The pastries are made fresh and taste amazing. Coffees and lattes taste delicious! Great baristas! Definitely recommend for your pastry needs.

Why go to Starbucks when you can come here? Good coffee and gourmet teas. Love the relaxed atmosphere.

Great service but a lot of the pictures of the things I wanted were not available such as the big marshmallow, monte cristo, cheesecake by the slice, etc… they just said those were either«seasonal» or no longer offered.

Cuppencake has this neat coffee shop/bakery feel that lets you look in as the bakers do their work through a glass window. My little girl loves it. She also loves the huge stuffed teddybear. The pastries are on point and if you have never had a suspiro, don’t miss out, try it. Personally, I like the mixed berry one. It’s soft texture and flavorful yogurt fruitiness will surprise you. It is really good. My experience with the coffee as of late has not been that great. 2 months ago it was good and lately it has not been. This is not only my sentiment by one shared by my other coffee snob friends. I can’t quite figure it out either because Brown Coffee, their local supplier, is a fantastic roaster. Apart from that though, it is spacious and fairly quiet, making it a great place to study

I love this place! I’m always on the lookout for cute coffee shops to study. Large baked goods selection and smaller selection of lunch items. I’ve yet to try any baked goods, but their cinnamon rolls are huge and are covered in frosting. I can’t wait to try one! I usually just get one type of drink(iced latte) so I can’t comment too much on the drinks. It appears they have similar gourmet coffee to local and rosella if you like theirs. Highly recommend!

FAVORITES: Mexican hot chocolate and Affogato The Affogato is so perfect for this time of the year(burnin hot Texas summers), with delicious vanilla bean ice cream. Heads up though, eat it fast because once the ice cream melts cold espresso is definitely not as good as hot. A little on the pricy side at $ 5. The Mexican hot chocolate has the perfect blend of spices, with prominent cinnamon flavors and chocolaty goodness. I wish it was a little cooler outside though so I could enjoy it more. I must admit I’ve only been here once but was blown away at the ambience and customer service. From the comically giant bear(a mascot for the coffee shop?) to the inside décor, this place is definitely Instagram worthy. They truly take care of their customers. I ordered the Affogato and scarfed down the ice cream pretty fast. My friend(who has no shame lol) asked for more ice cream and they kindly obliged for no additional cost! Only critique is that I wish they had more outlets for charging. They’re located around the back wall, but it would be nice if some of the tables in the center came with outlets attached. They do have fast free wifi connection though!

WHATTOGET: Latte, Affogato, Mexican Hot Chocolate Other Things I’ve Tried: Tres Leches Cake, Carrot Cake GENERALATMOSPHERE: This place is definitely one of the cutest coffeeshops in SA! There’s a giant teddy bear always in a different spot and great for the kids to pose with in photos. There’s a large outdoor seating with tables, chairs, and cushions, and plenty of tables indoors as well! So lots of place to sit, study, and chat! The décor is inviting and you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into it. There’s a large bright sign of COFFEE greeting you when you walk in and a large menu of the types of drinks they have on black chalkboard written in white chalk. There’s a big display of their pastries and cute signs hung around the shop. A very warm, friendly place. And although there are always plenty of people coming and going and families, the shop is never too loud. STUDYINGATMOSPHERE: There are plenty of tables indoors and a couple seating spots outdoors so plenty of spots to sit and study by yourself or with a group of friends. Even on weekends, since the shop is so big and there is a lot of turnover, you can always manage to find a seat. My only wish is that there would be more outlets for our computers! To get outlets you would need the find the seats next to the walls and there’s not many. The WiFi is also strong. COFFEE/FOOD: –LATTE: I don’t know if it’s just me, but their lattes seem on the smaller side compared to many of the shops I go to in SA. The vanilla syrup does not seem to come through all the way as well, so compared to other shops in SA, not the best place for me to get coffee but it’s still good enough and the caffeine is strong enough that still has me coming back to this place(not to mention the absolutely cute décor!) –AFFOGATO: My friend ordered this and I managed to get in a sip which instantly appeased my taste buds. It’s a wonderful option for a hot sunny Texas day — you get the delicious vanilla ice cream and the caffeine in one go! Also the service is incredibly friendly and refilled the vanilla ice cream without any charge! –MEXICANHOTCHOCOLATE: My other friend ordered this and loved it so I’ll be by to grab a cup once the weather turns a little chilly again. –TRESLECHESCAKE: It’s not the best tres leches cake I’ve had and I think it’s a little pricey. A good tres leches cake is light and has that delicious flavor of of the three types of milk coming through without being too soggy. This cake was on the heavier side for me unfortunately. –CARROTCAKE: However, I do think the carrot cake was pretty good. The cake was soft, moist, with a good ratio of carrot and the frosting was sweet and delicious. They do have other pasty selections and even a food menu as well! Their pastry selections include cake, cheesecake, cupcakes, muffins, conchas, and huge cinnamon rolls! NEXTTIME: I want to try their chai latte!

