Don’t bother with the buffet on the weekends. Vegetable Lumpia was so greasy I think it was all pig fat — literally left a greasy film in my mouth. The Pancit had ZERO flavor. I’m «Joe», I’ve spent a few years in the Philippines and I know what Filippines food tastes like. This is not a good place to try. My wife is Filipina, and she also says«Never again».

LOVE this place! I haven’t been there in a while because my working hours don’t match with their operating hours but the moment I get a chance I. AM. SO. THERE! The owner is extremely sweet as well and the time I went they had already closed but she brought me in anyways so I could eat. How sweet is that?! .and to top it off the food is delicious! I definitely recommend this place.

So legit Phillipino place in the epidemy of a no frills setting. Affordable lunch buffet with everything from pork blood stew to fried pork belly. There were about 5 other pork dishes that ranged from spicy to sweet and several other dishes that I can’t even begin to describe except for they’re fun to try. Definatley scratched my itch for real phillipino fare and the fact that it’s run by an incredibly nice family made the experience that much sweeter.

Home-coked Filipino food. Considering there’s very few other Filipino restaurants in San Antonio, it’s decent. A lot of the stir-fried dished were significantly more greasy than I expected. However, it’s a good selection of food for their weekend buffet deal.

Positives and negatives. If you’re going to advertise lunch buffet on your sign, change it to weekend since it’s not 7 days a week. Took my parents and wife. I had the corned beef, egg and rice(cornsilog). It could’ve been named sibuyasilog since it was half onion and half corned beef. Sibuyas is onion in Tagalog. Tasty dish but didn’t need all the onions. My wife had lechon kawali(crispy pork belly) which was the best dish! Mom had tilapia which was way too salty to eat half. And dad had the sampler platter of chicken adobo, pancit and rice. It was fine. We all shared an order of lumpia too which was great! The lady that took our order was very pleasant but then we got served by the lack luster husband with no personality. So all in all it was like going to a Filipino household without all the talking over each other. I know we’ll be back for the weekend buffet sometime in the future. Maybe if we were all Filipino girls he would have been nicer since he was falling over himself to help the other tables of girls. Haha! Just a little jab!

Filipino cuisine is very simple and uncomplex. The adobo here was ok. My criticism is that the plate was of bad cuts of chicken. There were too many bones. Most of my dish was bones. The sauce for the adobo was clear and tasty. It was lightly acidic and lightly soyed. It lacked black pepper corns. It had a strong garlic and onion flavor. It was a good combination with a spoon of steamed rice. The lumpia is an all time favorite. They were delicatly crispy and thin. The restaurant is worth a second try.

I was born and raised in the Philippines so I am very particular about Filipino food. Growing up I loved liempo and this place’s lechon kawali just nailed me right in my childhood! Everything was really good and definitely affordable. I’m not sure if their goal was to be a carinderia-style place but it gave me that kind of vibe and that made it feel like I was back home just watching ASAP on TV because my grandparents or titas wanted to watch it and I had no choice but watch(and secretly enjoy) it, too. Sheryl was very accommodating and was always available to help out. She mentioned they just opened five months ago and this place seems promising. My husband, who’s also Filipino but grew up here(and didn’t start eating that much Filipino food until we first started dating), even said that he can eat here everyday! We’re definitely coming back for more!

So after my first experience, I went back on a weekend as suggested. Totally super glad I did. The food on the weekend was amazing. Full offerings and everything looked fresh, from all sorts of pork belly to lumpia to adobo to seafood paella, etc. I was much happier, because now they’re labeling the food, and the food looked much fresher. I went again this last weekend as well. This restaurant is new, its expanding what its doing, and its finding its legs. I think they’re getting a good start and I’ll probably be a regular here.

This is a buffet style Filipino restaurant. The food was kind of cold and didn’t taste freshly made. It may have been sitting there for a while. The food wasn’t horrible, but there are better places out there. They also served boba tea which was neat. But we came for the Filipino food and more than likely will not come back. Can’t say much about service because obviously you serve yourself.

Excellent & very authentic Filipino food. The sisig was so tasty and spicy too. The pork adobo was also delicious and the lumpia was the best lumpia I’ve had in a long time! The desserts are so great; the leche flan and the bilo-bilo were perfection. The lunch buffet also includes a stick of Pinoy pork BBQ which takes me back to the amazing street BBQ you find in the Philippines, they’ve got the marinade all right. Filipiñana is now my family’s go-to restaurant for the Filipino foods we don’t eat at home(:

Deco Café Filipiniana is bursting with delicious Pinoy dishes that will easily remind you of traditional Filipino homemade cooking prepared by your nanays, aunties and lolas back home. The owners who operate the restaurant themselves are marvelous in the kitchen as well as in the dining area. Don’t be surprised to see the one of them walking around the tables handing out skewered pork bbq to the diners for extra treat. And don’t forget to pay your respects to the their Filipino pastry genius behind their bibingka, palitaw, kutsinta, etc — Nanay Shirley. Oh, did I mention the bobba tea is to die for?

The food on the buffet was pretty good but, not many choices. They only put out a little bit at a time(which they probably do so as to not waste. They aren’t very busy). The employees were nice. They also have a menu that you can order from but, they don’t offer two of my favorites, palabok and kare kare. Try it out, the food taste is authentic.

$ 12 for buffet and not bad with the amount of choice they have. the Laing was pretty good(mustard greens, spinach in coconut milk), they have sisig and lechon and other dishes such as adobo. The dessert consist of biko(sweet rice cake) and Leche plan which was really good. I like the fact that this place is close to fort Sam /downtown San Antonio. its really hard to find a good Filipino or Asian restaurant in this area. My only complain was they need to get a fan or crank up their a/c cuz I was sweating while eating but hopefully they fix that. oh they also have boba here, so this place will be my go to spot in SA for yummy Filipino food.

I was visiting San Antonio and was craving for some Filipino homecooked meals and I found this Filipino diner that just opened and was recommended from Unilocal.Owners/staffs were friendly. The food is good and inexpensive. The place is spacious. It could probably accommodate around 40 people at a time.

A newly opened Filipino buffet restaurant, and as someone who lives in downtown pretty darn happy that they opened so I don’t have to drive all the way to Leon Valley just for my Pinoy fix! Wee! Pretty decent selection of Filipino favorites, I was in a rush so wasn’t able to grab some of the kakanins but that just gives me reason to come back. :)
