My first time at this location. Friendly staff, great subs. Everything is fresh, give it a try. Get the reward card for points on free food.

Been coming here for years, and it just keeps getting worse and worse. The past 3 times in succession my order, an Italian on white, with only pickles managed to get screwed up. It’s almost as if this place goes out of there way to make your food incorrectly. I drove all the way back to have my meals redone(yet again), called them 4 times, and finally got a real person the 4th time I called(this is coming from a place that takes phone orders), when I got there other than complete apathy, I could actually hear the staff badmouthing me as they remade my food they screwed up. They took back the incorrect sandwiches and remade them again, and again they were made incorrectly. When I asked to speak with the manager’s boss or some form of contact to a higher up to report this garbage, the«manager» John told me he couldn’t give me any information and directed me to call a Lenny’s Sub Shop off Rittiman and Harry Wurzbach. When I called this location, the owner was«gone for the day» at 3PM… I’ll never come here again, and I will gladly offer any information that results in getting this place closed or gets an entirely new staff and or ownership, I have never had such a ridiculous experience, multiple times even, trying to get a simple sandwich made correctly. One of the worst restaurants I’ve been to in this city in terms of service and actual effort from it’s employees, management, and ownership.

It’s just nice to go somewhere where folks ask about your day…& are genuine! This was my first trip to Lenny’s…ever. After a long day of teaching, a gal’ gets HANGRY! Got the 5″ famous philly with chips and a drink. Total came to $ 7.62. Food was pretty basic, fresh, not the best or worst cheesteak I’ve ever had. I’ll surely be back… for the service and subs.

When it comes to sammies, Lenny’s knows! This place is great. All the sandwich combos they offer are yummy and perfectly priced. They can meet your cold cut or hot sammie needs. I like that they offer chips and drinks to satisfy your trifecta of lunch cravings. During my visits it is usually busy but I haven’t waited in line long before they are calling my name and I’m on my way. I like that they offer catering as well as tables on site both inside and out to pull up a chair and enjoy your meal right away. The sammies are BIG, if I failed to mention. Very filling and afterward I day dream of what I might be ordering and enjoying on my next visit. Definitely give this place a chance. With all the options there is bound to be something for everyone.

This is the best sandwich place in town. Kudos to John, the new manager, and Daniel who makes a mean Kaiser.

Food tastes good. I had the Famous Philly Salad and it was a home run! It’s under new owners and they have some work to do. Floors were sticky. Drink station was a mess. Service was slow. No longer accepting Book of Free coupons which is unfortunate.

Horrible visit yesterday. Been going to this location at least once a week lately and the service has never been great but yesterday they were way off the mark. Order prepared sloppy even though it was fairly dead. Worst part was asking if my son could get a cookie instead of the chips with his combo since we didn’t really need two bags of chips. Same exact price individually but the staff flat out refused. Said it’s how«management wants it». Well, «management» just lost you a fairly regular customer. Horrible way to deliver a good customer experience. Get some common sense. I’ll also stop telling others they should try Lenny’s. Next time do what is right for the customer.

As far as I’m concerned, these are the best subs in San Antonio, bar none. The bread is made fresh daily and the meats are not cut until you order. The service is great and the employees are friendly and quick. I eat there at least once a week and it is always delicious.

This place is under new management and ever since then it’s gone to shit. I go at night when it’s not busy. I’m usually the only one in the dining area and it always takes a while to get a cold sub. It took them 14 minutes to make the deluxe club. I got the Philly before I even received the deluxe. The hot sub got cold waiting on my girlfriends deluxe sub. There’s always one girl that works the evening shift and she’s rude and it seems like she doesn’t want to be there. Also, they don’t accept the book of free. LAME! I don’t think we’ll be back here.

Lenny’s subs are great. The food is fresh and delicious, service is friendly and professional. I only wish I lived/worked closer to a location, it’d be my daily lunch option!

