Dive-Masters of San Antonio

This is my favorite dive shop. Locally owned and operated and everyone that works there cares deeply about Scuba and, most importantly, Safety. I’ve taken 4 training classes there so far and all have been fantastic. Like most local shops, some things can be found cheaper online but I frankly would much rather pay a bit more to both support my local business and for the added expertise, advice, and help that comes long with buying things from them.
The atmosphere is very laid-​back and non-​corporate, which I very much like. Tom (the owner and the guy usually working behind the counter), while he might seem initially a bit gruff, is actually a super nice and helpful guy and a great instructor as well. Likewise, the other instructors are wonderful, patient, thorough, and fun.
I’ve been to a number of dive shops locally and abroad. While many have been good, this one is great. For those wanting to learn to Scuba dive (it’s awesome!) I highly recommend stopping at Dive Masters first.

Awesome awesome awesome!!! They guys were awesome! Me and my husband took classes and felt so involved with not only the other students in the class, but all the staff even Tom lol! We saw that they were dog friendly, so our dog Penny hung out with us, and they took care of here while we were diving the first weekend.
We definitely learned a lot from our instructors Travis and Gregg, and they sure as heck weren’t going to sign off unless we knew our stuff! The mask clearing was a little tough at first, but Gregg worked one-​on-​one with me, and made sure I got it down.
Afterwards, we got to hang out with the crew, and ham to scuba tunes while enjoying a nice adult beverage on the porch. While we weren’t on a beach, we sure felt like beach bums, and had a great time!
I recommend this shop to anyone looking for a quality education (the price is worth it) and looking to have a great time doing it!

Dive Masters of SA is such a great place! Their staff was extremely helpful! They werent trying to force you to buy anything but rather sat down and explained to me as a new diver what i would want to look for in gear! From good grip on booties to how to properly put on and take off a wet suit and how to test masks! They teach both Padi and SSI i believe and have a pool on site!
If i knew about this place sooner i would have gotten certified through them because they seem extremely knowledgeable, personable, informative and truly for the diver and the community! Love love love this place and recommend it to everyone!
