Caliente Hot Glass Studio

We scheduled a private class, what a great way to spend an afternoon. This is something unique to do with your friends. We thought we would walk out with a paperweight or something, but ended up with a beautiful bowl and wall platter.
Ruth and Glenn were very supportive and patient teachers, they let you participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. They allow you to put your own unique touch on whatever you create.

OMG! Why can’t I give this 100 stars? We had a blast! We signed up for a private class and hoped it was going to be fun… we had no clue! It was intense, but soooo much fun! Ruth and Glenn are fabulous people and we hit it off from the start! They were patient and kind and encouraging! This is absolutely something we will do again! I’m already looking at the calendar to schedule our next class! If your looking for something fun but different, this is it! It’s way beyond dinner and a movie! It taps into your creative side and rewards you with a great piece of glass! Also, Ruth took a ton of pictures as we worked our glass, and then shared the files. We will never look at a bowl or vase the same way again! Thank you Ruth and Glenn! You gave us an anniversary experience we will NEVER forget!!!
P. S. Wear closed toe shoes! This is molten hot glass, and flip flops are not appropriate!

I wanted to treat myself to a creative experience after completing a year long career ladder course. Boy, did the beginning glass blowing class at Caliente do the trick! Not only did I create a beautiful piece of art but the staff made me feel at home with their friendliness and support. I am very pleased that San Antonio has a hot glass studio where you can take classes and artists can come in and produce their own works!

We went to Caliente Hot Glass for our anniversary and had such a great time. They were very patient with us (we were first timers) and let us really control our level of involvement. We highly recommend trying this.

This place is so amazing that I created a Unilocal account just so I can review it! We took my best friend there for her birthday today (02 Aug 15) and had a blast. Glen and Natalie were warm, welcoming, and true artists. They helped us create a large decrative bowl. We got to get the glass out of the furnace, color it, and help shape it during almost every step of the process. Was it warm in the building? Of course, but we had so much fun we didn’t even think about it. I plan to go back at least 2 or 3 more times just between now and the end of the year. I bought a introduction to glass blowing package for two — amazingly cool! Take the time to check this place out! Glen and Ruth are great instructors, the class size is small and personal, and you’ll create an ornament from start to finish. This is a San Antonio must do! Pro tip — cool off afterwards in the gallery and check out the pieces local artists created.
