Hark the ever popular vegetarian restaurant that attempts to appeal to the meaty lusts of the common man. Entrée after entrée with names that allude to animal cousins. Names aside, green always delivers delicious morsels to any desire. Multiple times I have brought skeptical hostages to change their minds only to win the bet each time. Green delivers very fresh food with exceptional quality and flavor. Even if you are trying something new I doubt you will be disappointed. From nada chicken to falafel delights to amazing vegan desserts, I have never been let down. Try the falafel bowl and monk bowl! P. S. Do not do not do not go on Saturdays. I always forget Shabbat!

Bland food, not much flavor. Not the most terrible food I’ve ever eaten but would definitely not choose to eat here again. Had a chicken fried chick N but very bland. Mash was ok. Orange tofu bowl sauce was very overpowering lots of ginger and orange. Friend had the classic sandwich, he said he Felt like it was an overpriced Jason’s deli. Good for vegetarians but if you love meat and are looking to try something new you might not like it. Expected more based on the reviews. Disappointed.

The cauliflower wings are delicious. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and i tasted my friends chicken fried steak and they tasted like chicken. I definitely recommend this to anyone who’s vegan because they have vegan cheeses, sauces, dressings, and desserts, etc.

What a great time we had at lunch yesterday. Food, value, atmosphere, service — all were stellar. Our $ 32 tab got us this: Orange Tofu Bowl —($ 10) Popcorn tofu tossed in a homemade Asian orange sauce, broccoli and chia seed brown rice. This was my meal and it was delicious! I loved the sautéed orange rinds in the dish. Great orange flavor, great sauce and rice, plenty of broccoli. I chopped up the broccoli, added some sirachi and tossed the whole mess together, man oh man was it good. Chik-N Parmesan — Chik-N filet, marinara sauce and parmesan cheese, served over linguine pasta. Garden salad on the side. $ 10.50. I asked my son for a taste of the Chik-n cutlet, and it came pretty damned close to tasting what real chicken is. It tasted a lot better than the real but badly overcooked chicken we had last night at Maria Mia Mexican Bistro on the River Walk. The Classic(Vegetable Sandwich on honey multigrain) — Avocado, cucumbers, sprouts, sesame seeds, spinach, sliced tomato, with chipotle mayo, plus a side dish for $ 9. The prices plus the portions plus the quality = excellent values. Their dessert are incredible, go check out the works of art that are their cupcakes. We added a peanut butter-banana cupcake to go. I loved the laid back bohemian vibe of the place too.

There is nothing I enjoy more than good vegetarian food. That being said I’d say this place is slightly below average. The veggie burger was not very good. In my opinion I’d say that Burger King has a better veggie burger(I am not suggesting you eat at Burger King). They also gave me a bag of ruffles chips for my side. I could have gone to Valero for that. Kind of insulting. Service is decent. I will give them props on their vegan desserts. Very tasty. All in all I probably wouldn’t go back other than to get a cupcake every now and then. I’d like to say I’d go back just to support the«cause» but I genuinely feel like this place has a vegetarian theme just to make money.

By far my favorite spot to eat! We have been coming regularly for a year now and I’ve tried almost everything. My children love it, too. I also always leave with cupcakes to go. It is a very laid back atmosphere which is good, but leads to some of the service being slow or too casual. Overall, GO! Take your meat eating friends, too, they won’t be disappointed!

This place is amazing. Every time we go the food is(mostly) delicious. Our fav dishes are… Eggplant Parmesan Chicken Parmesan Big Nasty Burger Monk Bowl My only complaint is the quality of some things. They serve the burger with an unopened bag of Ruffle Chips, and I mean honestly you could at least dump them out so we don’t know they’re ruffles. This is supposed to be all about healthy vegetarian food. And the lemonade is supposedly«fresh» but tastes exactly like watered down lemonade. The normal vegan desserts are pretty good, but the GF cupcakes taste like dry cardboard(what most ppl expect vegan stuff to taste like). They need to work on quality, that’s the reason for only 3 stars. Otherwise, thanks for being a great option for vegans in San Antonio!

