CLOSED Our favorite mexican joint is closed. Sadness. Now we need to find a new place

We eat here almost every sunday after church. They have live music that is appropriate for everyone. I have never ordered something that I did not love, but my favorites are the Pollo de Monterrey and the Pollo de Casarita. Try these sometime and you can’t go wrong.

We eat here quite often, we had tried some other Mexican restaurants and ended up back here because the food is way better and not expensive. the place has a nice ambiance too. Great for lunch or dinner. I love the flautas pollo.

I went in for dinner but left after one drink. The place is really dirty, and smells like a nursing home. The bartender was really nice, though. But this place is gross on the inside!

Highly recommend the pollo cilantro, and love their salsa!

This is my second time here. The décor could use a little work but the food to me is good. I ordered the beef and chicken fajita nachos and besides the beans, it was a great portion for 10 bucks. The wait staff is very nice and the owner is sweet also. My husband ordered the chicken burrito and it comes with two big burritos, rice and beans. Very good food again for a good price. If you’re not a stickler for décor but likes decent Mexican food at a good price then casaritas is the place for you! Happy eating!!!

I’ve eaten here a couple of times, because it’s like a block away and once or twice a month I feel like eating mexican food. The place looks dead most of the time, but they have great specials. Don’t go for the usual. This is not the place where you’ll get the cheese enchiladas of your dreams or the best beef fajita taco out there. I tried the pollo poblano because I have tried that on different places and it’s always good. The sauce was savory and couldn’t stop eating until it was all gone. My wife now gets that plate everytime. They also have an excellent pescado Del rio and really good chipotle enchiladas. Watch out, because they might be spicier than your pico de gallo, but who cares? if you’re getting chipotle is because your aching for some chili. I don’t really care for chips and salsa, so I won’t be reviewing that. All I can say is, have some margaritas, some specials and if you have room, try some of their desserts.

The worse mexican food in San Antonio. We decided to give this place another try after 3 years of not going. Still terrible. How does is place stay in business? Canned refried beans, tortillas taste like cardboard, watered down margaritas. Service was good.

I’ve been here a few times, and the first several times it was great. I enjoyed the food and they have really good margaritas. We have always had good service as well. However the last time I went I ordered the Chicken Fajitas and I got sick after eating them. I talked to several other people who have eaten there recently, and there are 5 other people I know who said they have gotten sick from eating there as well. Unfortunately, it’s that fact that will keep me away from this restaurant now. But I also know other people who have never gotten sick there and absolutely love it, so I guess maybe it just depends how strong your stomach is. I say eat here at your own risk.

I feel bad for this establishment because I went one day at lunch and it was nearly dead. At noon, there were literally only 4 – 5 tables of patrons. So naturally, you feel for the place and want it to do well. Perhaps they should think about revamping their food, because it was not great. The chicken was good, but the beef was dry and tough. In a town full of great Mexican food, this place is a pass.

BEWARE– GIFTCARDSCAM @ this Restaurant!!! I received a $ 25.00 gift card from my son and I was NOTALLOWED to use it on the fajita plate special. I was then told that I needed to purchase $ 50.00 in order to use the gift card! Now get this– they would also charge an 18% gratuity !!! Now for the meal– the fajitas were Burnt! The waiter was very nice, apologized and brought us some more which were much better. I will DEFINITELYNOTRETURN to this restaurant because it is just NOTWORTHTHETRIP!!! Please be advised!!!

I’ve been twice and I’m still living so the food won’t kill you but yeah I don’t like this place at all. It smells like a nursing home.

We’ve been to this place once. I thought it was good but the atmosphere wasn’t the best. I’d be willing to give it another try but have had better Mexican food. Our waiter had a problem with his voice and we had a hard time hearing him. This place is just OK, not bad but not great either.

The service at this place was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food did not complement them. My husband and I both ordered taco salads and were horribly disappointed. They each cost $ 9 and there was about 2 cups of food in them. The beans were nice but the cheese was liquid cheese and the guacamole was definitely that refrigerated or frozen kind, it was awful! We won’t be going back.

The restaurant has great atmosphere, and the menu looks promising — both very reasonably priced and extremely diversified. That, unfortunately, is where the enchantment ends. The food, while very plentiful, is greasy and bland and so salty as to be virtually inedible. My first — and last — visit was with a friend. It was a late dinner for us: we had been on the road for hours, and hadn’t eaten since early that day — so we were ravenous when we arrived — and please understand that both of us can hold our own when it comes to mealtime, and we’re pretty forgiving of pedestrian fare. Even so, we absolutely couldn’t eat more than just a few bites before calling it quits. I can’t drive by the place without my stomach churning — AVOIDATALLCOSTS.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs opens up tonight and all I can think about is how Casarita pours on the food. Huge helpings of enchilada, beans and rice make me want to eat and eat forever. You can never go wrong there, it is a diamond in disguise.(Is that a saying?) Last time we went, there was live music, a woman playing the piano. I remember Barbara Streisand(don’t you just luv her nayls!) music and singing along to the tunes. It was fresh. I have not tried their margaritas but they have large signs with specials everywhere outside the establishment and a nice bar/lounge area for those who do not want to sit down to eat. Kid friendly and reasonably priced, this place is a mandatory restaurant to eat at.

Pretty run-of-the-mill Texmex fare here. Not bad at lunch time for the specials, tho as they were pretty inexpensive. My roomie used to work at the HEB on Thousand Oaks and thus there were a few times we went to Casarita for lunch. I’ve had Casarita a few times since(take out orders) and being that I generally order up a Cheese Enchilada plate at most Texmex places(and it’s hard to mess that up)… I’m probably not an excellent judge of the rest of their food. My friends usually order the flautas and they love them… also my friend enjoys their tortilla soup quite a bit(even tho I think that mine rivals Jim’s Restaurants… which everyone seems to love…)

I missed Black Francis for this? Quani and I met my cousin here before the Black Francis and STP show on July 27th. I had the shrimp fajitas, my cousin had some chicken thing and Quani had something that she said was full of grease. We started the meal with some kind of nachos, that were actually potatoes made into little bowls that held queso and chicken. These were really good and I wish I ordered more for myself. My meal was OK. The shrimp needed to be de-turded. The tortillas were nice and fluffy. The meal was cheap but it wasn’t worth missing the first hour of the concert and missing Black Francis.
