Texas. In a glass. Me and a buddy decided on a whim to come to this distillery. Why not? Support your local businesses. Now, before I continue, aficionado’s don’t crucify me for my lack of technical spirit knowledge. We took the free tour and acquired an appreciation of how whiskey is produced. This is a nice place to come and chill. Lots of free liquor tasting. I ended up buying a batch one of their new whisky that is coming out. I will be saving that for a special occasion in the future. Great environment and even better people.

Peach vodka. I could stop there but I have to mention what makes this place an awesome weekend outing… Free sampling, friendly staff/bartender and free tour. Nice merchandise and an outdoor area where you can pass the time with a game of darts. I am writing this at 6am, so I have to keep it short. Just trust me and go!!! I mean if you were interested enough to look it up and then you read my review you definitely fit the profile of a person who will enjoy Rebecca Creek Distillery.

One star because, I like that it is from Texas and the bourbon. Negative stars for customer service, and the disappointment. We had visitors with us from Denver. Web site states open Mon-Fri 10 – 5 and on the hour for tours, however sign on door says holiday hours 12 – 5. I get it, its the holiday, went to lunch, came back at 12:30. Walked in, were rudely greeted and told they were only open on Saturday. No sorry, no taste, and no Texas hospitality.

Really nice place great people there to show you around and good whiskey and peach vodka. Take the tour they have this gal that is full of energy and loves talking about the place. I like the fact that you can buy drinks there but 5 bucks for a drink in a plastic cup to me tells me that they need to do more. Still worth a look when you are in town.

The distiller who gives the tours is so chill and friendly. The bartender giving the tastings is super welcoming. The vibe is awesome and everything they make is great. Especially – I’m being real here – the peach vodka. I know it seems like the kind of drink you’d bring to a post-prom sleepover, but seriously, this peach vodka is insanely delicious. It’s like biting into a super fresh peach, but in liquid form. The whiskey is smooth and delicious. This is an excellent Saturday afternoon stop. Also, the candles they make are really cool – «intoxicated» is my fav scent.

If you’re ever passing through San Antonio, you should do a tour and tasting at Rebecca Creek Distillery. My friends and I — some 20 of us — arranged a tour. Drop-ins are welcome, for a larger group they rec you make an appointment. The tour includes a tasting, however, they allowed us to bring in our own bottles pre-purchased at a liquor store and have their bartender mix up some full-sized drinks for us. So the tour? Interesting, informative, lots of photo opps and you get to taste something akin to moonshine. I think I almost passed out. Rebecca Creek Distillery produces Enchanted Rock Vodka and Rebecca Creek Whiskey. «Free public tours, every Saturday from 12−5pm. No appointment necessary.»

What a great place. A whiskey distillery in our backyard. And with the new laws past in October, you can buy cocktails and bottles of their whiskey and vodka in the store. A nice gift shop where you can browse while waiting to take a free tour. Allen is a great tour guide and fully explains each step of the spirit making process. My favorite is the barrel storage room where the smell of aging single malt whiskey fills the air. Can’t wait until January when the single malt will finish aging and be ready to buy.

I recall at one point, having climbed up onto some semi-scaffolding so we might get a birds eye view into one of the instruments, noting that those of us who enjoy a cocktail every now and then should really thank some of these guys — there’s a lot of hoop jumping that happens if you’re a distiller, and that’s not even including any legal stuff. Rebecca Creek Distillery is a super slick, über modern industrial setup where they manufacture the vodka(and more) under the same moniker: we were lucky enough to catch them on a day when they were open to the idea of showing us around a little, and we got the chance to see what they were dreaming up, and what they were actively cranking out. What there was, of course, was vodka, and lots of it. It seems like they’ve ramped into something interesting pretty quickly, and in Texas, I’ve not had trouble finding them, which is great if you dig vodka. From humble beginnings, perhaps, but the end result is pretty fabby. And thanks for the tour!

I was fortunate to have a tour of this gorgeous space recently. With my boss in tow, we got to amble about, learn about the distilling process and even get some samples! The facilities are gorgeous. They have the beautiful space where the liquors are made but they also have great party rooms available. And the staff is so friendly it’s unreal. This spot is a bit outside of the city but totally worth the drive. Very fun way to spend an afternoon!
