My two little kids 6&12, and I love this place! Always fresh and tasty!~ Their subs are so delicious I’m craving one right now! My son loves their ambrosia style fruit salad, totally worth it! I love the #13 and the #6. Super yummy and casual, friendly service, very clean place! I really hope it stays this way. I love bypassing that pretentious lame Grimaldi’s and thinking in my head, I’m putting my nose up in the air to you guys. lol I really don’t like grimaldi’s, super overrated.

For sandwiches this place it the best there is. No more subway for me. Their bread is so fresh and so is all of the produce they use. I have tried multiple sandwiches there and they have all been amazing. Friendly staff and cool fun environment. If you haven’t tried Dave’s Cosmic Subs you are missing out.

Stooped in last night to grab dinner after a super long week. Service was great and cashier was very friendly. We grabbed two meatball subs which were simply amazing. Bread was toasty, sauce was great, meatballs were very soft like homemade ones are if you know what you are doing. Cheese on top was toasty and hot. Teens polished them both off and I only got a bite which was soooo good. Our new favorite stop when headed home down 281. Can’t wait to try some other options the cashier recommended.

I’m not saying this place is bad. But they’d probably pick up Jared from subway if they had to. Because this place must be desperate for business the way they be throwing stale bread at customers like they’re a bunch of seagulls.

Great service from friendly staff. The food is worth the cost especially if you are using a groupon. Portion size is more than generous.

Family came here after a game. Here is what we had: The big Dave(#28) this was great — I would definitely have this again. Daughter had the Original Dave(#1) she loved it and especially like the cosmic sauce Wife had Daves San Fran(#24) she loved it. Loved the bread. Son had the super Dave(#7) — he loved it. Will definitely come back.

Awful. I ordered a toasted sandwich with turkey, cheese, red onion, avocado, sprouts, and some sort of sauce. It came out with white onion and the entire sandwich had been toasted. As a result, the sprouts were brown and the avocado was warm. So gross. To add to it, the sandwich was smothered with sauce, which I find very unappetizing. We asked that they fix the sandwich since I love red onions and that’s part of why I ordered that particular sandwich. They just added red onions on top of the white onions(which they said weren’t added because they weren’t cut up… I’m, ok. Lazy.) and brought me back out the same sandwich that had my one bite taken out if it. We were so grossed out by the overall experience that we got up and left all our food basically untouched. Other low points: — processed disgusting cheddar cheese sprinkled on our kids’ turkey sandwich — thick sliced deli meat — this is a personal preference, but I don’t like deli meat unless it’s very thinly sliced — pickle juice. All. Over. Our. Sandwiches. Seriously, some people hate pickles. Our family… not big fans. And my husband ordered his specifically with no pickle and it came out with a pickle sitting on the bread.

We have been here three times and will continue to come back. The subs are huge and usually cover us for two meals. They have over 30 to choose from. Staff is very friendly. Atmosphere is 60’s-70’s rock n roll. Very groovy :-)

This is a psychedelic sub shop, y’all! I love the mural of musicians, really adds to the funky atmosphere. The menu has some creative sandwiches, but they have signs up saying«additions welcome, no substitutes!” — not the place if you’re into customizing your sando. The namesake original has Pepperoni, Genoa Salami, Prosciutto, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Sliced Banana Peppers, Onions, Fresh Garlic, Herbs, Provolone Cheese smothered with Dave’s Cosmic Sauce. It’s a lot of flavor packed into a giant, boat-sized roll. Meats were flavorful and tasted fresh-cut, and the shredded mozz and peppers somehow worked despite my initial reservations. However, the cosmic sauce seemed to be a house-made mayo. Service was… nice. The guy at the counter was friendly but the dude in the kitchen seemed to be moving in slow motion. 15 minutes to get a sandwich in an otherwise empty restaurant is a bit much. I also found it odd that the outdoor seating was dragged inside and stacked up for closing with 1.5 hours left til the restaurant actually closed.

