Pretty small place, if you need the popular items(Jack, Bacardi etc.) its okay.

There are those places where you frequent just because you happen to be in the area and maybe you might not normally go there. On a day when my search for books became fruitless I turned to my next favorite past time: hunting for beer. Although Sin City Liquors is much further from my neck of the woods, if ever I happened to be in this area again I would go. In many respects it reminds of Pig Liquors minus the quirkiness. In its place is an ultra small store that carries a specific variety of wines, liquors and of course beer. Like PL the selection is small but to the point. For example the beer choices ranged from Odell, Deschutes, Lagunitas, Prarie Artisan etc. with a heavy emphasis on Texas breweries. I was able to score a bottle of the Real Ale’s, The Swords-Ghost Eye, a beer I see on tap but not in most major stores. The person working the counter was funny as hell, extremely knowledgeable and made the visit well worth it. He had a drawl like a dude that used to work at a Stop –N-Go, back in the day. For some reason he kept calling me «papis» rather than, «mijo» which if nothing more is a sign of my age. Even having each individual bomber wrapped in small paper bags(AKA Mexican Koozies) reminded me of my old hood. I really like this place. Although it is smaller than the stores I am accustomed to going to the selection is straight to the point. The prices for items is not much more than if you went to Specs or Total Wine & More. The service has that personal touch. And anyplace where the counter person is trying to pawn Southerner Star’s can of «Black Crack«on you knows you’ve got a sweet tooth for craft beer.

From the first three steps inside the door I knew this would be a pleasant experience and it was. I was immediately greeted and assured that help was just a question away. A smaller spirit selection compared to corporate stock but that is hardly a draw back. The staff was knowledgable, eager to help, and probably some of he best d@mn customer I’ve had since moving to San Antonio.

The store itself is pretty small. But they have a pretty decent selection of craft beer. The staff was very nice, helpful, and informative. I will definitely go back

A local craft beer unicorn in a herd of crafty donkeys! There’s a pretty great selection of wine, booze, and — most importantly — craft beer at Sin City, but the staff makes it phenomenal.. totally dialed in to craft beer in general and the San Antonio scene in particular, and if there’s something you’re looking for that’s not currently stocked, they go out of their way to make it happen, whether that’s getting on their shelves or directing you elsewhere. Rockin! No availability of singles, but locally-owned and a more individualized shopping experience trumps Spec’s all day.

This place is amazing. The staff is awesome and if you are looking for a good craft beer go no further. They can help point you out to what you may or may not like and know what they are selling. They have second Saturday tastings as well from 4 – 7!
