Need to say Thanks to Cheddars on I10 in San Antonio, TX Took out family there for a dinner for our grand sons graduation his choice,
any way I happen to tell the waiter we were there for his graduation she happened to graduate from the same high school we had our dinner it was great everyone was satisfied when the manager comes out to talk to the graduate what a surprise his name was Matt he brings out two free dinner cards and a free chip and dip card and tells our grandson how important it will be for him to continue his education and how to have a good attitude when working it was the best talk I was very impressed with him and his sincerity when talking to our grandson very unexpected, Thanks as million Matt and Cheddars.

Love cheddars go to place for great drinks that are reasonably priced, yummy food and awesome service. Love their sangria swirl margarita, opt for adding beef into the chips n queso app… And my fav dish is the baby back ribs fall off the bone and seasoned to perfection.

It depends on what you get here. My husband got a chicken pot pie, which he said tasted bland and as though it had been microwaved, so not good. How nice would it be if they included additional gravy and maybe some homemade cranberry sauce? He was disappointed.
However, I got a half rack of baby backs and salad with blue cheese dressing, the croissant roll (order the plain and bring your own butter if you don’t like all that sugar). I will say that the «loaded baked potato,» which is a baked potato with butter and sour cream, is NOT loaded. I expect also to have bacon and chives or chopped green onions! Sadly, no. The baby backs are awesome, as is the sauce. The service was good but not great. They seemed not to know whose table we were supposed to belong to and, in the end, we had to flag someone (anyone!) down to get more iced tea, more BBQ sauce, more blue cheese dressing, etc. We went for lunch and maybe they were just too busy; although, there were plenty of tables available.

On 5÷16÷16, 7 for lunch. Excellent. Everyone found something they liked. Mine was Chicken Fried Chicken steak, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and the very best green beans I have ever had. My aunt knew about the beans and ordered double… smart lady. Only down side, my cousin ordered a beer which was never delivered. Seemed like the waiter forgot about it while he had his own lunch. Mistakes happen. Will go back again. Yum.

The food is good, I mean it’s like any chain restaurant at least from what I’ve ordered. The sides are all pretty good. I’ve been around 4 times now and the service has never been great. Would go back, but it’s not my first choice.

The host was so organized and ontop of seating, it was amazing watching her work.
Our food was AMAZING, chicken tenders were crispy and so flavorful.
My gf’s chicken fried chicken was fried PERFECTLY and was CRAZY GOOD.
Our waiter Nicholas was and efficient.
Our experience was perfect, we werent expecting that. Good job Cheddars.

I went in on Sunday evening and graduation weekend with low expectation that I would actually stay and wait for a table but gave it a shot because I had a huge craving for cheddars (hadn’t been in over two years).
I walked in and the place was super packed BUT that didn’t stop the host/​coordinator from being super friendly, kind and organized! She assured me the wait wouldn’t be long –No more than 15 minutes later we were seated and proceeded to enjoy amazing food and an awesome dining experience!
I really wanted to make sure to leave a review because I have no idea how this restaurant had 3 stars, it most definitely deserves 5!

Still love this place my favorite dish will always be the rib eye. And the painkiller! The service has never been bad even when I didn’t like something they would fix it quick! Another thing I do like is there spinach dip which is a must try! Y’all should try them out !

Whenever my friends and I go out this is our go to places. The staff is very kind and you can’t beat the prices of the drinks!!!

This place has gone downhill over the last few years. Service is increasingly slow — like 15 minutes after seating before a server comes to your table. Another 15 minutes before drinks get to the table. They seem to have enough staff, but they seem unorganized. They have also gotten the food order wrong for my wife, leaving me the choice of eating alone while the food is still warm, or letting my food get cold waiting for them to bring her correct order out. The place just feels unorganized.

The service at this restaurant is the worst I have experienced in my whole life. While calling to place a take out order I would be put «on hold» for 10 minutes before I would give up, hang up, and call back. On my fourth attempt I was told that they knew I was calling over and over again and to give my order. I did and was told to wait 20 minutes. 25 minutes later I entered and when I asked for my order I was told that I never placed it. I showed them when I called, and it was the right number. They went ahead and took my order then. After waiting they came back with my food and said «see, pretty fast huh!» Proud with themselves. I was offered no sort of discount or anything, and I was speaking with the manager! The food was ok but not worth the horrendous service I experienced. If I could give this establishment less than 1 star, I would.

