Went on the 13th of February, 2016. Had confirmed reservations for 8:45 pm. came at 8:30 and checked in. Went to bar to wait on seating. at 9:00 pm, went and checked and was 6 on the list to be seated. At 9:30 went back and I was next. I checked on our new friends we met at bar and they were still 3 on the list with the same reservation time of 8:45. So I asked if they wanted to join us and we were seated at about 9:40PM. Got our drinks. and menu’s. But the waitress did not come back to the table. After about 15 minutes, i got up and found an assistant manager who actually came to our table and took our orders. Now we are close to 10PM. Food was good. Wine was exceptional, but the service was lousy, and the idea of over booking and being understaffed at the same time is not acceptable. I have never had to wait that long for a booked reservation. When you spend $ 300.00 on wine and dinner you expect first class service and food.

Miserable, miserable, miserable experience!!! Have had over 20 Anniversary dinners here, have bought lots of gift cards on an annual basis, and have had 4 – 5 business dinners here since they opened in the 1990’s. Tonight, because we sat down at 5:40 and NOT6:00, we were not allowed to order off the the regular menu. The only menu we were allowed to choose from had very few Gluten Free options. Actually, neither appetizer was GF. Complained to manager, but she didn’t seem to care. Fish made wrong and replacement arrived after desert. How do you bring out the meal after desert? How do you not let the customer order what they want for dinner??? They have gone way down hill. Should have gone to Whataburger where we could have had it our way. Cancelled future dinner meeting, with client, from phone while at my table and booked Fleming’s. Amazingly disappointed ;( P. S. Be sure to ask for Main Dining room, if you go, as back meeting room dinner atmosphere is not romantic.

We spent $ 148.31(before the tip) for 2 people and the food was not good with the exception of 1 appetizer(fried zucchini sticks). Ribeye steak was under cooked and tough, Shrimp Orleans was delivered cold, Baked potato under cooked. The only positive was the service was good and the Michelob Ultra was cold. I would put Salt Grass and Longhorn Steakhouse above this place & both would have been a third of the price. Never again

They disappointed me on my small wedding lunch! They cut my cake without asking. They steaks were not great! They even claimed to redo my wedding lunch than canceled that as well because of new management. Never got a call back!

My wife and I had thanksgiving dinner their yesterday. The meal was absolutely terrible. It was served on a little sides plate with absolutely no presentation at all. The turkey tasted terrible like a Jenny O turkey breast that you buy at the supermarket. I suppose it was a mistake to go to a steak house on our part for thanksgiving turkey. In my opinion they should never offer that again. Horrible dinning experience.

I think I died and went to 90s heaven(which, my aged yuppie friend, is a bit of a far cry from the regular one). Near-perfect service, near-perfect steaks. I’m a ribeye guy myself, but my wife’s filet is where it’s at. The other parts of the meal were fine. It felt like the Olive Garden design team tried to style a club and sold the result for some quick cash, and we came to eat in the little time capsule more than twenty years later. Oh, the Clinton years. Additional dings for the shady location. But let’s think about context: San Antonio is not exactly the bastion of a beef Renaissance, so I guess we’re doing the best we can with what we have.

Went last Friday during lunch. The seared tuna appetizers if excellent. My filet(ordered rare-char) came out on a hot plate, contrary to asking for a cool plate. They rectified that immediately, but the filet wasn’t the most tender. They claim prime, but this was either a bad cut, or simply wasn’t prime grade. Some bites were difficult to cut and i had to make sure I was cutting against the grain so it wasn’t chewy. I never brought this to the waiter’s attention as my group already gave me a «high maintenance» tag from the«cool plate.» C’est la vie. I would highly recommend the zucchini fries. The new bar design is also a home run. Our service was also great overall(waiter’s name was Art). All in all, in a city with many nice steak options, it’ll probably be awhile before I make it back unless someone else is calling the shots.

