I have been coming to Chicago Bar since attending UTSA and I have seen the change and growth this bar has came to. It has definitely changed a lot in a good way. I love the atmosphere and the selection of music the DJ plays. Another reason why I like this bar is how cheap the drinks are. $ 2.50 Bud Light can’t go wrong with that. Shout out to the bartender that always looks out for the customers all the time. Friday’s and Saturdays are usually good so try and get there early because it does get pretty crowded.

Fridays and Saturday nights Chicago bar is the better choice for young professionals. They have a live DJ playing some of the best music plus the bartenders serve you with speedy lightning service drama free drug-free and the dress attire is laid-back but no one is slacking on their pimpin.

Very nice set up. Games and couches. Good for a get together. Bartenders are a little shady, one night you pay 30 the next you pay 75 and drank the same amount both times lol. If your attractive girl and willing to take your top off you can drink for free 24⁄7

No offense to anyone but the dj needs to update his music… The throwbacks are okay but not the entire night

This last trip I made to this bar was the first one since a couple of years ago. Man what a difference and not in a good way ;-/I felt like I was walking into a giant strobe light. There were random works of art everywhere. I know the city of chicago is known to an artistic city but that was just dumb. It had no sense of the city itself anywhere! The music was a little too loud and obnoxious. The bartender was actually very nice. But I honestly would not go back again sorry.

Well, what I like about this place — The art on the wall is a trip — The couches and sofa are great, although I wish they turn down the music a bit since it is hard to have a conversation when you are sitting across the table. — Drinks prices are awesome In my opinion, this is the place to have a drink with few friends, watch sports on TV, I rather take my date to New York bar where you can have more intimate talks. The couches here are great, but you have to yell over the table when the music is all the way up.

Ok what kind of self respecting drinking establishment does not have angrosta bitters and not know what or how to make and old fashion. 2.00 whiskey drinks got a whiskey sour and it was basically all sour mix. Just get beer here.

Nothing is more irritating than a bartender that doesn’t know what they’re selling. When asked what kind of beer they had the response I got was: «I don’t know, there’s the beer cooler, you look.» really now?!? The door guy was a total douche and was making rude remarks about how he would love to kick my(a woman) tree hugger ass. Too bad the staff were completely rude, the ambiance was pretty cozy with the leather couches and whatnot, but not cozy enough to make up for the staff.

The early bartender, Angela, seems to like to overcharge unsuspecting regular patrons, then ignores you when asked to explain charges. After repeated requests for the charges to be corrected she let another bartender take over the argument for her. Finally she provided a partial refund and refused to give the rest and disappeared. How unbelievably disrespectful can an establishment be to it’s patrons? This wasn’t an isolated incident this night either, 2 other friends of mine were over charged as well, and another has had it happen to him there before. Pay in cash as you go! I WISH I COULDGIVE A NEGATIVEREVIEWINSTARS!

Ack. Cheap drinks don’t make up for the lack of quality in this bar. This place is dodgy, people are awkwardly placed around the bar in clumps or in clumps around the few seating areas available. Most people who frequent this bar seem to come in for a few cheap drinks before heading out to a better bar in the area, and you should be wary of anyone who doesn’t follow the same suit because this place has a way of attracting creepers.

I apparently was not drunk enough to have fun at this place. Last night I went to Chicago Bar for the second time in my life. San Antonio does not have much in the way of awesome bar scenes, but as long as I have dance music, strong drinks, and good friends– I’m generally happy. So last night Chicago Bar failed to satisfy those requirements. I was excited to see that they had $ 1.50 vodka drinks, until I tasted my vodka sprite, which was basically just watered-down Sprite. Shoulda known it was too good to be true. As for the music… we walked in to SILENCE. This is a BAR, people. You need loud hip-hop/dance music. Thankfully, there is an electronic jukebox sitting by the window, so you get to pay for your own music. Fantastic. We spent 3 dollars buying songs to entertain all of the bar patrons, but most people were not as generous, so more silence ensued. What an awful idea. The bar was also smoky. And it was in a strip mall. After downing our $ 1.50 sprites, we bolted in search of 4lokos. Oh well, it was still better than Buddharok.

I literally walked in, took 3 steps and walked out. The entire place was hazy with smoke. Imagine a phone booth filled with cigarette smoke, and that about sums up Chicago bar. I heard there was dirt cheap drink specials but I didn’t feel like sacrificing my lungs to save a few bucks. Terrible. Awful.

Somewhere between common sense and frugality lies the Chicago Bar. I should have known from the filthy tables riddled with empties and the overflowing ashtrays left behind by the sparse 9 o’clock crowd that things in this dump were only bound to get worse. I was correct. Not long after we found a seat upon one of the many wobbly loungers reeking of regret and unfulfilled dreams did the hip hop dancing granny standing at the bar begin her assault on our poorly prepared retinas. Oh the humanity! My cousin, whose idea it was to come here, tried to smooth things over with the fact that they had $ 1.50 Crown. That’s just what a night of sensible adult sociability calls for. Desperately searching for a loaded gun in the morning to dispel the headache. I wish I could say more positive things about the Chicago bar but it seems to me that these collectively owned, big city themed bars(Chicago, New York, Boston, Las Vegas) owe nothing more to the local landscape than pawning off cheap booze in high rent districts by somebody whose life seems to mirror that of the professionally bound collegiate athlete. An assload of money and no class.

(Visited on St. Patrick’s Day) Décor/setup was ok with cheap drink specials-didn’t really enjoy the crowd although it was probably due to the fact that we had rounds of Drunk Buses unloading the«let’s pardy hardy bro/omigah» college kids coming through at the typical 20 min rotation. Will try this place again on a non holiday…

Decent bar, not a place I would visit all the time. Typical stone oak crowd. Cheap strong drinks. Parking is terrible so don’t bother showing up after 12. Also, the smoke is a real problem hear like most bars in San Antonio. Also if it get real crowded it’s a bit of a pain because of all the over sized tacky furniture inside. Makes you feel like your visiting a furniture store instead of a bar.

All i Have to say about this place is I got a round of drinks to include(2 crowns, a beer, and some other cocktail) to cost $ 6.5 It’s like WOAH!!! I might have to say that might be cheaper then buying just regular pop!!! ha ha still smiling about it!!! THe atmosphere itself is well interesting. One of the«brightest» bar I’ve been to. And by bright… just lit up so there is no subtly hiding your inperfections. Hmm I wonder if that is the reason why a round of 4 is… the price it is. A quite a different approach to make people talk to each other. Music??? well different… in that it’s an interesting mix of heavy metal, rock, hip hop, alternative… Do people in chicago enjoy bars like this??? Well over all I enjoyed it b/c the whole $ 6.5 :)

Fun place to go out to. My girlfriends and I like to come here because we don’t encounter those guys. You know, THOSE guys with the shirts way unbuttoned and a lot of hair gel. Great atmosphere with comfy couches and lighting that looks flattering on everyone. Sometimes it can be difficult to get drinks, but that’s just how it can be at a crowded bar. They do have drink specials, so that’s a good thing that I really appreciate(it seems like a lot of bars in the Stone Oak area can be more pricey). I have some great pictures here that bring back some fun memories. Will be back.
