Follow up from my last review. Most of the upgrades are complete and the place and space is awesome. The new owners have done a great job with the atmosphere and adding food is excellent. Still have problems with the karaōke. Been singing karaōke all over the world, literally, I understand what works and doesn’t. The KJs do not understand rotation or feel for the crowd and what they want for music between. I can bring in people but will not subject them to a mediocre KJ, cause it ruins the whole experience. Tor has done an excellent job with the sound and the selection now can we find someone please to run it!

Since the owner change, this place has really turned around in a very positive way. The owners are nice and make you feel very welcomed, as if you were a regular. The bartenders are nice and make this place more enjoyable to stay for more than just one drink. The fries are my favorite part of their menu. And the song selection is quite impressive, and I can find my song on my phone now. That’s pretty cool not having to dig through a dirty binder anymore.

I recently moved to San Antonio and ventured out for some Karaōke. Not knowing where to go, a friend recommended I try this place. I was a bit nervous when I read the reviews, but I had a singin’ bug that needed curing, so off we went. I’m glad I did! The sound is amazing in here! I’m a stickler for sound. I’ve been to too many shows where the KJ is a fly by night operation. Not the case here. After a little bit of discussion with the bartender, I discover the place got new owners back in February and they upgraded everything. By my count I saw 4 speakers around the bar and one huge subwoofer off the to the side of the stage. Top it off with 2 floor monitor speakers on the stage and I was in karaōke heaven. I think a lot of people forget about those floor monitors, but as a singer I love them. I want to be able to hear myself sing! The Karaōke host is all about the karaōke. He will play songs in between, but as a transition between singers. Nothing irritates me more than having someone play dance music all night, and this place does NOT do it. If I wanted to dance, I’d be at a dance club. This place is straight up all about the singers. They have a small menu of typical bar fare, and I think a hot wing contest of some blazing hellfire sauce that I didn’t go near. But I wasn’t there for the food — I’m all about the singin’! A few in our party ordered pretzels and cheese sticks and they said they were tasty. There are restrooms on either side of the bar which means — LADIES — there are TWO restrooms in this place just for you! For you non-singers, there are 3 pool tables and 3 dart boards. We’ll definitely be returning to Me &CA’s!

I really like this place, and I have been a long time patron but the bartender lately has been horrible. If it wasn’t for the karaōke we would not come back to this place. Tonight the bartender looked disoriented and out of place. Moving fast and running around like a chicken with no head makes for bad tips. It’s not that busy in hear. Get a real bartender not a Kevin James from the King of Queens fumbling around and being rude.

Staff is awesome, very diverse and pleasant crowd. I always feel welcomed. Great place to have a few drinks and sing or watch people sing.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years and this place has gone down hill! The bartender is a complete jerk, the service is rude and slow. They have a new DJ every time and they are rude as well, I won’t ever come here again. The drinks are supper over priced, the pool tables are old and crappy this is def a bar on its way to being closed Down. The owners should call bar rescue to learn what good service is! I would never recommend this crap hole to anyone looking to have a good time, this place should be closed down!!!

The vibe in the bar is not entirely bad, but the old KJ kills everything about this place. As a true karaōke bar, people come here to sing. Not dance. Not listen to music. Sing. 20 singers signed up and this douche plays a filler song between each singer and encourages stupid line dancing where all the Mcfatty’s can let their rolls hang loose. Want to keep the place worth visiting? Stay true to the format. Keep the rotation going without all the bullshit in between.

We came here on a whim. We wanted to sing and drink… and that is what we did. I am not sure if it was just because it was Sunday night, but there was no charge for the private karaōke bar as long as the drinks were flowing… which was not a problem… most sound their best after drinking. The selection of songs was broad and the videos that came on the screen were at times more interesting than listening to friends sing out of key. They had a full bar with drink specials listed on the board. I ordered soju… which is the Korean version of vodka. The entire bottle was only $ 20 and was actually better tasting than vodka. I would recommend ordering this for your group to try some thing new… as far as liquors go. I will definitely be going back next time I have the urge to belt it out!

Update: Ever since Danny and Carolyn sold this bar, it’s gone downhill. The owner has berated the staff in front of customers, encourages over-serving, and is carrying on unbelievably shady business practices… like padding my tab. After learning he fired the best manager/bartender they’ve ever had, I am done with this place.