As usual, my New York strip cooked medium was virtually flawless. Thank You! We started with two appetizers, the Voodoo Shrimp, and the Scallops, both perfect! So my concern with this visit was service and dropping of standards, frankly we are spoiled by Ruths Chris normally and they set the bar. They have a dress code posted and it clearly states No Ball Caps, not one, but two tonight? Come on! We come here for a more formal atmosphere, if I wanted ball caps I’d go to Tilted Kilt or the like. Maintain. Service is our second concern, my wife’s water ran dry twice, we had wine as well, help me understand this. We were spoiled for years here with our favorite waiter, it has not been the same since…

Eisai Hosts Jason & John provided perfect venue & agenda for Speaker James to update recent medication advances. Mashed potatoes may not be at the top of anyone else’s list, but they top mine — perfect, & the filet was excellent, along with the prompt service. Never been disappointed here, & don’t expect to, ever — great venue, food quality, & service.

Just finished a meal with our family. We bought the kids with us and we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. My 7 year old are all her food!!! I enjoyed how tender and juicy the filet was and the sides were equally delicious. We will be returning soon and fine regularly during lunch! If you haven’t experienced Ruth’s Chris… you need to go.

Awesome food, decent drinks, and great service by Elvoy. My server had jokes and an overall sense of humor. Even though I sat in the bar — excellent service wasn’t compromised!

Took my wife out to eat there yesterday, and the food was amazing! Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The only downside to our experience was that they forgot we were there for a special occasion. When I called to make a reservation, they asked if we were celebrating something, I told them yes, my wife’s birthday. When we arrived and checked-in they asked again if we were celebrating something, I told them we were there for my wife’s birthday. We were sat at our table, the server asked if were celebrating a special occasion, for the 3rd time I said yes, my wife’s birthday. She was very nice and said they will do something special. Food was served, our dessert came, and then the check. Where was the«something special» to celebrate her birthday! I guess the something special was the check. :) Again, food was great, server was very nice and attentive, but after asking if were celebrating a special occasion three times, nothing was done! Oh well.

If they cut prices in half, it would probably be a 3-star restaurant. As-is, however, it is not worth it. Dishes we had: Chicken and andouille gumbo — completely flavorless and pointless Scallops — overcooked and bland Filet mignon — I’ll grant that the texture was excellent, but there was no flavor to the meat Ribeye — not very tender Creamed spinach side — bland Strawberry shortcake dessert — from a flavor and quality perspective it seemed like something HEB would have on sale Service was friendly and attentive, but for the cost of the meals and the utter lack of flavor, this restaurant is absolutely overpriced and not deserving of a second visit.

The only good thing about this experience is that we had a gift card and didn’t pay for the whole meal. Let’s start with us getting seated 25 minutes after our reservation time(with an added slice of rudeness from the hostess). Our food service took forever, and when it finally came out, the steak was fatty, undercooked and bland. My wife’s fish was also bland and horribly under seasoned and the sides were terrible. The icing on the cake was the waiter in the passageway too busy in conversation with another waiter to let us get by them. There about 10 other places in town that are better than this place.

Had a great time here with my family. We spent like $ 600 on food; it was fantastic. The manager even gave me and my wife a complementary crème brûlée to celebrate our matrimony. Never been to Ruth’s Chris before. So for my first trip I was a bit skeptical about it and how high the prices were. The place is well kept and the service was good. The food was phenomenal and we all left full. No 5 star though: * At first the waiter was a little too serious and needed to let his hair down. After a while of talking and joking with him, he began to lighten up which was great. But, at first I wasn’t getting a friendly vibe. * My brother took a good 20 minutes explaining to the waiter how he wanted his $ 60 steak cooked. When the steak came out, there was blood everywhere. So much for medium well +. Overall, in the end, we had a great time. I recommend this place and would not be opposed to returning.

Stopped to have dinner after a long day in the sun knowing we might be underdressed but there is an outside patio available for such occasions. Meals was awesome. Our waiter, Anthony, was the best!

Absolutely love Eating here. They have remodeled the entry at the Colonade location. Love what they did with it. Bar and waiting area updated and upgraded. Love the vibe. They have added an outdoor patio for eating as well. I have never been disappointed here. Always excellent service and food.

I don’t typically rate national chains but this exception is necessary and well deserved. Ruth’s Chris is our go to for exceptional food and service and we particularly like the Jones Martsberger location. Superb anniversary dinner last night. Perfect petite filet medallions, shrimp and lobster. Perfect sizzle and presentation and superb service. Friendly, attentive and not over done. Just like we prefer. Also appreciate how the managers check in to see if there’s anything else they can do to improve on the flawless evening. And the dessert trio is the perfect ending… no kidding you have to partake in one. Love the new décor too.

