Budget Car Rental San Antonio International Airport

Flights start leaving San Antonio airport at 5 AM and the knot heads don’t open until 5 AM finally left the stupid car in short term parking and told them where they could find it.

I dropped my car off on the Dec 19 and picked it up Jan 02. The drop off was very smooth i simply parked my own vehicle and took the shuttle to the airport; however, the shuttle driver told me i would need a taxi to get back there. When i returned today i tried to call to verify what i was told. Nobody answered! I waited a while for the shuttle but after about an hour i decided to take a taxi. The taxi driver actually told me they did in fact have a shuttle. I went back to look and it was just pulling up.
When i got to the place they were not busy at all. Wtf?! Answer the dam phone!

Didn’t have any vehicles in the class I reserved — an suv should be common. When we returned the truck, the Budget employee wrote the mileage and gas level on the contract and whisked the truck away. They Budget explore who input the info into the machine to give us the receipt said we drove 3,500 miles. An extra zero. He also scolded U.S. and said we should not have allowed the other Budget employee to take the vehicle away — a very odd dictate. It was then our responsibility to go to the customer service center to fix the error. Why is all of this acceptable?!

Awful experience with Steven at the San Antonio Airport location. Charged a full days rental after returning an hour late. I asked at the time of pick-​up what to do if I run late and he said to just call and it should be no problem. After trying to call the number provided on the contract, it rings to an automated system with no way to reach a representative. The contracts provided offer no information on late returns and the representative that helped me (Steven) withheld this information when I asked for it. When questioned about the fee on my receipt, he quickly stated that I would need to speak with a supervisor tomorrow and drove off to out away the rental.

Disreputable and shady agent of budget rental cars.
I am a flight attendant and I travel all over the world. Never have I dealt with a less than professional and shady car rental agency in 18 years! I originally had a rental car with another reputable agency: Avis, but when I arrived their line was long and Budget did not have a single person in line; clue #1. The associate and the van driver were awesome. The problem I encountered is a lazy, unprofessional supervisor named Jose. I had to drop the car off at 4:30am, so I was given instructions to park in long term parking. Around 8:00 this morning, I called and requested a copy of the final bill, confident that all was good because I rent cars every single week and I know the drill. I was emailed a copy with an additional $ 15 charge! From 8:00am until 5:15pm, I called multiple numbers and left multiple messages regarding the charge. Jose finally called me back at 5:20pm and told me I was charged for not having a full tank. WTF?! Total BS! He no longer had the car on the lot and he did it not know who checked my car in. If someone had called me back earlier, this issue would have been easily rectified. The one time I pay for gas with cash, I have no receipt. My bad. He left the charge on my bill. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This location just borrowed Budget’s reputable name and it’s a shame they are smearing it.

Im a rapidrez customer of budget and a frequent traveler. This location only opens at 5 am. Do not schedule yourself a 6 am flight out of SA if you rent from here as you can only drop off your rental car here at 5 am.

Readers need to understand this Budget is for the San Antonio International Airport. Many people don’t realize this and it should be noted.
This is the strongest warning against a business I could possibly write and have written to date.
RENTER BEWARE
This is a franchise owned and not a corporate owned Budget Rent-​A-​Car and they have different policies and don’t follow the standards a corporate Budget would have. Furthermore, the billing systems are so different that a the 800 number for Budget (national customer service) can’t even see your bill, but only your reservation. Any issues that need to be resolved with this location can’t be resolved by Budget Corporate. You’re on your own with this franchise. It might as well be John’s Rent-​a-​Car with a Budget sign on it.
I had one of the worst rental experiences to date with this Budget and I would strongly recommend not renting here. Go to Avis, Enterprise, National or any other brand that’s corporate owned.