Ordered food as was needing to eat just released from hospital.
Grilled salmon, mash potatoes & macaroni.
Confirmed dinner size.
Side portions smaller. Assuming due to container size.
The Mac was great & fresh.
Potatoes great. No gravy. Not sure why no gravy.
Fish not fresh & lacked seasoning. Definitely not eating there again.

Yes Cheddar’s is a chain restaurant but I’m not going to pretend that it’s not good because it is good. The menu has a lot of variety to it and I’ve tried almost every item listed and all have been home runs. Service is decent I would say 90% great which is about an A– or B+. I either dine at Cheddar’s with my boyfriend or family so it’s usually 2 people to 4 people so I never wait that long for a table. Sweet tea is always sweet and their strawberry lemonade is awesome with cute real strawberries in the drink. Alcoholic beverages are also a hit and everything comes out in a timely manner when ordering, depending on how packed the place is. Reasonable prices throughout the menu and I’m left satisfied with my visit. Start with either the flaky sweet croissants or the savory spinach dip… heck start with both because they are addicting!

I suggest trying that chicken tortilla soup and the Philly cheese steak sandwich it was amazing. The wait staff was extremely helpful and the manager even came over and spoke with us since we had a reservation which was really nice of him. If I’m ever in San Antonio again I’m definitely going to hit the spot up again.

Glorified Applebees/Chili’s. On the plus side the drinks and food are cheap. On the downside the drinks and food taste cheap. It will be the one and only trip to a Cheddar’s. I am sure people like it and I may have like it in my young 20’s; but it is not a place for a foodie.

Stop frequenting Chili’s and come here!
Whether it is for a date night, casual lunch, evening with friends, this is a great place to consider. They are opened until 11 p.m. and have a comfortable atmosphere. The dim lighting with comfortable and spacious booth chairs make the dining experience relaxing.
The mixed drinks are a must! They are very reasonably priced, and are packed with booze and flavor. May I recommend a Strawberry Margarita or their famous Pain Killer? You will not be disappointed!
Cheddar’s offers a variety of American food from steaks, chicken, soups, salads, fish, etc. They also offer appetizers and scrumptious desserts. The quality of the food is always fresh and has consistent good taste. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable!

My sister and I stopped for lunch at the Cheddar’s Northwest San Antonio location and enjoyed our meal and drinks tremendously, but the best thing that came from the visit was being treated to wonderful service from the chefs. My brother-​in-​law must be on a low-​to-​no-​sodium diet which makes ordering take out a real challenge. Most restaurants have no concern for those on special diets, so my sister was not expecting much when she asked for an entrée to be as close to unsalted as possible. To her surprise, the chef came out of the kitchen to discuss options with her. He put together a delicious dish that was fresh and practically salt-​free. We will be going back often and recommending Cheddar’s to everyone we know. More restaurants would stay in business if they would practice this kind of customer service.

Will never be back after the disaster of an evening here with family and friends. We had a group of 9 on a Friday night. I get that it’s busy and that it’s a large group but what would soon unfold to be something out of a bad movie scene is no excuse at all.
We arrive at 6:00 wait an hour and 30 minutes to be seated at a table that we can’t all fit in. They make a huge ordeal out of moving another table and we actually have to put the tables together ourselves and solve the problem.
Next our drink orders are taken promptly and that’s the only promptness we experienced all night. It took our waitress 30 minutes to come back for our food order and then what happens next still gets my blood boiling. Our food starts coming out one at a time about an hour after we place our order, yes I said an hour! We asked repeatedly when our food would be out and they said the famous line: «it’ll be right out». So here comes the first freezing cold plate, note I said plate. Our food trickles in 1 plate at a time about 10 – 15 minutes apart from each other, each plate more cold than the next and missing sides. We tell them to bring us some hot food and get no response so finally we’ve had it and one of us actually goes to the kitchen and talks to the manager and chef. They explain that our food got «forgotten and that’s why it was coming out cold. It sat out for an hour on the line!!! They bring half of us our hot food which was good but we couldn’t all eat together and only half of us enjoyed it. By this time it was already 9:30! We had been here for 3 ½ hours.
The straw that broke the camels back was how long it took to get the check. We asked for a manger and they assured us that they would only be charging us for our beverages and not the food because of how horrible everything turned out.
The check process took another 45 minutes and she kept bringing it out with the food being charged to us. Apparently the manager hadn’t communicated to her not to charge us for food! And he was suddenly in a meeting and couldn’t confirm with her. After a 3^rd time of presenting us with an incorrect check we tallied up how much our 9 drinks were which came out to about $ 35 and change. We left $ 40 and walked out. To make matters worse we were followed out to the parking lot by the asst. manager and our waitress all angry because we didn’t pay what was on the ticket. They calmed down when we explained the whole night and what the manager had said for a 3^rd time as if they hadn’t been there all night and knew what was happening. We never once got an apology or a decent explanation. We were given attitude the whole night and we will never be back to this location!