My sweetheart and I decided to come here for our two-year anniversary, and it was by far the best decision we have ever made– besides promising each other to be together forever. ;-) We were treated like celebrities from the moment we stepped in. We had made reservations for 8:00, and had noted in the reservation that it was our anniversary. We received happy«congratulations» from the hostess, the wonderful and accommodating manager who seated us and surprised us by spreading rose petals on the tablecloth, and from our server, Jeannie(please forgive me if I spelled your name wrong!) Wonderful steak can be found in several different places in town. That’s standard. But being made to feel like the only two guests in the entire establishment was priceless for our special night. As I said before, the steak was mouth-watering, melt-in-your-mouth. Our steak fries were crispy, and dressed with sun dried tomatoes, rosemary, and garlic. Delish. Our wine was silky and sweet. In between this fantastic food experience, Jeannie ensured we were treated like royalty. Her attentiveness and genuine care was unlike any experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I would eat dirt if it meant being served and waited on by Jeannie. As we finished our meal, there was one more surprise in store for us. Complementary coffee and a miniature dessert trio of chocolate mousse, chocolate cheesecake, and berry crème brûlée. What a sweet(ha), thoughtful, and perfect ending to a perfect night. Additionally, we left with a picture of us, taken by Jeannie and placed in a sweet keepsake frame for us to take home. Honestly, what a night! Ruth’s Chris, Thank you. You provided us with the most memorable, sweet, and exquisite dinner for our special night. You have patrons for life!

3.5STARS based on dining experience and cost vs. taste. The food was good but not great… We had reservations. Here we go! Free valet is nice and the drivers are very friendly. The hostess was also nice and they seated us right away. Our table was in the very back corner which was secluded and romantic. Our waiter, wont list his name(see reciept) was not friendly; just did his job. This is high end dining. Make it an awesome experience idiots. SALAD: The Harvest salad was bad ass! The taste was certainly one of a kind that mixed a distinct flavor blend of sweet and salty. The greens were crisp not flat. 5 Star Salad. White Wine: «Whitehaven» Totally the one Ill buy over the counter. Its top notch in smoothness, sweetness and bitterness. It blended so well you could literally drink a glass before the appetizers arrive. MAINCOURSE: I went with the Cowboy Ribeye, medium temperature. It really was nothing to talk about. The presentation was weak. Chef Ramsay would be pissed. Besides the nice charbroiled flavor on the thin parts of the cut the steak lacked deep flavor. Maybe they want you to sprinkle salt on it yourself but I would never disrespect the chef like that. The steak did not cut through smoothly with the provided steak knife. Cheap knife? It was chewy and there was a large piece of fat that wasnt worth eating. Thats hard to swallow on this $ 65 steak. I sided it with a 1lb potato which was borderline a 1 pounder. It was not healthy looking and rather boring. For an $ 11 baked potato that came plain with a ‘diy’ array of cheap condiment cups it was weak in presentation. The potato was properly baked though. DESSERT: My chocolate mousse cheesecake was awesome. The whipped cream topping tasted home made and the mousse certainly was the lightest and most fluffy mousse Ive ever tasted. The cookie crust bottom was light and crisp as well. Their regular cheesecake was not steller and needs more lasting cheese flavor and overall richness. Do the chocolate mousse! CONCLUSION: They need to make a $ 222 meal worth talking good about. They should make you feel like a million bucks. A glass of wine should be complimentary, they should offer a sample dessert platter for like $ 22 that a couple can enjoy together. Their dinner rolls/bread needs huge improvement; heck Golden Corral has them beat on rolls and thats sad. When they bring out their baked potato the toppings should be served on a lazy susan or something presentable and the butter should be premelted that you based on. The bacon bits should taste fresh and soft not dry, crunchy and sweet. Why were the bacon bits sweet? Overall I’m gonna say Bob’s Steak House is better and for the same price. But thats just me. Ruth needs to get back in the kitchen and show Chris whats up. #BigMoney
