Went here yesterday with my mother and aunt. 0 complaints from us. We got 3 burgers, fries and onion rings. It was all hot and fresh. Can’t wait to go back!

ZEROCUSTOMERSERVICE After reading reviews and a friend’s recommendation, I decided to see for myself if I thought Longhorn Café was worthy. We arrived about 4:15 pm after any possible lunch rush. As I suspected, there weren’t any lines and only a few diners finishing their lunch. I ordered a 1⁄3 lb combo burger with onion rings and a drink, which is self serve. I went to get tea and found that it was empty. I alerted the cashier which acknowledged they knew it was empty and said they were making more. I left my glass of ice on the cooler near the register and in front of the cashier. I asked her to either bring me my glass of tea or alert me when it was ready. I checked back two times while eating my burger. It still wasn’t ready. After finishing my burger and rings, again I asked where’s the tea… She said that it was made and the tea dispenser had been refilled. I asked why hadn’t they told me or brought the tea to me. A question she didn’t have a good reply to… I asked for a refund, since I was finished eating and didn’t really need it anymore. She was about to leave and asked Haley to give me the refund on my credit card. Unfortunately, the receipt she showed me had a zero balance instead of a credit. I’m hoping a credit was given, but as of this posting two days later it has not appeared on my credit card statement. While the burger was ok and the rings good, their customer service failed. There are simply too many restaurants selling burgers that offer excellent customer service. I would rather go to a restaurant that understands how important customer service is, than to be subjected to an uncaring employee with no ambition to simply say I’m sorry or show some imitative to bring me my drink instead of just standing around… I’m not likely to return…

My #1 burger in the country. Have gone to San Antonio more than once, just to get a burger and some onion rings here.

I have been eating here for years and typically don’t have issues but today, I placed an order for pick up. I wasn’t feeling well all day so I wasn’t really with it but when I picked up the order the bag seemed light. When I checked it I was missing one container so I checked the receipt. The receipt had 2 turkey Swiss/mushroom burgers, fries and onion rings. My wife ordered 2 veggie burgers and 1 turkey and FF’s and OR’s. She had to repeat it 3x. So even with all that they got it TOTALLY wrong. So I reordered. Now you think I’d be smart enough to check it before I left but I didn’t. They forgot the OR’s and they added mayo when I said no mayo. I don’t think those in the kitchen are paying attention or care. This will be the last time I ever order out from there.

This is my favorite Jalapeño Cheeseburger. Period. I had driven down from Austin on business(mostly as an excuse to come back here) and I am glad I did. As always, it was amazing. I also got the monster onion rings, took pictures and dove into the burger. No skimping on the jalapenos here brother. Everything was fantastic, service was fast and tables quickly cleaned. This is a dive joint, so don’t expect a fru fru burger or an umbrella in your soda or beer here! Parking is a bit iffy due to the condition of the parking lot, but I would have crawled here quite happily. I have eaten here for years but desperately try to space it out in time so I will never grow tired of eating here. Want fancy? Go somewhere else. Want down to earth? This is the place.

Their burger is EASILY in my top 5 of all time. And that’s a bold statement coming from me. If you drive too fast you might miss it, unless you see that line coming out of the door. There is a reason why people line up every day for these burgers as they are perfection. Juicy, cheesy, bacony, caramelized onions and perfectly toasted buns. I reccomend the sweet potato tots. They are my favorite. They guys that work there get their asses kicked on that grill but are humble as hell. I compliment them every time for kicking ass and making my burger perfect very time. Haven’t had a shake there, but I’ve heard they are fantastic. I’ll see you guys at lunch today!

It’s a tasty burger. Quick place to grab lunch. You might need a nap after. It hasn’t changed since 1985.