Started coming here about 2 months ago and I’ve come twice a week ever since. The lattes are incredible, my husband won’t drink chai tea from anywhere else now. And the carrot cuppencake is The yogurt was extremely tart, but I added some honey and it was heaven.

A late afternoon at the Point Park and Eats is what took us to this part of town and a craving for dessert is what brought us to this place, and man was it a fantastic treat. This is a largish modern place in the same building as the new Silo off I-10 and has a nice long coffee bar and a pastry case filled with a variety of edibles. What caught our eye was(a) the fact that they carry coffee from Brown and(b) the mango suspiro. The coffee delivered in spades with excellent flavor and the mango suspiro was the definite star of the day. This was a meringue based cake with a perfect chewy texture wonderfully complemented with crunchy nuts and a creamcheese top that provided a great tangy creamy contrast to the cake, all contrasted with the fresh mango! This was a dessert that was satisfying and a fantastic eat and is going to make us keep going back for more.

I came here several months ago, so the memory is not fresh in my mind but I will recall what I can. While I wasn’t overly impressed with the cupcake or the coffee I had, I was almost blind to that due to the flawless décor. Possibly the cutest coffee shop I have ever been to! This would make a great spot for an evening date. It’s not too quiet, but much quieter than a restaurant. The ambiance, at least in the evening, is very romantic. I would definitely give it a try, and I think I will need to try it again and see if they stepped up their cupcake game!

Café with impressive décor and style. They truly did a great job designing this café! I was excited from the moment I walked in the door but that excitement subsided within the first minute of standing at the register and getting blatantly ignored by the three staff members directly behind the espresso bar. One of the staff members had earphones in and clearly did not want to be interrupted. After a long awkward moment of standing there one of the girls finally asked«can I help you?» — anyway I ordered a lactose free latte and then stood there not sure if I am suppose to go find a seat or what. The gal rung me up flipped the I pad around and walked away. I didn’t even finish my transaction and she vanished and it wasn’t to make my coffee. The coffee took a long time to come out. My coffee was brought to me but my husbands was yelled out by the barista. Overall unimpressed with the lack of customer service, the staff was uninterested and appeared borderline annoyed to serve. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again, but I may try them again if I’m nearby and craving some baked goods or brew.

Cuppencake far and away the best coffee in town. I will drive over 15 miles from Midtown, passing dozens of Starbucks on the way just to have one heavenly drop of Cuppencakes coffee upon my tongue. This is not Starbucks. There aren’t multiple size options or sugar laden frappuccinos. The young women who own Cuppencake are coffee purists without being coffee snobs. The baristas know their stuff! I just asked barista Manny to surprise me, and he sure did! How can a simple mocha latte taste sooooo bloody good! It’s something about the way the coffee rolls about your mouth, coating it with the most delectable, rich, velvety goodness you have ever had the pleasure of consuming. I had the ultimate pleasure of going to a coffee cupping here. Let me tell you, I was floored how much I really learned about coffee and my coffee palate. The cupping was a very intimate affair, when available, I highly recommend it. They also have house made desserts that will make u punch your mama. Not too hard, because she is your mama, but definitely hard enough to catch her attention! I haven’t had a chance to have lunch here, but I will definitely be trying that in the near future. Btw, they have a large glass window to the kitchen, so you can watch the chefs work their magic. So I warn you, coming to Cuppencake will probably ruin the good coffee you«thought» you were drinking at other places because these are some serious coffee ninjas. So enjoy, and don’t say I didn’t warn you! FYI, Silo and and Adalcos are in the same shopping center. Might I suggest an after dinner/drinks pick-me-up at Cuppencake? It’s Cuppen awesome!

