The pastries are hit or miss for me sometimes but the sandwiches are really good. I definitely recommend the turkey avocado Panini.

The negative reviews kind of surprise me, but I guess people are entitled to their opinions. I love Nadler’s! We’ve gotten countless cakes over the years and they’ve always been fresh, reasonably priced, and delicious. It’s their decorated sugar cookies that keep me coming back. They were my aunts absolute favorite. Not an occasion would go by that she didn’t pop in and get some. I looked forward to them every birthday. She recently passed. My youngest is turning one this weekend, which would have meant she’d gotten him his first Nadler’s cookie. Instead, I went in this morning to buy it for him. It was something I wasn’t looking forward to doing, but I had the absolute best experience. The young girl who helped us was beyond patient with my indecisive 3 year old who wanted ALL the cookies! And I can’t thank the other woman working there enough. She was great with both my boys! My son is still taking about«his red cookie!» They made a happy memory out of something I was initially dreading.

The bakery items seem ok, not great, but edible. Their deli is a disaster. It’s poorly run and the food is not good. They serve dry, stale bread and the quality of the spreads, like tuna salad is just… mediocre, like from a grocery store. The iced tea was just industrial stuff. The deli seems like an afterthought to the bakery. But there are much better bakeries now in San Antonio, Nadler’s just doesnt cut it anymore.

I previously reviewed this place and was not pleased with the service. Although I experienced this one bad moment I decided to give Nadler’s one more chance and I am SOGLAD I did! The service this time around was exceptional and Ms. Nadler was very courteous and attentive to all of our needs. The orders were correct the food was fresh and the pastries were yummy! Parking was not bad at all. I am very pleased with the service this time around and will be stopping by again!

I also have been a customer for over 40 years. Throughout this time, I knew their cakes to have been of the highest quality. However, their business practices have changed. In October, my husband went to the store and purchased an Italian cream sheet cake from the case at a cost of $ 52.00 for a birthday party. The cake tasted like it was at least three days old. 23 people did not eat this cake. I called the store and the manager was understanding and offered an in store credit. In November, I met a former employee of Nadlers who told me that the cakes are made in advance and are stored in the freezer. Not knowing her, I didn’t put much stock into what she was saying. I thought that our experience in October may have just been a fluke. Last week, I ordered another sheet cake for another birthday, I couldn’t believe that this second cake tasted like it had in fact been frozen. It tasted terrible. Another disappointment, again for another for group of 20 people. Add to that the embarrassment I felt in presenting that cake. Because I had pre-ordered a Black Forest cake at the same time that I ordered the carrot cake, today I went to pick up the Black Forest cake and bought some danish. I specifically asked the girl at the counter if the danish was fresh, telling her that if it wasn’t fresh, I did not want it. Before she could respond, a lady sitting at a desk yelled out that the danish was fresh. I brought the danish to the office and once again, the danish tasted terrible, as if it were 2 – 3 days old. They were thrown away. These experiences tell me that they are cutting way back on quality. It seems that they don’t mind losing customers over this. It saddens me because this has always been my go-to bakery. It no longer is.

A decent bakery. But their counter service can be very slow. If you value your time, reason enough to go elsewhere. There are alternatives where the baked goods are just as good – or better. And the service is much faster.

I drove by this place countless times before someone pointed out to me it was a bakery. Seriously? It’s nestled between some seedy establishments. Well my sweet tooth needed pastries so I stopped by. It was like a whole other world inside. Seasonal cookies, tiny pastries, petit fours, intricately decorated cakes greeted me as I stepped inside. The space is surprisingly huge inside. There is a sizable dining area with cute little chairs and tables. They serve tea and coffee as well as breakfast and lunch(mainly sandwiches). I have yet to try the lunch options because I only ever come for pastries. So what about these pastries. Most of them taste ok. Generally the cookies are very good. I love the peanut cookies and any of the shortbreads. The icebox cookies are pretty standard but inexpensive so I usually get a couple for fun. The almond meringues are also good if you like meringues. My favorites are the mini cream puffs filled with custard. I think central markets large cream puffs are the best of all so nothing can compare to those little pieces of heaven. The cannolis and cupcakes are not as good. Overall I like coming here for the cookies and mini cream puffs because they are inexpensive. Also, Nadlers is very close to the medical center so it is easy for me to drop by to get cakes for office parties. In terms of taste, bakery Lorraine and central market have much better options.