I frequent the place often and noticed they are under new management. The shop has taken an upswing… the have placed(2) new flat screen TVs in the shop and re-arranged the seating for more room. Really enjoyed that, was always so cramped feeling before. The service has improved as has the freshness of the subs and speed. The new TVS has been a nice touch and the cookies are great too. Me and the family will be going back more often.

They’ve really gone downhill here in the past few years. There is a sign that says«place orders here» at the counter, but don’t believe it. Many regulars still stand there, before being informed that you now order at the register. The staff stands around and refills their own drinks, while a poor employee wanders around the place trying to hook up people with their orders. They lost my order this time, so I waited at a table for 20 minutes, before being approached and asked what I had ordered… They finally got the order together, and I watched an employee *lick her fingers* before separating a bag to put my food in it. Of course I ordered my food for *HERE*, but you got everything else wrong, so why start now?

Just terrible. I have tried giving this place so many chances, but every time it’s a complete fail. First off it takes FOREVER. Plan on at least 30 minutes for a sandwich no matter the day or time. The bread is meh, doesn’t taste homemade or fresh. Then the sauces are good, but they slather, and I mean slather them on there. I scooped enough hot pepper relish to cover at least three more normal sandwiches. Then the tea tastes horrible… like the container hasn’t been cleaned since the place opened. Sorry Lenny, but our friendship has ended.

Decent sandwich place– they cut all meats fresh as you watch, rarely have any sort of line, and have quite a good selection. My parents are huge fans, and they have a location near my house, so I finally gave them a try last weekend. Had the Mile High Turkey Kaiser, with everything on it. At one point they asked if I also wanted pickle relish, which I thought was odd, but I said sure. When I got home and opened my sandwich, it turned out they must have meant«pepper relish», because that stuff is spicy like woah. I liked that their sandwiches had the option of having a submarine-style roll on white or wheat, or to use their Kaiser buns– which were small and more portion-controlled. I ate my sandwich one half at a time for separate meals, not because they were huge but they were surprisingly filling– there’s a hefty amount of meat on the sandwich; «mile high» is no joke. Only downside to this place is the hours– they close promptly at 8PM, which is why it took me so long to give them a try. That’s absurdly early, especially in summer when they sun’s still up til 9PM and I don’t remember to eat until it starts getting dark out. Think they’d do a lot better if they advertised more and expanded their hours.

The guys working were beyond helpful and friendly. They even carried the huge order(party platter, gallon of lemonade and bags of chips and cookies) to my car! Subs were delicious. Chips were great and the cookies, ohmygod, were absolutely delightful. One of the guys said to dilute the lemonade with water and he was right. That lemonade was so sweet that I felt sorta sick. But it was all good after the addition of water. Great service and food. Wish there was a Lenny’s in Arlington.

OK, the last couple Lenny’s subs have been really skimpy. Lotsa bread. Not much else. We had been a fan of their cheese-steak sandwich, which has been downgraded to a bread-with-some-steak sandwich. Two skimpy large-sized sandwich orders in a row.(And it wasn’t that just«one» sandwich in the order was skimpy, the were all skimpy!) Still like their pepper relish! JDMc

I went to try this Lenny Sub this location because of the Groupon’s deals. I ordered the Philly’s sub. The sub was greasy. The food and service is not as good as the other location at Babcock. My stomach was sick after I ate.

The only way I discovered this place was because I lived off of Callaghan and got lost one day! I’ve ordered the tuna, and turkey sandwich; both of which were very tasty. I have to warn you: the barbecue chips ROCK! It’s a little pricey and there aren’t specials, however the overall consistency in service and quality has me returning!

Turns out, this is a franchise. I was hoping it’d be some local Lenny. But the place is really spotlessly clean, and the food was fairly good! It was pretty expensive though. I paid $ 9 for a sandwich, chips and a drink! There’s really no personality to this place. It looks like any other sandwich shop you’ve ever seen. The ingredients were fresh, and the sandwich was fat. The service was extremely friendly and fast. I appreciated this place. But I’ll go back when I’m not pinching pennies.
