I’m from Detroit and was with some family also from out of town and we were looking for a good local place to grab a drink. When we drove by Jerry Dean’s we took one look and decided to move on, after going to another bar(which was terrible) we decided to give Jerry Dean’s a try. This bar was great! a nice little neighborhood bar with a very friendly bartender. The place seemed a bit slow for a Friday but that was fine by me. Drinks were reasonably priced and the jute box was playing everything from David Allen Coe to Weezer. My only complaint would be that the men’s bathroom urinal seems to be placed unusually high, and i’m 6 foot tall. So go there, drink, and be merry.

This is a little free-standing bar right of Nacogdoches north of Thousand Oaks, right next to a big U-Haul. I typically go there after midnight due to my schedule and prefer Sun — Thurs since its a little quieter, so i can wind down properly. Not that Friday and Saturday are bad days but i’ve been there too many times when they have a decent crowd and only one bartender and you have to fight to get a drink. The staff is usually very friendly even on those busy nights. What else can i say, cheap beer, cheap booze, nice and dark, & two nude oil paintings that are severely faded due to years of smoke. I love it!