Perfect place for those transitioning to a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. Lots of delicious filling options. The burgers are amazing, and the homemade sauces take them to another level! Always opt for the sweet potato fries, trust me. And the location is ideal for taking a walk on the river after eating and maybe take a cupcake to go. :)

I got the Jalapeño & Cheese burger and it was awesome! I’m a meat lover and I found this burger very satisfying. One of my favorites. I always get the Cauliflower hot wings and these are amazing! This dish actually makes me CRAVE cauliflower! Crave! I dream about it! It’s that good! Their Deluxe nachos are huge and tasteful, definitely recommend for sharing, or as a meal by itself. Another thing you can’t pass up, is the dessert! I always get a cupcake when I come no matter how stuffed I am, you can always eat it later ;)

The best Vegetarian cuisine in town without a doubt. The food is so amazing you’d never realize it’s all vegan. The nachos to start off with as an appetizer are to orgasm for they are the best appetizer on the menu for me at least. The service is superb! I’ve never had a bad experience here not once not ever. And the location is just breathtaking I love the pearl, I never have a problem finding parking to eat here either. If you haven’t gone to eat here well just shoot yourself in face because you are missing out!!!

Visiting San Antonio for a few months & decided to try this place. The environment is very friendly & relaxed. The food is even more delicious! I had the Mediterranean Bowl & this plate was DELICIOUS… and I’m not even a Vegetarian or Vegan! It’s that good! I also tried their Veggie burger a friend ordered & it was delicious as well… couldn’t even tell it wasn’t a beef burger!(and I love beef burgers!) I will be returning to try more of the menu items while I’m here!

Two meals here on a recent trip to San Antonio. First, was with my 21 yo daughter and 19 yo son for lunch. Son had jalapeño cheese burger and reported that it was one of the best veggie burgers he has ever had, however the fries are a bit oversalted. My daughter had the falafel wrap and I had the falafel bowl. The wrap had a few too many onions and the falafel was passable but a bit on the dry side. The bowl was well put together though, with quinoa, salad and beans; a nice meal. We returned a few evenings later with my wife and youngest daughter. Not quite as good this time. The tomato basil soup was a bit thin and kind of tasteless and the ‘fish’ and chips while not bad wasn’t very memorable. Overall, Friendly staff, good service, pleasant atmosphere and solid food. 4 stars

We come to San Antonio periodically for meetings, and always make a point of coming by the Green Vegetarian Restaurant. The food is always fantastic! This trip we tried the fried chick chicken which was fantastic. It comes with mashed potatoes and their famous kale salad. This dish was really good all the flavors mixed nicely. We also really liked the Cici Stir Fry. It was very flavorful, and probably my favorite dish yet! My only problem is that we are never in town long enough to try all the good looking dishes. Update — We love this place! The staff are friendly, and the new location feels very inviting. We were in town for a week and ate here four times(twice for breakfast and twice for dinner)! We wish we could pack this place up, and transport it home with us. The omelette sate awesome. The breakfast tacos are really good too. Last night we tried the«Big nasty» burger. It was hard to get our mouths around it, but it was worth the effort! Good work guys! Keep it up, and see you again next year.

We came with a group of 6 people and everything we ate was delicious! Nachos were really good. Also the hot wings, buffalo chicken burger, quinoa burrito, cece’s stir fry and the chik-N parm were excellent. Highly recommend this place for vegetarians and vegans. Our waiter Makayla was the best waiter!!!

Best vegetarian spot I’ve been to in a long time — truly delicious. I had the Munk Bowl and it looks like it’s good for you versus good tasting, but the flavors were simply amazing — quinoa, kale, and beans… That’s it, but great. Also save room for dessert.

This restaurant earns it’s stars. Everything they served looked delicious and my dish was one of the best gluten-free, vegan, kosher dish I’ve ever had. I had the kaleupas and my husband had the monk bowl which was super good too(the chipotle mayo was a little spicy for me but I’m a lightweight in that category… it was mild to him). They have gluten-free and began desserts that are delicious so don’t miss out on those.

Yummy yummy food! This location is in the heart of the Pearl brewery, and has delicious vegetarian food for both breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The orange tofu bowl had deliciously fresh broccoli and a great game to it to imitate orange chicken-it was really good. Sweet potato fries were overly greasy, though. We also tried the eggs Benedict, which was a good choice. However they are really limited with how they prepare their eggs… No poached or Sunnyside up for Benedict. Great place for a quick healthy meal.

