Food is good and portions are good. Service is average to good. There is plenty of parking in their parking lot. It is close to a Walmart and the mall. Seems to be a clean place. The ladies restroom could use some air circulation though. Good place for people of all ages. They have good deals for senior citizens also. This location is better than the location off of 410.

ok — food and service here has been marginal at best on last 2 visits, but both were downright bad tonight… just wanted to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a couple of tacos with hubbie late on a Friday nite. coffee came, I added creamer and it came out in chunks. got waiter and tried again — same problem — chunky creamer, and several more bad in those brought to table. asked for manager. he said he would dump creamer and bring fresh batch. manager watched while I added the creamer — it seemed ok but I wasn’t sure I really trusted it! someone came by to take our order — what? our order should have been on way out! overheard our waiter say he was waiting on 2 tacos and other waiter told him they had been up for awhile. SO semi warm tacos came, I noticed a limp piece of bacon — then found that the bacon was really more raw than cooked — same with eggs, actual raw yolk on taco. my hubbies taco was same, raw bacon and eggs. decided we were done for the night, walked over to manager, he acted like it was no big deal that we had bad creamer, raw bacon and eggs all in same meal. he halfheartedly asked it he could get us anything else. we we declined, he just told us to drive safe as weather was bad. no real apology for problems. ATTITUDE of manager is real reason for this review. all restaurants can have a bad night, but management SHOULD be concerned with bad food or service. I did NOT feel that the manager really cared. hubbie said he overheard other guests sending good back and complaining about their orders. Jim’s is usually our neighborhood late night spot, but we will NOT be back anytime soon, if ever.

Took our 7 year old grandson to Jim’s(his request) for dinner where, we all ordered breakfast. This is the Jim’s located at 183 and Spicewood Springs Road in Austin. Our server was Derrick and we could not have had a funnier and more attentive guy. He made my grandson’s birthday meal a smash! Oh, and the food, great as usual. Thanks Derrick!!!

Typically, this is a 3 to 4 star spot and we are — -were — -frequent customers… until today. Pork chops were not thoroughly cooked(opening up the possibility of trichinosis) and cold, having sat under«heat lamps» far too long. Wife’s pancakes were barely warm for the same reason as an army of servers kept passing the food. Server never even offered drink refills. Manager did, however, remove the charge for the undercooked pork. We’re disappointed with this once fine eatery.

I go here to pick up tacos in the morning and they’re pretty good the salsa they give you with them could be better. I also went once to eat dinner and the burger I got was pretty good I think it took a little longer than I would have liked it too but I can be impatient sometimes. If you’re hungry and its late or really early depending on who you’re talking too this place is alright.

Always good for comfort food. Some good hometown cooking like liver and onions or pancakes or chicken fried chicken. Dessert is always good… pecan pie or apple pie or Boston cream pie. It gets busy on Sundays of course due to the church crowds, but still worth the wait.

diner style place, but the Canadian Cheese soup was the best. The pancakes were large and fluffy. Awesome. Good comfort food

We had the greatest service by Lucy. She was so courteous and sweet. She kept the drinks filled, asked if everything was okay, etc. She was so friendly and I actually enjoyed the experience. What topped it for me, she brought my daughters food first. I’m assuming she overheard my 3 year old saying she was hungry. This made me feel appreciated as a customer and mother. The over all experience was fantastic. Best service I have ever received there. I will request to sit in her section from now on. The only thing that bothered me and left an extremely bad taste in my mouth was the manager Craig. As we were talking to Lucy, her manager made a hand gesture to stop talking to us(my mom, sister, &myself). She wasn’t even talking to us about anything personal or out of line, convo was maybe 1 – 2 min long. Doesn’t he understand that her outgoing personality is what makes her money? The ugly faces he was making towards the other waiters was absolutely disgusting. I went to Jims a week ago and I haven’t been able to move passed it.

A decent place to get standard café fare. Food is good but not great, service can be excellent but is more often just OK, establishment is clean and comfortable. Better than Denny’s or IHOP and offers breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time of day.

Worst experience ever. This is one of my boyfriend favorite restaurant. I’ve never been here before, so he recommends me to go. We arrived at 9:30pm Sunday, after waiting for 15′, we finally got server. Before that, I noticed many customers got in table and their serves right away, but mine is not. I tried to make eyes contact with others waitress and they seem to avoid it. Then the guy wear black shirt seems like a manager or higher position than a waitress. He also avoided me too, and went check with others table. No one wanted to check on our table since I tried to look around and act like«I have no service here». My waitress finally arrived and said she’s not my serve, but she will get the order and sorry for the waiting time. After got our order, she disappeared until we wanted to check out. I got 2 eggs & bacon(breakfast meal). The dish turned out that totally ruined my meal. The hash brown was fried only a quarter of it, not completely fries. bacon with too much oil and not crispy. the scramble eggs taste fishy. And the food was cold since it supposed to be hot. My boyfriend dish turned out okay since he got fried fish. It’s 18 $+5 $ tip. Never come back here!!!

