A friend of mine recommended Cupcake Couture and I was very happy with our order. We were coming into San Antonio for my husbands 30th birthday and I wanted to have cake and cupcakes when our group arrived. Cupcake Couture worked with me over the phone to take my order. I loved the way the cake came out and it was very good! We will have to go back and try some of their other flavors next time we are in town.

The best cupcakes in town! They also have some amazing cake pops that I ordered for a birthday party. Also the custom cakes are so fancy looking and the fondant actually tastes good! Usually fondant tastes kind of crappy but theirs is tasty.

A really nice quiet clean place. Everything was great except the pistachio cupcake which was so freezer burned that I couldn’t taste the pistachio. Which was a disappointment because pistachio cupcakes are way better from other places & many peeps suggested I get pistachio. The eed velvet cupcake was kinda dry & the icing was a little too overwhelming. This bakery was one of the most priciest bakeries $ 16 for half a dozen cupcakes! Paying that much & not being fully satisfied is a bad feeling. But guys just beware the cupcakes in the fridge!

This place started out really great. However, the last few times I have gone I wasn’t completely satisfied. Sometimes the cup cakes taste old or the icing is wayyyy too overwhelming… Great flavors — but they certainly need to revisit recipes. Nonetheless, it’s a good place to stop in when the cravings roll around!

I wanted to get a dozen cupcakes to take to my son who is away at college. He was celebrating his b-day and I thought he and his friends would enjoy some cupcakes. I had visited the store in Helotes and fell in love with the red velvet and chocolate couture cupcakes. So a few days before I needed them, I called the store(Broadway) and asked to place an order. I was told that I didn’t need to place an order for«counter» cupcakes. I just need to come in and get them. I explained that I wanted an assortment of specific flavors(1 ½ dozen). Still, she said, I couldn’t place an order. I was worried that they would run out by the time I got there to pick them up. She suggested I call early on the day I wanted them and they would be put aside for me and be ready for pick up. So the morning of the day I needed them, I called the store and asked to have 18 cupcakes put aside. I gave the girl the breakdown of what I wanted. She said«No problem, I’ll put them aside and have them ready for you when you come by at 4:00 pm.» So I stopped by at 3:50 pm(on my way out of town to take the cupcakes to my son). Apparently, the girl I spoke to that morning had finished her shift and left. she did not set aside my cupcakes. I had to choose from whatever was left on the counter. Some of the ones left were sorry looking with lopsided icing and looking«not fresh». The girl at the counter said she could make some real quick. She did make me about 6 but they were basic. No embellishments, such as the peanut butter cup, the strawberry, or the pink icing ribbon on the chocolate couture, etc. In addition, she was very messy in handling them and placing them in the box. There were frosting smudges on the 3 boxes she put them in. The presentation was definitely an «F». I paid approx $ 50 for 18 cupcakes. While the chocolate couture and red velvet are still my favorites, I would have to say it was not worth it. They are not all that great. I could have made better tasting, neater looking cupcakes at home with $ 50.

Overall great flavor. Offer interesting flavors season and the sweet 16 they always carry are good. Pretty decorations. Negative… Rather pricey

This adorable shop lured me in with the promise of tasty treats, but in actuality my taste buds were let down. The icing was hard and waaay too sweet.(Which is odd, because I love anything super sugary… usually.) The cake, for me, was plain and just alright. Maybe I caught them on a bad day??? I’ll probably give this place another try one of these days.

These cupcakes look so darn good. I think that’s all they are good looking. I went here for the first time and never again. It taste just like they came out of a box. I wouldn’t pay 17 $ for ½ a dozen cupcakes at this place. wont be coming back. Looks are all they have going for them.

This place is my number 1 in San Antonio. Everything I’ve tried from here has been amazing. My favorite is their cookies and cream cupcake. TODIEFOR. From my past 3 – 4 year of experience with them, their cakes have always been moist and the frosting always on point. The employees have always been friendly and helpful as well.

If I want to make somebody happy on a special occasion I know exactly what to do– A box full of assorted cupcakes from this place! I just wish they had more locations. But I don’t mind driving to get this tasty, yummy treats. Suggestion– wish you open a location by 1604! I will be super happy if you do!

