I won these tickets at the August Elite Event thanks Krys. I really only wanted to see the Texas Tornados. The other bands were Indie-Rock bands I had never heard of. So, I didn’t get to the brewery till a little bit before 8pm. I had some trouble finding the brewery through all the twist and turns I took through South-Town. When I finally did find it I thought it was cool that parking was free. Although, I did notice the place was surround by condemn buildings not a nice touch. Once we entered through the gate we walked down a sidewalk. After that the walkways to the stage, food, and beer were dark, and full of overgrown grass. We could not find our way to the stage. When we finally did figure out where the main stage was the Texas Tornadoes started to play. The Texas Tornados played a great set. They played all my favorite songs«(Hey Baby) Que Paso» «Who Were You Thinkin’ Of» and some Freddy Fender songs. Lone Star and Texas Torandos was a great combo, but it stops there. When I walk around the grounds some more. I thought the festival could have used some better organizing, I saw a lot of wasted space that could have been filled with vendors, or corporate promo gurus. The area did have a some cool Lone Star stuff all around, but that’s all. I was upset in the food selection; there was only one food vendor. He was selling some tacos that look like they had been there since 3pm when the festival first opened. That food would’ve made me sick, and I have a cast iron stomach its was that bad. I was really upset after that, cause I was so hungry.(Grumpy RudeDog) Other than seeing the Texas Tornados with all of the original members expect for Freddy Fender, and Doug Sahm RIP, and the Twitter stream popping up on some LCD screens. The Lonestar Bash at the Brewery wasn’t the coolest experience, and needs better organizing. I’m glad I won the tickets, cause I really would have been pissed If I paid for them. 2 Stars