Really like to eat here, it’s a nice place for SA. Surprising that SA has places like this, we live in Denver which sounds like we should have good vegan /vegetarian scene, but Texas has us beat. And this place is one of the best in Texas. Woohoo! As good as it gets!

I was in the area of this place before a bunch of appointments yesterday and figured I would try it. I gave up meat for Lent and trying to find places where I can have more than just a salad has been a pain in the butt! This place was nice for around 10am as it was not very busy. I looked at the menu but noticed it did not have a whole lot of options which was kind of a bummer for me. I decided that I would get the Green Omlet and was in heaven! There were spinach, mushrooms, and onions cooked in this perfect, egg white omlet. It was served with hash browns which were flavorful and perfectly cooked to where they were not mushy but not too crispy. To top off the meal I also had multi-grain toast that was delicious with the grape jam. I plan on coming back for dinner and hopefully it is just as good, if not better and cannot wait until I taste the food!

What a GEM. For the quality, the dishes are amazingly priced. My dinner was full of vibrant flavors, and it took forever to decide which gorgeous cupcake to get. My server was extremely friendly and funny. As for atmosphere, the casual veggie humor murals made for a loose unpretentious vibe. All kinds of people come here to eat, so it doesn’t feel at all like a «clique» community. Dogs are welcome on the patio!

We have been trying to get here ever since we went vegetarian/pescaterian. This place is to die for! The staff was super friendly! Food came out fast and was well worth the wait! We will definitely be coming back over and over. I have recommended it to all of my carnivores as well as my herbivores! This is our new spot for date nights!

The food is fast & there’s lots of interesting vegan dishes. I would prefer something less oily but that’s okay. The waitresses are these really hot college-girl types who paid lots of attention to me.

This is a true gem in a spectacular complex! The menu is completely vegan, from appetizers to entrees. The location is adorable, dog-friendly and has a great patio area as well to enjoy the nicer days. Furthermore, the waitstaff is amazing and their cucumber water is wonderfully clean and crisp. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, and the prep areas and kitchen are visible so you can see what’s going on. I loved the feel of the place. I had the Mediterranean quinoa bowl and shared the cauliflower buffalo wings appetizer. The bowl was great(would prefer it not in a large wheat tortilla, but it was still delicious and that pecan hummus was very nice) but the buffalo wings? To freaking die for! They were the right amount of sauce, crisp and taste that made them some of the best, if not the best, cauliflower wings I’ve had. Glad this place is in Houston, because this is definitely one of the best vegetarian places I’ve had the privilege of dining at. If you hit up San Antonio though, or live in the area, definitely check out Pearl Brewery and this place – wonderful!

Get the cauliflower hot«wings» they will not disappoint! I honestly think I could eat these a few days a week and be pleased. No, they don’t taste like chicken, but they do taste delicious and I don’t necessarily miss the chicken. I also ordered the falafel bowl. The kale, spinach, quinoa, cucumbers and tzatziki were delicious. The falafel… not so much. I really expected a phenomenal falafel from a vegan restaurant, but it really lacked taste. Also, the tomatoes weren’t fresh and I’d prefer them to be chopped as opposed to a whole slice which I then have to cut myself. It’s another causal and kid friendly place, very much in and out. In the future I’ll likely just get my food to go as there isn’t much of an ambiance. The desserts were popular, it seemed all of the tables around me were getting them. Overall, they have quite a large menu for limited food options. I want more cauliflower!

My first experience was alright. The food was decent but my waitress was too busy flirting with the manager. Second time, my server was mildly hostile. Slammed my drink on the table pretty hard and pretty much demanded an order. Definite hostility in her eyes. I don’t like to eat around negativity so I asked for my food to be wrapped to-go. I go home, super hungry, and there’s a hair in my kale salad. Third time, I ordered to-go, another hair. I’m done with Green. I tried.

