, and a handful of candied pecans, tossed with the sweet/touch-of-sour Citrus Balsamic Vinaigrette. They also have a great chalkboard menu, which changes daily – usually contains one soup, pasta, pizza, and a variety of hot sandwiches and entrees. GETTHEREUBEN. ITSTHEBESTEVER. People call in every day asking if we had the reuben. its an addiction. No, really, they tried to send me to rehab for it(but, i said no, no, no). I cannot stress how fresh all the ingredients are. I would be repetitive if I had told you how so in the descriptions. Every single dressing is made in house, from the peppercorn ranch, to the lemongrass vinaigrette. For what Chef Mark was trying to target, he surpassed all expectations of a neighborhood«sandwich shop». It is a gourmet restaurant. Even though its a bit hidden from the main street of Stone Oak Pwky(at hardy oak), its shines in it’s quality and taste the city over. And, with the dedicated staff, it doesn’t get any better. Try it once and you’ll be a regular. I’ll be a fan for as long as they let me.

I got the impression while dining that Chef Arriola has bigger plans than a simple soup and sandwich shop. The entire restaurant gave indications that it desired to be something more: the menu features a daily plate special that is a far cry from soup or salad. The market aspect — featuring a handful of gourmet food items and across a couple of racks that serve more to direct traffic than anything else — too, seemed out of place. The bulk of the menu consisted of sandwiches, and I opted for an Ahi tuna salad. The sandwich was not unlike a typical tuna salad, but the big, fresh chunks of tuna made it above average. The fresh ciabatta roll was nice, too, though I was perplexed at the observation that there appeared to be marks from a panini press on the top of the roll, yet it was cold. I thought the menu items only came with the sandwich, so I grabbed a bag of chips to go with the meal, only to find that the sandwich came with a small amount of freshly-made chips. While always better than the bagged kind, these appeared as if they were roasted or grilled BEFORE they were fried, which was an interesting take, but didn’t really make it any better than a typical freshly-made chip. Still very good. While the sandwich was better than average, I got the impression that the better menu items are in the pasta salads or the daily specials, and hopefully, Chef Arriola will open a restaurant that will be better able to accompany everything he wants to do. Until then, SoGo is a too-big-for-its-britches sandwich shop that makes some above-average product.

I’m really glad I stopped in. This place is right down the street from work, so it’s super convenient but it would definitely be worth the drive if it were further away. The SoGo club was pretty tasty and HUGE. The ingredients were so fresh. The homemade chips are the perfect touch. Get the curly fries only if you have someone to share with. And what do they put in their ketchup? It has a nice little kick to it and it is GOOD. Many different types of deli items available and aside from being a sweet little café, it’s a market too! You can buy salad by the pound, a jar of olives and a 6 pack of Woodchuck apple cider on the way to your next barbeque. The desserts looked so good, but i was so full from my food I had no more room for that GIANT slice of carrot cake that was calling my name from the dessert case window. Some might say it’s a tad on the pricey side for a bunch of sammiches… and I guess it can be depending on what you order. But it’s worth it!

I stopped in this sandwich shop on the way to a baseball practice for a «quick bite.» That was a mistake, because it’s not a Subway. However, even though it took longer to order and get my food than I expected, I was pleased. I would like to go back and order something else, which they have a huge variety. I ordered the Chicken Salad which was perfect in my opinion! It had Chicken Curry, which I love with red grapes. It was served on a Ciabatta bread, which I thought was too tough of a bread for the chicken salad and there were issues with the salad squishing out!(Not a drive and eat sandwich!) My son got a basic ham and cheese, but swore it was the best sandwich he’s had(besides the ones I make of course!) Other items that I saw that looked great were falafel or lamb and goat cheese pita. I’ll be getting one of those on my next visit! There is a 2nd menu by the register, that I wish was more prominent. It had the day’s specials and included some real entrees, not just sandwiches. No one mentioned these options to me, and the sandwich special was actually what I really wanted to order!(A Reuben) It also offered a cheese plate, which is good to know for the future. I would like to go in and sit down next time, to enjoy my food at a leisurely pace and take in the environment. It is decorated well and has a coffee shop/modern deli feel to it. The prices are higher than an average deli, but the food is of a very high quality.
