The COSA Parks Department(or the County) can definitely show this park some TLC but all in all, it’s a pretty neat park situated directly on the Leon Creek Greenway. It’s a shame to see all of that trash piled up at the entrance and all along the water… I pick up what I can, but I am only one person! There are speed bumps so the park is definitely walker /biker /jogger friendly. Plus, they’ve got soccer fields, baseball fields, football fields complete w/field goal posts, and plenty of wide-open spaces for you to run around in, or in my case, to fly my drone around and capture some great footage :) There’s ample parking, various BBQ areas with picnic tables, lots of playground equipment, clean restrooms, and party pavilions available for rental. I like how the trail from Rodriguez Park connects with the trail at Levi Strauss Park, so you get two birds with one stone. It’s a little out of the way, but if you’re looking for a nice park to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, put Rodriguez Park somewhere on your list for next time you’re in the area.
