Little nondescript restaurant south of 410 on San Pedro. but absolutely wonderful experience!!! The décor/ambiance is perfect & inviting, the server’s knowledge is tremendous and his enthusiasm is infectious. I haven’t even mentioned the quality of the food, which is exquisite — taste, portion size, variety, presentation, everything! The pricing is also a great value– very very hard to beat. Will go again and again, taking new diners every time!

It was my first time at this restaurant and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised! The food portions were just right and were not expensive at all. They described their food as Latin Fusion. I recommend Charolas to any one looking a change of scenery from the Tex-Mex landscape of town.

My parents have been bragging about a little nondescript find they have stumbled upon on San Pedro next to the Montani Hotel. Apparently the prior catering service has expanded into seating and now serves a very simple daily prix fixe menu along with a few other items they will offer as accompaniments. After much talk, my parents invited me to lunch and I agreed. Really, who in their right mind turns down a free meal… not I… All I can say, I will return and I will bring friends! The place is small and had one waiter serving multiple tables. Maybe it is because they serve a prix fixe meal but the waiter was wonderful. I think we were the only table that arrived and did not hug him. What else do you need to say when the patrons know the waiter by name and hug him? One offered to buy him lunch if he would sit with them; true story. The first course was a split pea soup that was amazing. While my first taste was a little salty, I decided by the second spoonful that is was not and just plain delicious. My mother had the pineapple salad option and was not disappointed. Both items were served with homemade rolls; piping hot! The second course was the shrimped stuffed tilapia and yellow rice. It was very tasty and my dad and I were both sad that it was gone in four fork fulls. Nonetheless, I do have to admit it was the perfect«human» serving portion. My mother had the chicken and beef filled empanadas; sensational. I ordered one myself and struggled not to order more. The dessert was a very small strawberry filled empanada served in strawberry sauce and whipped cream; stunning! All of this for $ 8.00!!! Again, I am going to return very quickly and recommend this little place for anyone looking for a small unassuming place that offers both service and great food! By the way, they are now offering wine and beer with their meals… very nice.
