UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT Just went in to pick up some cupcakes for my office staff. No one had anything good to say about these cupcakes. They were dry and fell apart when we bit into them. Icing wasn’t even sweet. It just taste oily. No flavor at all.

My GPS took me to some senior center instead of Choco Patisserie. I called their number and Lauren directed me. So as you are coming down Nacogdoches Rd, look for RTPPLAZA by Bush’s Chicken. The plaza also houses Delicious Tamales and a laundormat. See my picture in Tips for reference. Now on to the good stuff… the CUPCAKES! Their cupcakes are some of the best I’ve ever had. Extremely moist cake. Rich, creamy icing. Not too sweet. Wouldn’t expect anything less from two accomplished pastry chefs. I’m in love! I can’t wait to try ALL the flavors. Daily offerings: Vanilla, Chocolate, Red Velvet, Carrot and Gluten Free Vegan Chocolate. Tues additions: Strawberry Meringue, Death by Chocolate, Banana Cream Weds additions: Fruit Tart, Peanut Butter Cup, German Chocolate, Strawberry Thurs additions: Maple Bacon, Boston Cream, Pistachio, Key Lime Fri aditions: Italian Cream, Pineapple, Snickers, S’more Saturday special: Kolaches If cupcakes aren’t your thing though, Lynn and Lauren also offer Cookies: Wedding Cookies, Bourbon Pecan, and Chocolate Chip. They also have Banana Bread, Pound Cake, Focaccia, Brownies, Scones and Muffins. Swing on by! Try a few items. You’ll fall in love too.

Italian cream cupcakes, amazing! the pineapple and carrot are absolute heaven! But these were a delicate sweet with rich buttery taste and soft velvet texture! Absolutely delicious and I can’t get enough. Too bad I didn’t find this place for my wedding!

I just got cupcakes here for my boyfriends birthday this past weekend. I will definitely be going back. This is family owned and the owners make the cupcakes and work the counter. They are so friendly! Now the cupcakes are superb. They were a hit at the party. Very light and moist with unique flavor profiles. I had a banana cream and a carmalized peach one both were to die for. The maple bacon was also popular. On Saturdays they have kolaches which I didn’t get to try but heard great things about — they smelled great and I almost ate them before I got home. Can’t wait to go back. Keep up the great work! The only thing is I missed the location on my first time and had to turn around — it’s in a little strip center so keep your eyes open for it.

I saw this place on Cupcake Wars… I went right after that and they were yummy. I know my review is incredibly late… but better late than never right? I bought an assortment of cupcakes to take to work for my late night coworkers. They were beautiful cupcakes, nicely packed until some troll cut me off and I hit the brakes and the cupcakes ended up in the floorboard… but they still tasted amazing. Banana pudding with real Nilla wafers… red velvet and something else I can’t recall. Their shop isn’t in the best shopping center, crammed between a tamale shop and a laundry mat with a tattoo shop and cleaners to pull up the rear they are easily missed but you have to try this place!

I’m new to the NE side and originally from the SE side where we have more Panaderias than McDonald’s lol! Anyway being deprived from sweets from a while I decided to google and Unilocal some local bakeries around my area and came across this one and noticed they were on the infamous Food Network! Went in yesterday around 3ish with my cousin and was greeted so warmly! We looked in the display case and everything was gone! Except for one red velvet, a few carrot cake, and a couple vanilla cupcakes! The owner? apologized, for the limited selection cause everyone beat us to it! Haha and proceeded to tell us what flavors they were in detail! So we for our 3 cupcakes(bought one for my dad to surprise him!) and chatted a few with the owner and he gave us two free snicker doodle cookies! Which were soooooooo delicious!!! :) it was a nice sweet gesture and unexpected! All in all the cupcakes were so delicious!!! And my dad who’s the average joe(literally) thought the cupcake was delicious and he wanted more! Haha. Will be returning, but at a earlier time ! Thanks for the free cookies!

Let’s be clear, I’m not a Cupcake person since I’m a guy, we eat meat not cupcakes., so I’m doing this review for the cupcakes I bought for a dinner party last night. Here are the guest reviews: — Yummy! — You didn’t tell me you brought Valves Cupcake! — I only want half, but I will eat the whole thing. I think there are about another 8 or 9 yummies and this is great cupcake comments. So the review is a 5 star, I think this will be my place to buy cupcakes for people then.

A scratch bakery!!! If you want something warmed up from a frozen box than go somewhere else, because Lynn takes flour, eggs, milk, water, butter, and sugar to make really good stuff, without all those chemical preservatives that we all know and love. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.

I’ve been on a lookout for local bakeries in town and I happened to stumble on CP. The real standout at this bakery is their carrot cupcake. I tasted almost every cupcake they had to offer that day and carrot was by far the best ! I was kinda disappointed that they didn’t have kolache’s that day but they said they don’t get enough traffic during the week to make them everyday which explained the half empty cupcake displays. Overall this place was good and I do want to come back to taste more.

These cupcakes are delicious! Wow! They have a light, airiness to both the cake itself and the frosting. They are flavorful — very savory and have a homemade feel to them — and literally melt in your mouth… They are a refreshing change to the usual thick buttercream frosting on top of a thick cake I keep tasting at most places I’ve been to lately… Oh yea, not to mention he gave me a free sample of a Mexican wedding cookie… Which is also a melt in your mouth cookie. Yum! Will definitely be returning!

I saw the owners of this place on Cupcake Wars, so being the cupcake fan that I am I thought I would give Choco Patisserie a try. My first impression of Choco Patisserie was that the place was not posh or hip. Its not in one of the fanciest shopping centers in San Antonio. But, I don’t care about those things anyway. I’m not into fancy store fronts, and glass lighted walls with water in them, and furniture that won’t hold a big like me. This place means business, and the kitchen was no joke; professional grade all the way. The cupcakes and cookies in the display case looked very good, but looks are only one part of the judging criteria taste is more important. Lynn Townsend(as seen Cupcake Wars) was behind the counter telling us all about the flavors of the cupcakes and cookies. He gave us a sample of bourbon pecan cookies; which were very good. It was the first time I had ever tasted cookies like that. So, we bought some at $ 1.25 for three bite size cookies; not too bad. We also pick up some smores and chocolate cupcakes at $ 2 each. Yes I said $ 2 each $ 2 each…$ 2 each. BTW did I tell I paid $ 2 each for cupcakes. The chocolate was pretty good the cake was moist, and tasty what you expect from a cupcakery. But, my favorite was the smores cupcake. It had a shot of chocolate in it which was a real surprise for me; being that I’m a big chocolate fan. Overall I thought Choco Patisserie was a good place for a sweet stop. I know I will hit this place often. Its near me, and has a lot to offer. I give Choco Patisserie 4 stars, but I know I will upgrade to 5 after trying other cupcake flavors they have to offer. So, give Choco Patisserie a try Its the best $ 2 I’ve have ever spent.