I know this is a chain, which is usually not my favorite place to eat breakfast, but Jim’s was actually good. The waitress was helpful and got the order just as we requested it. The eggs were perfectly soft scrambled(which most places get wrong every time). The biscuits and gravy was very good, tasted homemade rather than package. The pancakes were light and fluffy and had a special taste, not just plan pancakes; the syrup was thick and delicious. The only negative would have to be the coffee — it was watery and weak without much taste at all actually. Unfortunately I love me some java, so I had to give this Jim’s 4 stars rather than 5 despite the yummy breakfast. Nevertheless, I would recommend and I will return.

Onion rings recalled twice for being underdone and not crisp and brown. Manager told me «too late» to redo order. Ribeye(rare) extremely tough to cut. Manager’s telling me «too late» pushed rating down. Extremely disappointed as this is one of my favorite haunts.

First time at this SA legacy. The place was packed on this Sunday noon. I wanted a cheap breakfast, so I got their«pioneer breakfast,» which is a pioneer(local) biscuit smothered with a delicious white sausage gravy with big chunks of pan sausage crumbled, paired with 2 over easy eggs(perfectly cooked) $ 4.99. The order came out in 3 minutes delivered by the cook who made it. Good service. I can’t wait to try one of their lunch specials in the future to see how that food compares. Most of these locations are open 24⁄7. I sat at the counter and the server was as hospitable as they come – one of those«come back and see us again darling» types.

I give this place 2 stars because the food is pretty decent. But the service is horrible… I swear every single time we have been here we have waited anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour for our food. The times we have visited this place was cause grumpys down the road was already closed so it was kind of like a last resort for us. But I’m a very forgiving person so I try to give places multiple chances so I can rate them fairly. Nope… Each time we have been let down. The wait staff has always been nice and apologetic when our orders don’t come out. So I feel like this may be more of an issue with the cooks in the kitchen. At first I thought they might be understaffed but after the visits we made were expanded over the course of almost a year I figure if shortness of staff was the issue. Something would have been done about it by now. The thing though is that sometimes the people who got there after us would get their food before us. we had issues with our orders missing items or this one time in particular… i didnt get my order until everyone else was already done eating. Yes I was upset, because i wanted to eat together with my family not alone with my loved ones just watching me. Overall this place is a good choice if you have more than enough time to kill and are in no hurry to get anywhere.

Dropped in for brunch with my wife. Service was curious and prompt. Nothing amazing or special about the meal, just the standard fair done well, and it was a good atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I ate here two weekends ago. He had the chicken tender basket with fries and I had the chili cheese burger with bacon and jalapeños and onion rings. The onion rings were lukewarm, greasy, soggy, and paper thin. I ate them with a fork and lots of ketchup. My burger wasn’t much better. It was barely warm from the first bite… I could tell that the chili came from a can and that the burger was once a frozen patty in a box. The best part of my meal was the bacon. I didn’t feel like having spit in my food, otherwise I would have sent it back. I don’t think we’ll come back here any time soon!

We had the chicken fettuccine, chicken Marsala and shrimp Alexandra combo. The chicken fettuccine was rich and creamy. The shrimp was excellent. Not too much breaking/excellent flavor. The food was authentic and priced below what it should be.

Visited this place on Saturday 07/26/2014 at 11am. The scene is similar to a Denny’s, simple décor and every type of person. I have lived here in Texas for 8 years, I have passed a few Jims, but never stopped, but one of my friends reccomended we go there instead of Ihop. I wish we never did! The service here was terrible. We even sat at the bar area you think you would get better service. Nope not to mention I kept smeeling a vomit smell and so did my husband I know why now right across from us underneath the bar they kept the bus pan full of dirty dishes YUCK. Our waitress was busy attending to some large party in a back room we only seen her twice once to take the order and 2nd time to give us the bill. The food was horrible, I ordered over medium eggs with bacon hashbrowns and toast. I recieved runny eggs, cold hashbrowns forgot my bacon and toast. My husband ordered pancakes eggs and sausage they forgot half of hi meal and his pancakes were cold. Upon cashing out the cashier asked how was everything. I was truthful I told her this is our first time here and will be our last. She said oh well its best not to come in here on sat or sundays. Really? Do not reccommend this plave to anyone!!!

The service was so slow and monotone. Had to wait eons to get more cream for my coffee. Food left something to be desired. The table behind us was complaining among themselves and involved the manager regarding their server. Both manager and server were very unapologetic despite the complaints which didn’t seem unreasonable(something about being charged for an appetizer, forgot about it and brought it near the end of the meal.) And I think a sincere apology was all they were hoping for. And they still tipped! Overall, just blah for me.