This cupcake place deserves the awards the get for sure! A friend and I ordered half a dozen cupcakes(yes, to eat in one sitting), and ended up getting what we called a «road cupcake» at the checkout counter. They had a pistachio cupcake! I devoured it before I even made it the 10 feet to my car! The cupcake was moist, and practically melted in my mouth. The pistachio frosting was almost pudding-like, so it had just the right amount of sweetness. Such a great cupcake shop!

Great selection, though sometimes they’re out if my favorite peanut butter and chocolate. We take our girls here for a special treat and let them choose their own cupcakes. They’re always moist, not too rich, and worth the $. The service is great too. It’s one of our favorite places to go for a treat in SA. They also do specialty cakes.

How can cupcakes that look so good taste so meh? Maybe I am being hyper picky, but I have not been impressed by any of the cupcakes here ever. The cakes themselves are a bit too fluffy for me in the sense that they don’t have the right texture. When you bite into one or take a chunk with a fork, there is a bounciness to this that just smacks of dough conditioners. Yes they have to try and keep the cupcakes«fresh» I guess, but it was not appealing at all. The icing was again too sweet for me and definitely made of margarine without a hint of any butter anywhere close to it. Not too cool for a place with couture in its name. Yes they never tell you that they use butter, but they do talk up a good talk about using the best ingredients etc. which a casual eater can take to mean butter and healthy oils local eggs etc .etc. One thing they do have going for them is that they do have serious decorating chops. These cupcakes look fabulous… too bad they don’t taste like they look.

I liked the cupcakes here, especially the refrigerated ones with filling in the middle. The server was very nice and even have me a free cupcake. They also have a few frosted cookies which are also pretty good

Very tasty cupcakes. Super rich though, I got more energy from one cupcake with half the icing than I did from two cups of coffee! The cupcakes are beautiful though and have a very creative and delicious array of flavors: from piña colada to chocolate funfetti to red velvet. I got a Cookies ‘n Cream and hubby got a Chocolate Peanut Butter. For $ 2.99 a cupcake, it’s a nice experience and something different.

My husband and I tried this place out because people praise so much about it. Unfortunatly, I wasn’t impressed with their cupcakes. Their icing tasted like a greaseball with very little flavor… and the cupcakes tasted like box cupcakes. My homemade cupcakes taste way better than this.

What’s not to love about this place? Creative flavors, pretty presentation and fresh cupcakes! Pick one or a combination of any of the tasty flavors that change daily. Today I tried Chocolate Peanut Butter, wow! Also good is the way they box them so they don’t get all smashed up on the ride home-if you can wait that long. It’s pretty small inside, so in my opinion, this is a get it to go kinda place.

During my road trip, my husband and I stopped in San Antonio. After lunch on the Riverwalk, I wanted dessert. Originially I was craving FROYO but this cupcake store happened to be next door, and instead walked in. An average cupcake price is about $ 3. I asked the girl inside what her most popular cupcake was and ordered that. I don’t remember the name but it was a dark chocolate cake with a custard thingy inside topped with buttercream frosting. They have several different flavors that looked really good. In the fridge they also had mini cheesecakes. Their presentation was excellent. The cake was a little drier than I would have liked. The frosting was good too, but I’m not a frosting person — so take comment with a grain of salt. They didn’t have forks or utensils available which was annoying because I like to cut my cupcakes. This store isn’t the main one and they don’t bake at this store either. They have a separate place where they bake.

I finally decided to try out Cupcake Couture after years of walking by it on my way to Jimmy Johns. What a cute store! I love the pink and all the cupcake decorations(not just the edible ones). You get a lot of cupcake for your $ 2.50. With cupcakes, I like to be able to pick it up, lick off the frosting then eat the cake. It was impossible to do this with one hand. The frosting was very rich and almost slide off the cupcake. Maybe if they were refrigerated this would have prevented the sliding frosting. I also wonder if it is butter cream or cream cheese frosting shouldn’t that be refrigerated to begin with? I will say I wanted a cupcake, it was convenient so it made me happy.
