The chicken soup is downright sinful! They should know better than to sell such addictive substances to unsuspecting folks. Now I’m going to have to keep going back because I’m hooked & las palapas is my pusher lol Also tasty tacos & mighty fine queso w/picadillo!

Fast and friendly. We sat inside and our waitress was kind. We purchased the flautas and combo plate. The flautas were fantastic with sour cream and guacamole. The combo(beef taco, enchilada, and tamale) plate tasted like fast food. We will be returning.

I think the food is OK but it’s not the best. It’s close to my house and I go there from time to time but the meal I got today did not agree with my stomach. The rice was sticky and the chicken was blah, needed extra hot sauce. To make it worse they had some 15 or 16 year old immature girl working the window. She would rather laugh at the customers instead of providing good service. That is the last time I give them my credit card.

Did not enjoy this food at all! I had the green chicken enchiladas. They did use tomatillo sauce but there was absolutely no seasoning in the food at all. Not in the sauce or the shredded chicken inside of the enchiladas. The charro beans and rice were ok. The salsa tasted almost like spaghetti sauce… the chips were good… will not be going here ever again! My husband says: «this sucks!!» Lol

My friend Thomas P. said if I ate at Las Palapas, I would develop super powers. Well I just got off the phone with Nick Fury, and I’ll be damned if he didn’t just invite me to join the Avengers. Las Palapas — great food, even better super powers.

Las Palapas breakfast tacos cured my insomnia, changed my political leanings and made me a dog person when I used to be a cat person. I once fought three lions and an Aggie after eating a bacon-bean-and-cheese taco with a big red. Las Palapas food causes an «oralgasm» which is a feeling of overwhelming euphoria and the urge to stand on a table in a sombrero and chant«GOSPURSGO» on a Wednesday morning in September. Eat at your own risk.

I ordered 4 guisada tacos and boy did I over pay. The tacos had 4 to 3 pieces of meat in each. Maybe they thought lots of gravy was ok instead. They should add gravy to the menu. You can tell the the guisada was cook this morning and rushed out to serve… you can tell by the tough meat. I normally avoid this place but I gave them another chance. I just gotta remember not to pull over. :(

I’m not sure with everyone else but I’ve had amazing service every single time. I love las palapas and their 24 hour service. My favorite is their potato and egg tacos. It taste so fresh and the egg is never watery. Red salsa is great. I can most definitely count on this drive thru Mexican restaurant whenever I’m getting out of work and too tired to cook a meal. :-)

I used to love coming to Las Palapas years ago when it was pretty new. Lately, I genuinely can’t tell the difference between them and Taco Cabana. During my last visit, the tacos from Las Palapas were SMALLER than Taco Cabana and with less quality. Gone are the home made tortillas and stuffed tacos that are superb quality. Now they are just a commercial machine who pumps out tacos like TC. I received a small salsa container, that had 3 drops of salsa… it wasn’t even filled HALFWAY. If you want great tacos and great service and great all around food, hit up Ruthies right across the street and across HEB parking lot.

Just don’t go in the drive tru, they ALWAYS forget something then you try and call it in but they never answer. Going inside is fine.

Worst drive thru ever! Consistently inconsistent! Food is fine for fast food. This used to be a daily stop. It’s easier to call in my order at another stop, get out go inside and get the right order rather than get the wrong or missing items at Las Palapas! So over this place. I LOVE Las Palapas! Not only is the drive-thru open 24 hours but the food is always hot, fresh, tasty and filling. I would highly recommended skipping the local Taco Bell or Taco Cabana and coming here for decent Tex-Mex. The drive-thru service is always quick and painless and I’ve never given an unnecessary attitude. My favorite thing to order here is the Tacos«Al Carbon». It comes with three fajita meat tacos with green onions, cilantro, queso fresco, sliced avocado in a corn tortilla. It will also come with a side of charro beans and rice(you can swap for refried beans like I do). The beef is REAL, not the tofu looking crap that Taco Bell calls«steak». It is delicious and not covered in fat. My husband loves the«Macho Style Burrito» which is humungous. He always eats half and then saves the other half for lunch the next day. It comes in a flour tortilla with rice beans, fajita beef(or chicken, if you prefer), and is topped with lettuce, tomatoes and some of their bland guacamole. You can also have them add or leave off a lot of melted cheese and some sort of enchilada sauce. My only reason for not giving a full five stars is that the guacamole is so bland. It doesn’t come with tomatoes, onions, salt, lemon juice, cilantro, etc. It is like a green paste. I’d rather buy some avocados and make my own at home. I’ll be back… at 2AM.

If you’re a fan of home made soup, you have to try the Caldo de Rez. It just doesn’t get any better, especially on a cold windy, wet day like today. They don’t skimp on anything. Lots of veggies. I had to bring some home with me as I couldn’t finish it all. Corn tortillas are home made but much to thick for my taste and consequently don’t seem to get done in the middle, but that didn’t detract from the soup at all. Trust me, this is as good as it gets.

The quality of the meat is what sells me on this food. That and the price! It’s prettty damn good for being almost fast-food mexican grub. And definitely try the tres leches. Chorizo nachos are bomb. Flautas are tasty(so is the queso).

I eat at this location all the time and used to love it… but the past couple months the quality of the food has gone downhill. The chips are consistently too thick and I just got some queso to go. When I got home there was liquid on the top and the cheese wad clumpy. I ordered flautas a couple weeks ago that looked overcooked. It wad like it was the end of the day and my food items had been microwaved a couple times that day. The chips were stale that day as well. Are they under new management?

Went walking and it started to rain so I stopped off here for breakfast. Was going to Ruthie’s, but oh well. Service was great, the server was very polite. But here is where they failed miserably. My Rancero Plate came out piping hot. As in the PLATE was scorching hot. I was told before hand. That was not a problem, but what was is that it seems like everything on the plate was reheated under the warmer. The ranchero sauce on top of the eggs had a film on it from being over heated, the eggs were wet and dry with flavor. The potatoes were just plain gross. And the bacon was soggy. Coffee was fresh and good. This will be my final visit here. Never had this sort of service at Ruthie’s, not to plug another restaurant, but at least there they clean their tables instead of yap like hens in the back while the tables get dirty. I don’t get it.

Biggest drawback: typically crowded Don’t: go before school hours(high schoolers) BUT their tacos are excellent and one of my favorite places to drop in for a delicious carne guisada fix ;) Also, the staff is very nice so if the drive thru is packed, just park and run inside! I like to pick up large orders for my co-workers so you can just call in the day before and voila! Your order is ready when you get there. I haven’t say down to dine so I couldn’t tell you about that part. Just fast delicious on the go tacos!

Whenever I come to this location, I try to avoid going inside as much as possible. I always go through the drive thru. If you go there on weekday mornings, be prepared to try to avoid all the high school kids. I used to go here to get breakfast before work but with all those kids, it would take forever to just get into the parking lot. However, the food is pretty good. I always get the same taco’s when im here so I can’t vouch for the rest of the food. I seem to always get the same lady at the drive thru window who is always super sweet and is just always happy. Taco’s are definitely better here than at taco cabana so sometimes you just can’t complain. I wouldn’t really go to this location at all if it wasn’t right near were I worked.
