Factory Mattress – San Antonio

My husband and I were in the market for a king size mattress. Our first stop was Factory Mattress where we met Jerry O’Connor. He made a great first impression. He was personable, natural, and informative; he started by telling us about the company he worked for and why he worked there; he educated us on different kinds of mattresses and helped us figure what we were looking for. For the next week, my husband and I visited Mattress Firm, Denver Mattress, Rooms to Go, Costco, Sam’s, Star and shopped online for mattresses. While Jerry was open and honest about the pros and cons of all mattresses and focused on helping us figure out what would fit our needs, the other salespeople we encountered were clearly most concerned about selling a mattress. While that is their job, Jerry was not pushy and we found others pushed us to buy something immediately even though we had said we were not ready to purchase.
After a week or so of looking around, I knew that I wanted to purchase my mattress from Jerry and Factory Mattress. I liked the customer service, the honesty, their community service, their family values and the fact that they work with Salvation Army. Jerry was the only salesperson that took the time to connect with us, tell us about why we should shop with his company, and take the time to answer all our questions without rushing us to buy something. He was also the most knowledgeable salesperson we met. My husband and I are talkative and social with lots of questions, so Jerry spending a lot of time with us worked for us. However we noticed that Jerry was also able to work quickly and effectively for customers that like to keep it short and sweet. We returned to Factory Mattress, cut right to chase and told Jerry what we wanted. We bought a Beautyrest Sylvan Lake with steel box springs and a cooling mattress pad.
The mattress was able to be delivered earlier than promised, the delivery was seamless and professional, they took my old mattress and box springs and Jerry stayed in communication with us until the mattress was delivered. We have had the mattress for a few weeks now and it is amazing. I could tell you all the things I love about the mattress, but amazing wraps it up. The cooling mattress pad keeps the entire bed a consistent temperature so that body heat is equally distributed. When I roll over to a new spot, it is the same temperature. Honestly, you can find a good mattress at any of the places we shopped. Factory Mattress however, had the best price, the best customer service, the best exchange policy and gives the most back to San Antonio. Why shop anywhere else?!

Originally I was going to go back to Furnish 123 where I bought my bed frame and couch. I was skeptical because I had an AWFUL experience with them (see separate review). But was willing to go through it for the mattress set I remembered them to have. When I pulled in I noticed Factory Mattress right next door. Now don’t ever step foot in there if you’re not willing to drop at least a grand (they do finance by the way). These are the kind of beds you dream about and keep for years. They have 10 – 20 year warranties and they are worth it. I like my bed über plush, Im talking Angel Food Cake plush! When I walked in I started sitting on every bed. There was only one sales person (Sarah) who didnt seem very warm and fuzzy to be honest. But Im sure she has tons of people coming in to sit on the beds and then walk right out. Anyway, I told her what I was looking for and she singled out 3 beds. I felt like freakin Goldilocks. This one is too soft (too soft. I didnt think that was possible). this one’s to firm and this one is just right. I found my dream bed! Simmons Beauty Rest Pawtucket Evenloft Plush. They no longer make them. a new model has come out. Now Sarah knows her beds. she was amazing with her knowledge and she softens up after awhile. This bed however would cost me $ 1600 inclusive of delivery. I have never spent this much on a bed before so I was wary. I made a deal with myself. I would go to Furnish 123 and see if the mattress I liked over there was available. That one only cost $ 400. So next dor I went, I found the mattress and it was not in stock. it would take 2 weeks, For Furnish 123 this means 2 months so the decision was made. I financed part of it. but if you pay it off within 90 days, its same as cash and that’s my intention.
2 days later it was flawlessly delivered. I slept on it for 2 days and it felt more like Tofu then the Angel Food Cake I remembered. I called the store and spoke with Jason. He informed be that the beds on the floor have been broken in… every shape and size have been sitting on them for 3 months. Found out that I have 365 days to determine whether or not I like the bed! If not I can exchange it for one of equal or greater value. How amazing is that?!!
If you’re looking for a new bed and are ready to invest in one. go see Sarah. She knows her sh*$ and she’s not car sales-​y/​pushy if you know what I mean. Ive seen Jason in action and he’s the car sales-​y type. To be honest, I may not have bought if he had been the salesperson that night. It’s just a personality thing. If I feel like Im being sold I fight it.