I’m obsessed now. I only wish I still lived in San Antonio so that I could come here on the regular. First, the staff, INCREDIBLE. So friendly, knowledgeable, willing to joke around with you. And they really care that you are enjoying your time. The other cool thing is you can see their bakery through a glass wall, so you can see the chefs making the treats in house. Second, the treats, there are so so so many treats. From Cheesecakes, to Cookies, to Cupckaes, Scones you name it they’ve got it. And they’re good. I got the pumpkin cheesecake and my friend got the chocolate hazelnut cheesecake. Both were rich and tasty. Thirdly, the atmosphere. Its a good size coffee shop with a lot of seating. I was glad to see that there was plenty of space and outlets and people studying. That’s essential that close to a University. Modern and Clean with a rustic flare to make it feel homey. They did a great job with the decorating. Forth and most important, the coffee. They sell VERVE! I was able to go to the home location of Verve in Santa Cruz where they roast the beans and fell in love with the coffee. It’s been a while since I’ve got to have any and was so so so happy to get to. My americano was perfect. This place is where it is at. San Antonio’s coffee shop market is getting good!

I’ve stumbled upon this place because I was trying to find a good study spot that wasn’t downtown and relatively near my house. It’s located in the plaza Dominion Ridge. I’ve never had a problem finding parking. It’s a decently-sized coffee and bakery shop with a whimsical and cute ambience. I love the cute«COFFEE» light up sign and the glass window where you can watch the bakery in action. If you come early enough on the weekends or during the weekdays, there’s a good number of open seats. They have an outside patio area with sofas and more tables. I’ve never tried their actual food items, but I’ve gotten their americanos and lattes before and also tried their cheesecake, which have all been above average. Sometimes, they provide dessert samples. I would compare their coffee and desserts with Whole Foods standards, which I am greatly satisfied with. The service is great. The baristas are very friendly and helpful. There’s often other students there working as well, so it’s a relatively quiet area, but I can’t say that for weekends. The downside is that there’s not many electricity plugs.

I came here to try their lunch this time because I received a coupon through my email. We tried The Hawaiian, caprese, and pasta salad. I definitely recommend The Hawaiian… bread was soft and the mix of pineapple and spicy mayo was good(went without the cream cheese but would have probably tasted even better with it). Pasta salad was also good… But I probably would not recommend the caprese. It was missing basil pesto and the bread was a little on the hard side for me. In general there are better caprese sandwiches elsewhere. We also had the usual affogato to go and service was great as always.

Let’s get to it! We drove out here to visit this spot and this spot only to try new things! Nice moderate selection of desserts. From small tarts to large cake portions. Color and sweetness pretty much sums it up. The cheesecake was not too thick and not too airy… very good. House coffee cup was average in taste, rather bitter. Not sure if it was poor selection on my part, bean quality or the grind size consistency of the drip. If you’re not sure what I mean by grind consistency then it doesn’t matter, buy their coffee as it will be delicious to you. I’m particular about my espresso and coffees so maybe I could be spoiled by previous experiences elsewhere. But give their coffee a try. Atmosphere is nice… inside and outside seating. Some tree coverage for hot days. Glass window separates the dining and kitchen area so you can see behind the scenes. I like the window since it shows how transparent the owners are in displaying how clean the facilities are. Scattered tables throughout and a limited amount of wall seating with power outlets. ***if you have a laptop or are looking for a place to nestle and need a power outlet, good luck to you. There is a very limited section of outlets and when we were there, the Internet was far below expectations. We saw a couple order coffee, sit and open their laptops, realize there were no outlets, fail to get internet… then watched them pack up and leave. We inquired about the Internet but were given a 3rd grade level response of… sorry, I don’t know. More customer service training? The shop is nice, counter service was engaging, the treats were good, pleasant seating. Poor internet, no outlets are a disappointment but maybe they want you to stay, but not for TOO long. Not really a place I’d go out of my way to visit, but if I’m in the area I’ll give the espresso a try and pick up one of their wonderful treats. See you for dessert.