Great selection! Polite service! Heavenly goodies! The young lady and gentleman who assisted us were very polite and personable– I would say the young lady went out of her way to provide outstanding customer service. We ordered an apple French horn and the strawberry signature cake– Wonderful– melt-in-your-mouth good!

This bakery is in the corner of a shopping center, I almost didn’t notice it until it came recommended by some of my coworkers as a good sandwich spot. When I walked in, it reminded me of an old fashioned bakery from my home town. There were several choices of pastries, cookies, and deserts available behind the glass. There’s also a medium sized seating area to eat after your order. Maybe have some coffee with a Danish or cookie and read. I was able to order my sandwich quickly because there was no one there when I first got there. After looking at the Napoleons for too long I decided to try one, and by the time I did there was a line at the counter… apparently this place is very popular for cakes. Which, I’ll keep in mind for the next time I need a cake. So I had to wait in line…& wait…&wait…&wait…my sandwich was already ready and I was still waiting. Finally I was able to order my pastries(I wish I would have before the rush) and I was very excited. I got an éclair, Napoleon, some crème puff thing, and a Danish. The Danish and Napoleon were good but the éclair was suuuuuuper hard and not appetizing and the crème puff was way too hard also I definitely won’t get those again. They tasted kind of dried out and old. I will give this place another try, seeing as they’re an old local bakery, hopefully the sweets aren’t old as well. The sandwich was good– I got the Italian. Mm.

I used to live around the corner grim this cute shop and would go frequently. Unfortunately the pastries were really bad. I bought the famed strawberry cake for $ 28 dollars once. It was certainly but worth the splurge. HEB it’s much mite unreasonably and better tasting. The sandwiches and soup were always good. I miss for split pea soup on a cold day. The staff is friendly and were always kind to my little boys.

Nadler’s was probably one of the first custom bakeries in San Antonio. It’s the first one I remember visiting as a kid. Nadler’s is a great stop during the holidays. They always have custom gingerbread houses that are artfully crafted. Since my grandma passed nobody makes Linzer cookies in my family anymore, but I can always find them here. This is a great bakery for kids. They make cupcakes that look like snowmen and cookies of all different types. The bakery items have a strong German/Austrian/Swedish background. There is an area with deli tables if you want to eat items in house, and it seems as though there is one lady that has been working there for years. She can likely answer just about any question about the baked goods.

Price went up quite a bit last time I went. The Reuben wasn’t as tasty as I remembered and the split peas soup wasn’t the same either. They re-did the menu and got rid of the combo options. It was a let-down. Will probably not return again. How sad!

Well I was normally a huge fan of their strawberry whipped cream cake but the other day I brought one of their cakes home and you can tell they are skimping on it now. The cake layers weren’t as high and the don’t put as much custard/filling inside the cake. Looks like they are cutting corners or trying to save money. Too bad.

Stopped by for there Baklava. Its my favorite pastry and they sell it cheep. In fact all there pastry’s are very low priced. They have a fantastic Boar’s head meat deli and soups. This is a great quite place to get a snack or lunch and they have free wifi. They make a nice cappuccino. I just love the simplicity that they have, its like visiting your grandparents house for a quick bite to eat. If you need a place that is not filled with college kids on there ipads like Starbucks stop here instead.

I’ve never eaten at their deli before, but their menu looks interesting and the seating area somewhat reminds me of a tea-room. Their bakery options are endless. I was seriously overwhelmed on my first visit to pick something up for the fam. I decided on some Easter sugar cookies($ 2.25 each — pricey). they were fine. Some of them tasted less sweet(more flour-y) then others, which I didn’t really like. On my second visit, I decided to try some of their pastries, we got the éclair, cream puff, and napoleon. All of which were delicious and they had the option of buying the full-size one for $ 4 or buying the smaller bite sized versions for $ 2.25. The only thing that I would gripe about is that they should really have labels on their pastries/cakes/cookies. I felt bad because I had to obsessively keep asking the woman what the cakes were, so it would be helpful to have the prices/names labelled. Overall, I will be coming back. Love it!