Longhorn Café, man. It’s a classic greasy burger joint. You walk in and see a pretty big menu with a wide variety of options. Luckily I’m here to tell you that, outside of the burger options, it’s all just noise. You’re going to Longhorn to get the burger. This is a special burger. This is one of those burgers you will drive out of your way to eat. You will happily wait in a 20 minute line and you will enjoy it. Burger crafting seems to be an elusive art — there are a lot of good ones out there, but not like this. Longhorn does theirs griddle style — the burgers themselves aren’t too huge but they’re jam-packed with flavor. They also grill the buns to give them a light crisp, and the meat/bun ratio was frankly perfect. I took advantage of the lunch special and had onion rings with my burger — let it be known that the rings were also respectable. Others at my table had fried pickles and fries, and there were smiles all around. Amazing burgers, great prices, friendly environment. If I lived in San Antonio, my chances for type 2 would drastically increase because of this place alone.

Ordered the mushroom/cheese plain and fries. It was cooked the way I like it medium-ish. Had a little pink. Very tasty overall. Services was good and quick, but we decided to eat outside since it was a little to loud during the lunch crowd. Will be back.

Great burgers and sides. Loved my turkey burger and sweet potato fries. On the otherhand the restrooms were downright filthy. The toilets hadn’t been cleaned for awhile. Disgusting. Made me wonder about the kitchen.

Came here for lunch. Ordered the double meat cheeseburger with bacon and tots. What can I say about Longhorns that hasn’t been said by many. It’s really one of the top 3 places for burgers in SA. The beef is seasoned perfectly with salt and paper. You can taste the quality of the ground chuck. Cheese. Nothing wrong with good ol American melted all over. Love the the mustard mayo combination. And fresh lettuce, tomato, onions round everything together into a delicious, juicy, gooey goodness. The bacon was set in between the patties. Not usually done that way at other places but ii enjoyed it. It was like biting a surprise. Made the burger feel like it was stuffed with bacon. It made the bacon a part of the whole instead of a topping. While Chris Madrid’s is still tops in my book, Longhorns is just as good offering the Northern area its own hamburger heavyweight. Here the burger is the star. The tots were good. I wouldn’t say great. But good. Needed more seasoning. The onion rings are a better option and the fries are a touch better in the seasoning department. But let’s face it. Ordering a burger like the double with cheese and bacon, who needs sides.

The BEST Hamburgers in town; The WORST bathrooms. If I am going to Longhorn, I use the restroom facilities before I get there. Many times, NO toilet paper in the women’s & crappy, disgusting dirty & frequently out of toilet paper. Owners; you can do better; you should update bathrooms(Blanco location) or at the very least, Keep it Clean!!! Still, the best Burger in town! Just don’t use the commodes.

Still the best hamburger place in San Antonio unless I am grilling them outside myself. The place is a hole in the wall and the overflow parking lot moonscape, but if a juicy burger is your thing just know that their hamburgers are second to none. I love their onion rings, too. They keep their beer bottles in large troughs filled with ice and on hot days it is a must have. I have probably been here 100 times in the past fifteen years, and never had a bad experience. I have also tried their Turkey burger and although it is a frozen patty it is the best one I have had in a restaurant. They also have things like fried pickles and jalapenos.

When I see all these«Best of SA» contests, I always think of Longhorn as the best burger in San Antonio. I cannot believe this is my first review of my favorite burger in SA! So, first of all, don’t be fooled by the humble atmosphere. What really matters is the burger! My go to burger is the Bacon Cheeseburger with your choice of the regular condiments, made your way. Make sure when you go with someone, one of you must get the tots. I usually persuade my BF to get them so I can swipe a few, they’re amazing! Fries are also very good and I’m a traditional girl, so I always choose fries. If you would like a cold longneck with your burger, you will find a couple of icy troughs with various selections of your basic beer groups. I have NEVER been disappointed with the«BIGANDJUICY» burger though and that’s what I come here for! They serve other sandwiches, but when you want the best, how can you order anything else? Give Longhorn café a try and see what you think for yourself! This is the original location, but there are a few others in town.