Sandwiches have interesting combinations — I had an original, which is Genoa salami, prosciutto, shredded mozzarella(?), lettuce, and mayo(?). The sandwich itself was delicious — the shredded cheese instead of sliced was an interesting choice, but it worked well with the more compact feel of the sandwich. The sandwich structure was good, but having to hold it vertically so the cheese wouldn’t fall out effectively created a layer of cheese, layer of meat, and layer of lettuce, such that you couldn’t enjoy all three at once. The atmosphere is great, with tables for two or four inside and outside. There’s murals and framed portraits of classic rock legends everywhere, hits are always playing, and all the staff wears tie dye. There’s only one size of drink, and overall it’s very casual and easy. The location itself is hard to find, but worth it. My one complaint is that the menu is dense and hard to read, without any pictures.

Had the Dave’s Peace Steak– probably the most flavorful sub I’ve ever had– tons of ingredients. A little pricy, and the bread could have been carved out better. Soup isn’t anything to write home about.

Stopped at Dave’s for the first time tonight. Loved the inside. Very funky and fun. Now let’s talk food. WORST sandwich ever. And they screwed up and didn’t toast it.(Not that it would’ve helped) My children and I couldn’t even finish them. They found the trash real quick. Total waste of time and money.

After a long drive from Houston, my friend and I decided to get a light lunch before getting back home. I got a corned beef, just corned beef and no veggies, yeah, a man’s meal(j/k). It was delicious I loved their brand of soda, but man, so much sugar in them. wow.

This place is awesome! They make some really great sandwiches, both cold and toasted. So far I’ve had the Dave’s Peace Steak(it’s a philly with Dave’s peppercorn sauce) and the Classic(it’s the first listed on their menu board, all i remember is loads of shredded provolone and salami) A con to this place is that a couple times I’ve gone they were closed before their scheduled closing time, we’re talking by 9:20 on Monday when they advertise staying open til 10, the other was a quarter til 9 on Sunday when they closed at 9, which is a bit more understandable. It’s in a great area with many other great food options that stay open even later, so even more surprising that they wouldn’t want to keep customers. Another strangeness to this place is the way they wrap their subs, so many times I’ve either lost or came really close to losing my pickle spear because they wrap it underhand while the rest of the sandwich gets wrapped overhand. My recommendation is go for lunch since their hours possibly vary at night and watch out for losing your pickle

Yummy, yummy, yummy, Cosmic Dave’s in my tummy! I really like the subs at Cosmic Dave’s. When I went here the first time, I was overwhelmed by all of the choices on the menu… I think there are like 27 or 30 sandwiches to choose from. Some are served hot, some are served cold, you can get steak, italian, chicken parm, all kinds of meats and stuff. My favorite is The Original Dave’s Cosmic Sub. It has Pepperoni, Genoa Salami, Prosciutto, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Sliced Banana Peppers, Onions, Fresh Garlic, Herbs, Provolone Cheese, smothered with Dave’s Cosmic Sauce. WHOA, that is A LOT of yumminess on one sandwich. I have had it cold and hot, and prefer it hot, The Cosmic Sauce is great, too. It is like a kicked up Italian dressing, but it doesn’t overpower the sandwich. They serve Dirty potato chips… YUM! But, they do not have ‘regular’ flavored chips, according to my daughter. I love the Funky Fusion chips with my subs. On another note, the owner is always there and he walks around and talks with everyone there. He is very personable and friendly and makes you feel very welcome.

Fun clean place! I had the meatball sub. It was larger than I expected. The marinara sauce was awesome! Good size meatballs. The staff is incredibly friendly! I also tried the Tasty Bacon Sandwich. That was good too.

I love this place! I walked in searched the menu for awhile looking for something that sounded agreeable, selected the number 24 Dave’s San Fran, too many things on it to remember them all but it AMAZINGLYGOOD!!! It was topped with hot sauce and cole slaw, and all the flavors just worked. It’s was so good I went back the next day and got it again. I went again for lunch today tried the number 23, Dave’s Club. It was equally good. I think the best part is the Italian Bread the sandwiches come on, it really sets up a solid foundation for the rest if the sandwich. The menu would suggest that this chain is from the north somewhere I suspected Chicago, because of the use of Hot Peppers on a lot of the sandwiches. But I found out that it’s from Cleveland, or maybe Cincinnati, either way it’s from Ohio somewhere. I think they picked the right spot to be in. Because every that lives off stone oak moved here from somewhere else, except for a few of us who got lucky. Anyway, I think a lot of people from up north will find this menu welcoming and nostalgic of their home cities. Please come check it out! The sandwiches are really amazing. You’ll be so happy you did. Look for my pics, I took sandwich pics to give you the visual.