I’ve been seeing this place pop up on people’s Facebook feed and after seeing some of the pictures I decided to check this place out. It’s located at the dominion which can be quite a drive, depending on where you live. Surprisingly the décor is really lovely on the inside and provides a really nice bright, comfy, and cozy atmosphere. The staff are pleasant as well. They have a few items to choose from including their homemade baked goods/treats. They also have some lunch items that I have yet to try. I had ordered a vanilla latte and their sea salt caramel cupcake. The vanilla latte was ok, I feel that Rosella’s and Local coffee’s vanilla latte are better. It is slightly more on the bitter side with a less vanilla taste. The cupcake was good, moist, and the frosting was light and delicious, but pricey for a cupcake; I think that’s standard in SA. I would recommend this place if you are in that area or near LaCantera and want to get away and relax at a nice coffee shop. I hope to return again and try some of their other treats.

All style, no substance. It’s a lot of style, but the product is underwhelming. Well-decorated open layout, chalkboard menus and unique lighting fixtures, and several seating options, along with patio space. But after you drink it in with your eyes, you eventually place an order. Coffee menu is detailed with drawings and cups to indicate sizes– opted for their take on a macchiato, more similar to an espresso and a bit more bitter than I’d like. Drinks seemed to take a while to come out, unclear if they are brewed to order or what but I was not particularly impressed. Pastry case is well stocked with fresh-baked goods. The kitchen has a window to watch the bakery action, too. Variety on my visit included several scones, muffin, cupcakes, and cake/pie slices, as well as some massive cinnamon rolls. But unfortunately, they simply weren’t that good. A PB&J cupcake was not sweet or moist, instead dry and crumbly more like a scone. The bacon and cheddar scone was very lightly flavored and underwhelming as well. It’s a nicely decorated and welcoming space, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to come here for their drinks or desserts. Limited soup/salad/sandwich menu available for light meals.

I stopped in here this morning before work at the nail shop next door. The atmosphere is very cute and inviting. The décor is nice and has a variety of seating. I ordered a scone, a muffin(which you can tell has bran or whole wheat in it), and an iced latte. $ 11. Not too bad in my opinion. I’m impressed that this place is privately owned. Looking around I expected it to be a chain or franchise. I asked, it isn’t. So I’m impressed that they built and entire concept out of this and really branded it well. Saying all that, I have some cons. Although the muffin was delicious, I think there should have been a better description. Actually, all of the items could come with a one sentence description. For this being a bakery/cupcake shop… I expected the bakery case to be larger and more expansive… and with more cupcake selection. Also, I think they would really benefit from a breakfast and lunch menu served all day. Just small easy things they can serve out of the kitchen. Egg sandwiches, bagels, lunch sandwiches, etc. It would make it an around the clock hang out. You order a breakfast with coffee and pick up a baked good for the road or to enjoy before you leave. Last but not least, where is all this teddy bear stuff coming from? This is clearly a place for adults but they sell stuffed teddy bears… part of what made me suspect it’s a chain.

Cüppencake’s lunch menu is only available from 11am-2pm. I came at 4:30pm, so I couldn’t get any real food. The décor and ambience are nice. I like the open space and plenty of outdoor seating. You can see the hills across the highway. If you’re coming here to study, the only 3 wall electrical outlets are next to 3 small tables. Since those tables are already taken, I’m sitting here until my laptop battery runs out. Nice chill place to study~ plenty of couches and tables inside and outside! I got a strawberry cupcake with buttercream frosting, macchiato in a little espresso cup, and a cup of iced sweetened hibiscus tea. I’m not a huge fan of buttercream frosting, but I could tell they used real strawberries and it was not diabetic sweet. It was a bit dry, but still tasty! I’m not a coffee expert, so I can’t comment on my macchiato. I wasn’t bothered by staff to clear my cup like the other reviews said. Happy! The tea was good! They’ll give you a tea sample if you ask! I’ll be back again to try lunch items and the affogato(mexican ice cream + double espresso)!
