The Live Oak location is one of the worst. We get told one thing then get there and are told something different. They do not do what they say they will do, and they schedule appointments then the car salesman is not there. He is conveniently off, a fact he did not state to us. We come from out of town and the car that we were assured by a person and their own system, was there, was in fact not. Then they offer us a $50 credit for gas, but I have to go and put the gas first to get reimbursed. We drove a combined 170 miles and wasted 3 hours of drive time to get there only to be told oh sorry you were misinformed. I called twice on the day we were told our car would be ready since no one there bothered to call us and were told oh sorry not today. Just disorganized, unfriendly, full of "my apologies" and BS.

First of all I do not give out 5 stars often at all. This Carmax location however I feel deserves it. My wife and I purchased an SUV here last month. Our salesman was named Ben and he was utterly fantastic with us. They did not have what we wanted in Stock so Ben helped us over the course of a couple weeks looking until we found exactly what we wanted. The price was easly 4K under anyplace else of the same year make model. When it came in there were a couple minor issues with it but there shop took care of it right away and I was satisfied. Now I have been buying cars for a LONG time and at every occasion with dealerships I would leave feeling exhausted and as if I was robbed but not here. The process was easy, stress free, and fast. (Once we found our truck.) Ben was not only like a salesman but more like a life long friend and he still calls or texts to say hi once in a while. We will be back when it’s time to replace my wife’s car

I have bought maybe 10 cars in my life and this was by far the best experience of them all. I’ve been to high end dealerships and corner lots and this place everything! From great service from Steve to great atmosphere. The showroom staff took care of myself, my husband and my kids like we were buying a Lexus! Since the commission aspect is not an issue here, there is absolutely no pressure to buy anything. Steve was fantastic and answered all the questions we had with expert level knowledge. The purchase process too about an hour from start to finish! I’m so happy with my 2012 Fiat Abarth! I will definitely recommend this place!

My Father turned 91 this year and it was time (by his choice) to simplify his life and to sell his car. My brother-​in-​law and I went to CARMAX in San Antonio with my Father this past Saturday to sell the car. Key to our highly satisfied experience was KELLY COLLUM. He helped make the transaction very easy. He was articulate and made the transaction flow smoothly. More important — he was compassionate regarding the needs of my 91 year old Father. He treated my Father with respect and was conscious of his needs as my Father turned over his car and the independence that it represented. Kelly is a true professional. Thank you for making our experience so GREAT!

I can’t say enough nice things about this place. Having never dealt with a carmax before, I went in quite apprehensive thinking I was going to be blindsided by a lowest of low ball offers. My husband and I dealt with a gentlemen named Trey and he was incredible. Thorough, knowledgeable and an all around easy person to speak to. The whole process took a little over an hour. The offer was fair and they paid my balance on my car loan off on the spot. Great customer service even at the end of a work day. I will be dealing with carmax for my vehicle needs in the future. A+

I would recommend this carmax to anyone looking for a used car. I went to the other carmax on I-​10 in San Antonio and left after 1 hour of no one helping me or evening talking to me. But they had a bunch of employees standing around on their phones outside or talking to one another. No one greeted me or even talked to me.
As soon as I walked in the door at this location I was greeted by a man named Kevin who took my name and information. Within 10 minutes of walking around I received a call from Wes. He met up with me. He was very helpful. He showed me a lot of cars. He was honest and knew his stuff.
I am having a car transferred over from Houston and selling them my car. The rate they are buying my car for is unbeatable. I was so happy with the price they offered me.