I am not a vegetarian and I thoroughly enjoyed a meal here with family. While on a strict vegan fast in order to spend more time in prayer, I found this little eatery visiting San Antonio. The initial smell walking in was not appetizing, however to my surprise the food was very appealing to my senses. Normally, I add cheese when cheese is optional, and ask for extra meat when it’s not necessary. While at Green, though, I was easily able to find something on the menu that fit my needs and satisfied my hunger. The celery slaw was delicious, and the jalapeño chick-pea burger(no cheese, *wipes tears away*) was fantastic. I had no idea a place like this could fill me up. Unfortunately, there were some downsides to this little place, and those are as follows: 1. Entrées are plated with a gross pickle, and a ‘heart’ design made of berry sauce, but both looked as though they were prepared hours before. 2. The dirty smell of the place was much too strong, even for a natural health joint. Floors and menus reflect the smell. Fortunately, there were some great things to this little place, and those are as follows: 1. Location = great; situated amongst a modern, posh outdoor mall. 2. Flavor combos were top-notch. 3. Prices were surprising low. Overall, this was a nice find in the Northern Downtown San Antonio area. We will be back for some of their dessert offerings next time!

This place has a beautiful sign out front. The positive review stops there. My previous vegetarian experience is True Food in L.A. If you know west coast healthy-style restaurants, this place will disappoint. I ordered the monks bowl, the garbanzos were salty, the kale oily, the tofu greasy, and the stuff in the middle was spoiled. Left disappointed. The staff appears to eat most of their meals at McDonald’s or Burger King.

This was my second visit. I am not a vegetarian nor am I vegan but I found some of the dishes to be delicious. I love Greek food and the Falafal bowl was pretty good. The dolmas was amazing, the kale and fresh veggies as well. The dressing on the kale was sweet and refreshing. The Falafal could have been better, it was too mushy for my liking. The buffalo cauliflower is the best thing ever. Kinda expensive for the small portion but so worth it. The biscuits they brought before our meal… Well they could have kept that in the kitchen. And last but not least the sweet potato pancakes are simply divine.

Interior is very cute, staff is very nice, and I’m sure the baked items are delicious… but I was traumatized by real food experience: Everything was so salty!!! We ordered cece’s stiry fry and the fiesta bowl and just couldn’t finish any of the items due to the saltiness level. Additionally, the flavors weren’t exactly thrilling and the dishes were pricey for what they were(imo). Maybe I’ll come back and order some different items, but my experience just wasn’t worth it for me to return anytime soon.

Green is a vegetarian restaurant attached to a brewery in a hip San Antonio neighborhood. Green offers a wide range of vegetarian dishes, all of which can be made vegan. It has«fake» meat options for newbies like fish and chips, a range of veggie burgers, and a slew of entrees, salads, and more. Think lots of chalk art, dog friendly patio, plenty of kale and quinoa, and an emphasis on gluten free desserts. I was by myself and ordered the falafel bowl, side of tofu, and the mushroom stroganoff, which was the special. The falafel bowl was great — it included three pieces of falafel, a generous portion of quinoa, kale with a light dressing, pieces of cucumber and tomato, and vegan tzatziki sauce. The kale and quinoa tasted very good. I would return just for the kale and quinoa if I were looking for a light meal. The falafel itself was average — you’d probably find something better at an actual Mediterranean restaurant. The other components of the bowl weren’t very memorable, but they were nice to have. The mushroom stroganoff wasn’t very good. I was told that it was cooked with shiitake mushrooms, and the sauce definitely tasted like shiitake mushrooms, but the mushrooms inside the sauce were not shiitake mushrooms. Overall, the stroganoff tasted very out-of-a-box. It came with a side salad, which was very interesting. It was a mix of carrots, celery, greens, peppers, etc. The salad tasted very fresh, but it wasn’t quite put together in that it felt like odds and ends dumped into a bowl. The vegetarian Caesar dressing was very good, though. I totally recommend. The highlight of my evening was the tofu. It was soft inside, but cooked in a way that gave it a crispy outside. The seasoning allowed it to stand on its own. I’d come back just for the tofu. Also, I didn’t have to Google the spelling of tofu, unlike tzatziki and shiitake, which is an added bonus. The waiter was especially kind, even as she upsold me on the mint cucumber water for 50 cents. I’d definitely come back if I were in the area, and I need to try out the Houston location. Hopefully I can convince some of meat eating folks to join me.