Wanna be a singing legend? METOO! This is a great place to practice on the way to your American Idol audition… Or a great lace to have a good time, sing along and remember why you are a accountant instead of a rock star,. Never too crowded so you can get up at least a few times if you want. Always great drink specials, and very friendly bartenders! We had a birthday here and were able to have the VIP table so that was a blast! Try it out yo!

I came here on Sat night with a group of friends. We had a good time. There were bunch of people here having a good time. Including one white chic really working it with her too tight shorts and belly hanging out. LOL. There are good singers, bad singers, great singers and horrific singers, but we all had a great time. Our waitress is friendly and attentive. My only knock on the place is the drink price, $ 4 for Jack/coke in a whiskey glass, =/

Are you looking for that authentic strip club experience without the naked ladies? Then this is the place for you! AND they have Sam Adams on tap! Coming at ya straight from 1997, this place has it all — 19 inch CRT televisions, dentist waiting room chairs, and hey! they just got Sam Adams on tap! The singers varied from really good to fingernails on chalk board. Given that it was Friday night, the place was pretty packed, but a kind of older shadier crowd. Worth a stop for a bit of a flashback and some karaōke fun. (PS — Did I mention they have Sam Adams on tap? Because they totally do!)

After Rudy’s birthday party a couple of years ago, about four of us headed to this bar not too soon after. We sang, had a few drinks, and just straight out had some karoake fun. Definitely dive but pretty freakin’ cool if you ask me. Since then, I’ve been back a few times and each time the MCs have been nice and welcoming. The servers are good too — attentive but not too ‘in your face’ about ordering.

Total dive bar with Karaōke every night! Cheap drinks, huge playlist, great way to hang out with your friends on any night of the week. It’s much easier to play suicide karaōke on a weeknight, because the weekends bring in all the regulars who are very good singers :) We end up here all the time on accident because we’ll be out and about on the town and someone will say, hey lets go karaōke :) since this is our stand-by, we end up here.

How did I end up Duke here? Guess I need to do a review since I am. This is simply a Karaōke Bar. There are so. e awesome singers that come here. I always hope I don’t follow them onto the stage. Drink prices are good. Basically it is just a local dive bar(a good thing) with a lot of regulars. If you have an urge to get your Karaōke on head on over and belt out a tune.

Here’s another awesome dive bar(meant as a compliment) for y’all to try out. The place is very spacious and clean, has karaōke, and a decently sized dance floor. The neon signs on the outside make sure sure you don’t miss it — they stand out very well. Staff is very nice and did I mention there is no smoking???

I really love this place even though I’m not that into karaōke. My friend and I went on a Saturday night, karaōke starts at 9:00 and we had a blast. It wasn’t too crowded and the patrons and staff are friendly and attentive. We were there until 12:00 am and my friend got to sing about 5 times. The DJ plays requests that are unusual and fun and will honor almost all requests. The drinks are cheap too, $ 2.75 for a beer. I recommend this place(even if it’s not in that great of area) if you want a really fun night of karaōke! In response to the previous review, the DJ equipment is updated and they have monitors all over the place — maybe not LCD ones they work just fine. It’s not a high scale karaōke bar, just a friendly, neighborhood place that makes you feel like home.

I had a chance to get out for my birthday with my wife and some friends/fellow Unilocalers. For some reason I wanted to go out for Karaōke. I couldn’t remember any places that had Karaōke on a Saturday expect for Me and CA. I had been here a few years ago when we first moved to SA. I thought it was alright then, and is still a alright place. The place itself is not the best looking place around town, but not the worst. They don’t charge a cover which I thought was cool. Most Karaōke bars do charge a cover. I was drinking beer that night so I didn’t try out any of the mixed drinks from bar. The beer was cheap pints were $ 3 not bad for a Saturday night. I thought the place had a very diverse crowd; you could tell by the many different types of songs that were being sung. Now my gripes about Me and CA. The place was real wreaked of cigarette smoke big time. I thought the Karaōke equipment was outdated. They didn’t have nice LCD monitors all around the stage; like you see at other places. The sound equipment keep fading in and out as people were singing. I also thought the crowd kinda got outta hand later on in the night. People jumping up on stage trying to sing other people songs. But like they always say nothing good ever happens after 2am, but in this case it was only 1am. So I gave 2 to Me and CA; not the best place I have been too but not the worst. I know I’ll probably return, but it won’t be too soon. Oh BTW I sung a good rendition of Frank Sinatra’s Strangers in the Night«Do dody doby do; Do doo de la»
