Cakes are too sweet but good. Also, the milkshakes are really good. Service was bad. There is a guy who works at the grill at the back who did a great job attending people, but the lady at the counter had horrible service.

Really love the place. I came in here this afternoon and beside their great beverages and baked goods, they have a very nice atmosphere and vibe. Reasonable price.

I just got back from a trip to Mississippi where I had the most delicious beignets ever! I was taken to Rise bakery today as a surprise and got to have their beignets– absolutely phenomenal; rivaling the beignets in MS. Will absolutely come here to satisfy my beignet craving

The place was dirty. The barista/cashier didn’t have the espresso machine clean. For as slow as it was, you would think the place would be immaculately clean. It was so not. The whole café was dirty and needed someone to come clean. As far as the items we ordered. Just two drinks. The Mexican hot chocolate and an iced caramel latte. The hot chocolate was too spiced. I couldn’t taste the chocolate. Just spicy. Too bad because the spice was close to right. The latte was so so. All-in-all I don’t think I’ll be back.

Ahhh what not to say about this awesome place… great scenery, great staff, great food and awesome place to come and get lunch or breakfast. I’m out here visiting from California and i try not to go to chain restaurants or fast food. If you are looking for a nice delicious place to eat… this is somewhere you will enjoy. Food came out quick everything is made in house and if you are craving a delicious pastry! ! Come one and all

Another great location to sit and relax with friends. Didn’t take long at all to get my order back. Tasted great. The couch and sitting arrangements were a but plush, but that’s me being nit-picky. Can’t wait to come back!

Great food! Great service! LOVE the menu. My only concern was the«need to clean» They bakery could use a good spring cleaning. Various items under the cabinets: table(that I could see) were dirty, old, and rusted. Boxes in the kitchen were visible and randomly placed. Plus the glass near and around cookie counter needs cleaning. Recommend the owner/manager discard the old items and clean throughly. I will go back and try not to look around. The servers were great as it was very busy.

Great place for lunch. Their baked goods are really good as well. I got the turkey pesto panini and an order of éclair’s for later and both were really good.

Came in because of the strong Unilocal reviews, and now I am a fan too! Large selection of tasty fresh baked goods: like snickerdoodle cookies, orange and coffeecake muffins, kolache(sausage/cheese & various fruits), biggie-sized cinnamon rolls and a terrific latte to go with it all. A comfortable place to sit, study, read, work, or simply stare at the walls festooned with bizzaro art for sale of dinosaurs in space.

They have excellent cinnamon rolls and their orange cream muffin is delicious. Everything I have eaten there was tasty. The service friendly and the prices reasonable. The quantity of available items could be better.

Walked in and everyone was so friendly. I ordered a Cajun burger, it was the beez kneez. The prices were even the cat’s pajamas. Check this place out and you won’t be disappointed.

I don’t want to be a reviewer who easily doles out 5 star reviews. However if I can’t find a legitimate critique, then I think they deserve the best honors. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. We’ve been 2x’s now this week alone and have not had anything that disappointed us. The cinnamon rolls are perfectly traditional, the sausage kolaches are creatively different, the beignets are awesome and the oatmeal hardy. See, we’ve sampled a lot. I think what surprised me the most was the price. Compared to our favorite bakeries from home, this place has great value. Considering the attention to detail on everything we’ve eaten, I expected higher prices.

I love it here. So much variety — if I’m feeling like really sweet pastries one morning, they’ve got it covered. If I want a great salty sandwich, they’ve got it covered. And, of course, my favorite: The White Chocolate Mocha is always sweet, strong, and full of flavor. Way more reasonable prices than a lot of trendy coffee shops and they will ALWAYS make it your way. The people here are always so friendly, ask how my day is going, smile and make me feel welcome. It always makes my day better to pop in here for some coffee and food!

My husband and I went to get work done and eat a meal. When we walked in, no one was there with laptops to work. I got the sense this place doesn’t have that atmosphere. We decided to eat and take out our laptops anyway. I got the California burger and my husband the bbq burger, both with Cajun fries. He got a strawberry milkshake and I the chocolate milkshake. The chocolate milkshake was good. The strawberry one tasted like nesquick strawberry. Our burgers were okay. Turns out the pesto and avocado flavors don’t mesh, at least not on this burger. The bun was good but overpowering to the burger. The burger was bland, not juicy, and the flavor was off. The Cajun fries had amazing flavor but they were soggy. Overall, I don’t get the sense that this place is meant to be a laptop, working place. I will give them another chance to try their pain is and coffee.

This place is great!!! We came in regrettably on Christmas Eve morning since I had to work at our office in San Antonio. We were a bit hungry and had the drive back to Austin so decided to stop in since it was one of the few places open at the time. Not feeling the breakfast there(vegetarian) I decided to see if I could get a sandwich. They happily offered to make me the pesto and cheese panini at 9:45 in the morning! My boyfriend opted for a cinnamon roll and a ham kolache. Along with my sandwich, I got to sub in a double fudge cookie. FORTHEWIN! This place advertises that all their goods are homemade and baked fresh in house. BOY, do I believe it. My boyfriend said the ham kolaache was one of the best he had ever had. It was packed with ham and looked great. The cinnamon roll was PERFECT. it was fresh, and the dough was very soft and pliable… you know this puppy was fresh that day. The icing was also delicious. Such a good cinnamon roll. These are tough to find nowadays. I’ll admit, the frosting is a bit overkill and it’s thick… but it’s a CINNAMONROLL. When they’re frosted like this… you have to expect it will be sweet! Get some coffee and settle down. My sandwich was great. I would have liked the cheese to be a bit more melted but hey, at that hour in the morning… I don’t expect them to have their grill fired up. The cookie, which I ate later, was perfect. Chocolatey, dense, and just the right texture. Spot on. The people here were so pleasant and great to have been there on Christmas Eve. Now, I am excited to go to San Antonio because that means I’ll probably be eating here!

I had high hopes for the beignets here, but Louisiana remains the only place I’ve had truly great ones. The southern hospitality of LA was here though, and I love the little games on tables from the toy store next door. Mocha Valencia is a tasty beverage option here, but the beignet was a bit too heavy– props for being able to order a single one rather than just the set of three stated on the menu. I prefer mine without, but they are apparently typically served here with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Location itself is a bit tricky to get to– the entrance to the lot is just after the building and is easily missed. Sweet kolaches, blueberry muffins, and cinnamon rolls are also popular treat items here.