Incredibly disappointing. We went on Christmas Eve and it was a disaster. It was not crowded and we were placed into a section with no waiter or waitress. Service was atrocious. Nobody would ever check on us and we had younger kids with us. The chicken was as dry as it gets and the rice was literally floating in some shrimp juice. Couldn’t even eat it. I was very happy to leave and will never go back to that horrible place.

I just had a bad experience with the Cheddar’s on 410 12/​16/​2015. I decided to contact this Cheddar’s to complain to the General Manager who was off. I spoke to Val, she was very nice and apologized 10 times over for my bad experience the day before. I decided to take Val upon her invite to visit her restaurant near fiesta Texas and The Rim. I got there and was greeted with a smile. Even though it was quite busy at noon we still was seated right away. With the place being so busy we got our food in a respectable amount of time, the Restaurant was so relaxing and the wait staff was AWESOME. My waitress can’t remember her name SORRY, but you are the best never missed a beat. Val is this young beautiful Manager who is just awesome, and let’s not leave out Chef Robert who came out to apologize for my bad experience at the 410 location. Chef Robert you are superb, the food was well excused fresh and hot. If I was able to ADD another 5 Star’s too the 5 I’ve given I would. People if you want the best wait staff and Management in all of San Antonio Texas visit Cheddar’s at 15 607 interstate 10.

Wow! Great environment, great foo, GREAT PRICES! Although it was busy tonight, we were sat quickly, and served quickly.
I had the house salad as an appetizer with a little croissant. The croissant LITERALLY melted in my mouth. Then they brought the soup and sandwich combo. So delicious, will be back again.

The steak and combination plate is really good! Ribs have a tangy bbq sauce which I prefer a sweet sauce but still good. Good service.

I’ve been to this location several times and I have to say I’m quite pleased. I love the prices on the food, I usually order the sirloin steak with loaded baked potato and green beans with a side salad and Coke all for about $ 13! It has become my regular that I order. I always ask for my steak medium or well done. The salad is very delicious and it comes with a honey croissant. It is very good. Service could do better. They take awhile to take your order, bring your food and check on your table. This place can get very very busy on weekends. Last time we came we waited about 10 – 15 minutes for a table. Try and get there early as you can. But compare it to the 410 location I’d say this location is better. I plan on coming back.

Dined on 11÷4÷2015. Food was overall ok but the nachos were miss because of the old chips… My daughter’s burger was returned three times and still brought out wrong and the waitress was completely clueless… I was very disappointed and contacted Cheddar’s through mail and through their website: still waiting a response… probably will not return.

Nothing special here, If you’re a fan of big chain restaurants this is it! If you’re familiar with Applebees, Red Lobster, TGI Fridays, Olive Garden etc. you have already been to this restaurant. The food was not particularly amazing for the hour + wait. The service was great and I loved how the waitress was attentive to our large group of 10! One thing that I thought would of help is starters like salad or garlic bread. Conclusion; if you want to play it safe go to this place. But if you’re looking for a culinary adventure that’ll stimulate your palate you will be disappointed.

Terrible service every time we go. Food is cold and manager is rude. The staff is usually too busy talking to each other to be bothered to check on their guests. The location on 410 is much better.

The employees were very professional, food was good. Only thing is this place is freezing.

First time and last. Please check your draft beer. Weird things inside. Service was slow. Shrimp overcooked.

