Delicious Cubano and chicken tortas(6.99 ea), quickly prepared by a friendly woman who was very patient with our limited Spanish. Tiny place, limited seating. They have a nice assortment of Jarritos, and some fresh horchata(we did not try). Will definitely return!

Good little Mexican joint with an authentic Mexican taste. Go with the hamburguesa Mexicana or the torta milanesa and the horchata. Trust me! I would come here three days a week for the torta if i lived in San Antonio.

Had the Cubana torta again, and it was Fantastic! had not eaten there in about a year. Just one of the best tortas you can buy in SA.

Order the Cuban torta definitely a gut buster, the shredded pork could use some more salt overall I say a solid 3.5 stars. Becareful with the red sauce, your ass will fall out the the green sauce you can be liberal with and the side of carrots and Jalapeños was refreshing.

Completely different than in past trips — although I hadn’t been here for some time. I can’t say that I would return based on my last meal there. Their bread was different and they no longer have«ternera» which is traditional shredded roast beef. Off day? Not sure.

The Torts Cubana is so good, I will make it a point to be back. I read a review saying it wasn’t flavorful… Either that individual had a bad day or his taste buds are burnt off. The pork was so tender and juicy, the bread tasted fresh baked and buttered. The ingredients were just cherries on the cake. Coupled with the pickled jalapeño and salsa… Oh yeah I’ll be back. The fries were very… Meh… Just throw some home fries in there or mash potatoes for a side as opposed to the sub par greasy/excuses for fries. It’s almost like buying a luxury car and not having leather as standard or at least an option.

This place is ok. It gives you that torta fix. Sometimes restaurants like these open that have food that we miss from Mexico but use subpar ingredients and you can tell in taste. You get the fix but now it makes you want the real thing. Still good, cheap enough.

Great food! Authentic tacos al vapor. Very friendly staff. HIGHLY recommend this establishment for great food true to south of the border. My recommendation is the tacos al vapor de desehbrada paired with a Mexican coke. Feels like home! Coming back again and again and again.

Good sandwiches but not the greatest. Almost like they are in a hurry. But if you have the taste fir tortas then it fills it

The food was good. The service needs a lot of improvement, the lady was too busy being on her blue tooth chatting through the whole time we were there. If they want repeat business, they need to be more attentive. Two stars from me.

This place is awesome! Really small but the food is delicious :-) I ordered the Torta Cubana and it was soooo soooo good and full of flavor! I also ordered the kids mini cheeseburger which was not so mini but oh so cheesy and equally delicious. You definitely need to check this place out!

The place is one of my favorite family owned business. Food was great. Though the women who served me doesn’t know much English, she is definitely very nice and aware of needs. Will go again

We had tortas for the first time here and no major complaints. The roast beef meat was good but had a few chewy bits of tendon which detracted from the flavor. Not quite a 4 star experience in our book, but good nonetheless.

Well what can I say about this place? The tortas were good but with a four star rating I was expecting so much more. I split a cubana and milanesa torta with someone else. The bread was great and on the cubana torta the pork had no flavoring. It did not taste bad but I would have liked some seasoning of some sort. Same thing is true for the milanesa. It basically was a fried piece of meat with little to no salt and pepper. The complimentary chips were very good. Overall the food and service were good but do not go in with a four star expectation like I did.

Tortas were good, there was just something missing for it to have a 5 star… Maybe it was the bread and that everything came falling of.

This was on my wishlist for a long time and I finally made it out here this afternoon after stopping by(dragged to-lol) a crafts fair in Helotes. This place is anchored right on the corner of a strip mall, just as you turn onto Eckhert from Bandera. Small shop with a couple of outdoor tables that looked inviting, but it was too windy to enjoy it, so we opted for inside seating. As we came in, we dodged a lot of to-go traffic, a good sign. I expected to order at the counter and find my own way, but the hostess came out to us with menus and let us choose a place and order our drinks. Gringo alert! You better have at least a street vocabulary of Espanol or at least a good accent. Otherwise, you’ll end up pointing. Torta Cubana for me, Torta Pollo for wifey with a side of papas fritas to split. French fries were excellent with a great seasoning; hot and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. That’s french fry erotica baby. And to top it, the hostess put out a plate of sliced jalepenos and a carafe of green mystery sauce(looked like very smooth salsa). Of course we knew what the peppers were for, but we weren’t quite sure about the sauce/salsa. We put a little on the side and dredged our fries through it. Wow! was it good(and hot) with the fries. Sandwiches were excellent, fresh ingredients and lots of them. I dissed the bread on delivery as big hamburger buns. My bad, they were authentic Mexican and delicious. Toasted on the bottom — yum. On a side note, we both scratched our head and wondered why we were expecting a pocket-like bread? Prob saw it on D3. –1 star for some funky tasting iced tea. Bad water or bad pipes. I don’t want to speculate beyond that. Everything else was a hit! Muy bueno Que Tortas.

The Tortas are very good some of the best I have had. However, the el vapor tacos have some work yet. I was excited to see that them on the menu because I have no found them outside of Mexico. Hoping they will work on them to make them a little more memorable next time. The chile sauces are really good! At times seem to not quite ready for customers at opening. Have had to wait for the tea to finish brewing, but the staff are very nice and attentive. Check out the Tortas! Take a few people with you and share so you can all try several!
