This is a combined review: it will serve as a warning to those looking for an apartment and contemplating this location; it will also serve as an advisory for those currently living at this location. A brief preface: I have sent three children through college; each of them jumped off campus after freshman year and each of them seemed to relish moving each August. Go figure. In any case, I’ve been a guarantor on quite a few leases in multiple cities at a variety of different properties. I’ve also written contracts to sublet apartments after one child graduated early. With a degree in business, I’m familiar with the UCC, and whatever laws are updated can easily be found online. Love the internet. This property is, most likely, the location that I would wholeheartedly advise people to avoid at all costs. Initially living here may seem idealistic, as rent is lower compared to other area locations around the UTSA campus. However, when your vehicles begin to be vandalized repeatedly and noise becomes a major factor, then it’s obvious that you get what you pay for and it’s time to go elsewhere because management is turning a deaf ear to your complaints. If you are currently living here, you will need two items: your signed lease in a safe place for your reference and a camera. You will also need to visit this website to inform you about Texas Tenants’ Rights: . Pay particular attention to the section about«Normal wear and tear.» Follow some of the other links about how to file a complaint and debt collection, because most likely you will need those two resources. High View Place will come after you; they will charge you for normal wear and tear, they will claim they’ve notified you and then they’ll threaten you with debt collection. They will also claim to have«pictures.» Make sure you have your own to dispute their allegations. Know your renters’ rights. The law is on your side. If you are not currently living here and do not have a lease here, RUN! There are other furnished apartment complexes that are closer to the UTSA campus(albeit slightly more expensive) that are FAR superior to this location. Been there — done that. They’re nicer, safer, more secure and do not muscle you for bogus fees once you’ve left. I’ve experienced quite a few«shady» business practices and«strong-arm» tactics over the years. High View is right up there to receive the Oscar for best performance, hands down. My advice: it’s best not to even entangle yourselves with the debacle they call their«management.»

I lived here for a year and had the worst experience ever. First of all, the management is horrible. They do not care about their tenants and what we have to sayer all. Secondly, LOUD! all of the time. So if you like to sleep, do not live here

Alright. Quick update after I’ve lived here for much longer. They have opened up a small area for visitor parking, so guests don’t have to park on the side of the road. unfortunately the parking is as far away as the road. The bug problems I experienced came because I lived on the first floor. I imagine the 2nd and 3rd floor residents didn’t really have a problem. They did send a bug-man periodically but it didn’t seem to help. The walk up the hill to the office/shuttle pick up is a hassle, but shuttle service is something the apartments have to pay for, not the schools. I am appreciative of it, especially as the new semester brought cut-off shuttle service to some nearby apartments. Of course, sound privacy is pretty non-existant in any student apartment, and this place is no exception. Hopefully you dont live under someone who loves to party on thursday when you have an early friday class. Also, the rooms are smaller than any other student apartment I’ve visited(although the living room is pretty big). Overall, I was able to tolerate living here. nobody stole my car, i had a nice bed to sleep in, and was close to campus. but unless this is your last choice, live somewhere else!