So I have a mix of stars. For food I give them a 3. I ordered the buffalo chicken wraps (which are my fave) but be chicken was cold. My fries were extra hot so why couldn’t my chicken be the same??? I also had to get them to remake my margarita because the first time all it was just ice and flavoring and no alcohol at all. Even the color of the margarita was weird, seemed more like a watered down lemonade. The second time around was better.
As for the server, he kept taking his time to get everything coming to our table. We ordered waters to begin while out drinks got made, drinks made it to the table first then water came AFTER we ordered our appetizer and that got here first too. Also, he gave free drinks to the table next to us just because. He even sat down with the client at the table and had a conversation with him as we were waiting for our drinks/​food and it was a pretty lengthy conversations. He only had 4 tables total to serve and on a Monday night it’s really not busy. Two other tables that either got their the same time or a bit after us got their food and drinks before we did. We had a simple order so it’s not like we have him an over dramatic request.
After I had my dinner, I went to wash my hands and I caught our server taking and joking with the bar tenders and had our check in his hands, which we were waiting for for he past 10+mins. Of course when he brought it to the table he came and took our payment ASAP. He was nice over all but service was way slow. Cheddars employees really need to stay on top of the customers so they can’t go around complaining they don’t get good tips especially when they can’t help us when we need them.

Is too loud and too cold inside fault of the restaurant? Depends how you feel about it. It is for us. Food was good but they didnt cook steak right for my husband and my son’s grill cheese was burned. I had philli cheesesteak and it wasnt anything special. I loved peach tea.

Last night my roommate and I went to get dinner and drinks after crappy work days. We had an AMAZING experience with our server Joseph Ve. He promptly brought out our water and gave us plenty of time to review the drink menu. Both our drinks and the food came out surprisingly fast and absolutely delicious. I ordered the dijon chicken and mushrooms with mashed potatoes and Texas green beans. Yum! Joseph was attentive but not overbearing and gave us time to hang out and talk after we were done eating. I was impressed at the way he waited until we asked for our check instead of chucking it at us as soon as the last bite is swallowed, the way most servers usually do. Happy to say our day ended on a high note. Great service. Definitely coming back, thanks Joseph!

Food was delicious as always.
The hostess in the front was too busy talking to her coworkers and didn’t acknowledge us.
Then after I recieved my food– i was left with a dry mouth because I didn’t get my drink refilled at all!

Received a call today from Robert, the culinary manager who apologized profusely. He was mortified at my experience (below) and invited my family to come in so he can make it up to me. I’m glad that the customer service was turned around after all. I will definitely give Cheddar’s another chance. :)

Food was fresh & cooked to a decadent delight and drinks were refreshing not 2 strong nor weak just right. As for the delivery on timing during off peak lunch hrs a bit slow, but pleasant service made up for slow serving time.

Awful.
We came us a group with 14 people and I completely understand the difficulty of large orders on a busy Sunday afternoon, but our service was despicable!
FOOD:
Everyone were having a good time, but 2 of the steaks weren’t cooked as requested. Then, a salad order LITERALLY had a broken off piece of plastic in it!

4 people have really bad stomach aches. It’s a franchise. How badly can you mess up on food with «dumbed-​down» and fool proof written instructions?
SERVICE:
The chef was courteous enough to personally explained the incident and apologized. As for compensation, he took off the salad from the bill and offered only 3 slices of cake to 14 people… which never came fyi. To me, that’s pretty stingy. On the way out, our server continuously rolled her eyes and started talking about our table to the other nearby staff like we were at fault. Hope you liked our tip btw! You deserved it.
SUMMARY:
If you don’t want to get out money’s worth/​asking for a bad stomach ache/​pieces of inedible materials in your meal, go for it!
P. S. It comes with a side of rude servers and cheap managers.

My latest visit to Cheddar’s Casual Café was quite possibly the worst dining experience I’ve had in years. For what its worth I’ve never enjoyed eating at places like this, when I go to chain restaurants, my expectations are low to begin with, and this experience has set the bar so low they just laid it down on the floor.
To start this horrendous tale, my party of seven sat in the lobby area and watched party after party get sat as we waited 54 minutes to be taken to our table. After every member of the management staff apologized to us we were told we were going to get two free appetizers and when our waitress finally came to the table we were informed that she chose them for us. So to receive the appetizers we actually wanted we had to pay for them anyway.
Sadly, the appetizers were the highlight of our meal, our table had spinach dip, queso, onion rings, and croissants. I stepped away from the table, to use the restroom and upon my return I was greeted with a visually unpleasant presentation of a Chicken Fried Steak, the entire plate looked like a mound of white gravy. The batter to steak ratio was ludicrous. I cut into my batter four times before I got to the steak, and to make matters worse the steak and batter were awful. Both of my side items were at room temperature, which made me question if the kitchen is up to code.
All said and done, the meal was taken off my ticket but was charged for one more appetizer than I received at this point I just wanted to get out of this place, we just paid and left. Hopefully never to return.
